Just a suggestion…the video is way too far back…you can’t see the products. You need to be closer to the camera!
The photo above the video shows them closer up 🙂
I like your video and can see the products just fine! Thanks for the reviews!
Here’s a suggestion for you, then stop following her blog! and stop being so rude!
She wants to to clink on the links so she gets more $. If you could read the label in the photo you could buy the item with out her getting any commission off the sale.
Get a life and have some tact.
I don’t think you fully understand what “commission” is, Lori. It’s not a nasty word or concept—It’s how millions of people put food on the table for their famlies, pay their rent or mortgage, buy school supplies for their children…. You have helped these people and their famlies many times in your own purchases. It keeps the economy healthy. So enough with that—I have just discovered this You Tube feed and I am learning so much from you Kate…. this 40 something year old is feeling sassy again and up to date.
Shucks! I was really looking forward to trying the nail polish since I love their top coat. Honestly, I’m always surprised at your love for Essie polishes. I have horrible luck with chipping anytime I use it. I wonder if I am applying it wrong? What base/top coat do you use? The color selection is so pretty, I want to love them so bad!
I so agree with you on Essie. I so badly want to use my polishes, but no matter what base or top coat I use, it’s chips within a day!! A recently bought Smith and Cult and they hold up great, however their color selection isn’t great!
I’ve never used a cream eye shadow before, any suggestions for technique? Little scary in my opinion, I just now mastered the slightly darker corner and crease skill.
I was going to ask the same thing! Especially the silver plum…. Do you apply all over the lids or do you use anything else with it?
I like to apply all over the lid with my finger!
Here’s a more in-depth post on cream shadows! https://www.thesmallthingsblog.com/2015/02/cream-eyeshadow-collection/ Hope that helps!
Hi Kate, How is the Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water with wearing contacts? Some of those watery makeup removers are greasy, leaving residue on contact lenses. Does this one do that?
I’ve been using the simple brand version of this stuff and if it does get on my contacts a few blinks and its gone. It doesn’t seem to harm my eyes or contacts if it does get in there.
I also use the Simple brand like KC. If I’m wearing eye makeup, I use a normal face cleanser or eye makeup remover to take that off, and I use the micellar water on the other areas of my face. I don’t think the water itself does enough to get off mascara without serious rubbing. I have used the water to wipe down my face in the morning sometimes, but I’ve never noticed an issue with greasiness on my face, and it’s never gotten onto my contacts.
It’s a coincidence that you reviewed the Marix Rose mousse. My hair stylist just started trying this and said she has to use the tiniest amount or else it makes the hair lifeless. So strange! She did use the shampoo though, and it smells amazing!
That serum sounds fantastic, I definitely need to get my hands on that! Great favorites! XO -Kim

Try Zoya nail polish and their Anchor base and Armour topcoat. EVERYTHING chips on me, but these last several days. They have a huge color selection, too.
I enjoyed your post today, and I can’t wait to try the Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water and the Clarins cream to powder eyeshadow in Silver Pink, Silver Plum and Silver Ivory. I read your blog everyday and watch your videos. I try to tease my hair, but I’m not successful, like you. I have tried a new product that gives the volume on top of my head w/o teasing. I thought I’d share: Aveda Volumizing Tonic. You may want to try it. :O)
Thank you for the video- look forward to them each month. Wanted to share that I have really grown to love my Dr. Jart products. I use the Premium BB daily and it is perfect for hydrating and protecting my skin in the humid, semi-tropical climate in which I live. I also cannot go without the DJ Mineral Water each evening.
hello, please go back to having the camera closer please! Didn’t enjoy this as much as your previous ones as you’re too far away and l can’t see the products!
I just love the Garnier Micellar water!!! It works so good!! =)
Where did you get the white dresser behind you? I am looking for something exactly like that!!!!
Love these informative, fun-to-watch videos! What lip liner do you use with the Burt’s Bees lipstick? I have Fuscia Flood and have had no luck tracking down a fuscia liner.
Whoa, girl fight in the comments. Gracious. Off to watch!
I really want to try Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water. I have been seeing it everywhere and every time I shop in Ulta, my palms start itching. I wanna try!

Hi Kate! Could you tell me where you got those pretty purple storage boxes you have in the shelf behind you? So cute!
