I’ve been on a journey that I’m finally ready to talk about.

Are you ready?

I’ve been testing thongs. I’ve lived most of my adult life, *especially* post-partum, as a briefs-only kind of woman. I used to wear thongs before, but I just never really cared about wearing one after having kids.

I turned my underwear searches to high-rise briefs that are lightweight and don’t show lines, you can see my favorites on this post, but I’ve recently turned the corner on opening up my mind to wearing thongs.

This is a result of a dinner conversation with a few girlfriends, during which two of the attendees declared they almost exclusively wear thongs, and the other two (one of those was me) declared we never wear them.

I purchased a handful from a few different retailers to test them out and discovered quickly that it is hard to find a decent high-rise thong that doesn’t feel like shapewear.

Until this week. When I purchased my first Skims product from Nordstrom. I bought the Fits Everybody High Waist Thong and it is truly a high waist, light-weight, extremely comfortable thong. I’m blown away. The fabric reminds me of the Chantelle soft stretch high waist brief.

The biggest factor playing into my decision to purchase more of these is that I didn’t have to adjust or think about it all day. Other thongs would bother my c-section scar, but this rise is high enough – and stays there – that I don’t have any issues where I need to adjust it.

The sunglasses I’m wearing in the photo are some of my favorites. In fact, I like them so much I bought a second pair in case I lost my original pair. I’m pretty hard on my sunglasses too, so it doesn’t hurt to have a duplicate pair for the inevitable time that I damage my first pair.

I’ve shared on Instagram that my mom, sister, and I are on our “annual” girls’ trip to Florida. We started taking this trip together a long, long time ago but when I started having kids it was harder to attend. Last year was our first year doing it again and it was such a fantastic trip. I remember reading an entire book in 1 day, just laying in the shade on a lounge chair. We spend a lot of time laughing, relaxing, and enjoying an extremely slow pace on these trips.
