It’s hard to get into the clothes/style of the next season when it’s 100 degrees outside. You simply cannot imagine how hot it was the day we shot these photos. I was working on a fall-ish project so I had to wear these pants!
I was at a styling appointment at Trunk Club in Chicago recently and my stylist brought out these pants for me to try. I loved the color, as it’s a bit lighter than another pair of more structured green pants that I own, and thought they would be a great summer into fall option. They are thin too, and have a very slight bit of stretch.
I found the lace top at Target in Wisconsin and haven’t found it around these parts yet! I love it! I’m going to try wearing it over a few dresses that I have so I can get a few other uses out of it, but in the meantime I kept it simple with this easy, neutral outfit.
bag, booties (similar on sale!), pants (similar under $100, similar under $45), camisole, lace top, necklace, earrings, nail color, hair tutorial

I never knew this shade of green was called sage green. It’s such a lovely colour, I’m definitely going to look out for pieces that are the same shade!

I just checked that top out on target…do you have to add your own cami or is the cami under it just around the front and not the back? When I saw the back view I was like, “THAT won’t be pretty post baby!”
It does not come with a cami!
I didn’t think so…when I saw the back view of the top, I knew that couldn’t possibly be something you’d wear, especially given the bras you tend to recommend!
Your hair always looks so perfect! I love that top, white lace is always a winner x

I’ve also been looking forward to fall clothing… even thought its nearly 98 degrees in South Louisiana also! Love this outfit.
I love the pants! They remind me of my Cabi ones. It is miserably hot where I live too, and I’m actually ready for Fall. What an adorable outfit though!
How does the top run?
I love how you cover all bases including nail color (even though you can barely see it) because you KNOW someone will ask every little detail…lol! Cute look, checking out that top now. 🙂
I have been eyeing that top at Target all summer. I would pick it up at least once a week when I would see it then put it back because I wasn’t sure how to style it. I’m on my way to the store now to get it! Thanks!!
I just fell in love with sage/olive and grabbed a similar pair this weekend! That lace top would look so pretty over dresses. Thanks for the inspiration… I often see similar lace tops and wonder how much I’d use them. Over dresses is brilliant!
I just ordered the pants, how did you find the length ? I’m 5’3″ so length can be an issue .
Hits at my ankle!
my favorite combo! Love this look on you!

Love the top! Can I ask what size you got and if it runs true to size? Also, what are your recommendations for the cami underneath? SOOO pretty!!!
I bought a medium!
Thank you! I saw you linked a cami too 🙂
Perfect! I love it so much!
Have you found a great strapless bra that is comfortable to wear with shirts like this?
You inspired me! I got this tee in black to wear with my olive skinnies. You mention layering it over a dress. I’d love to see it if you do.
No matter what blog I’m reading, no matter the subject, I scroll down to the comments and there you are; the first one to comment, and usually something inconspicuous.
My personal favorite, when you commented on weight on some other blogger’s post when you weigh no more than my winter coat.
Oh, and you run a lifestyle blog and didn’t know about sage??? I call BS!
I love this outfit and will be on the look out for a lace white and sage green trousers or jeans on my next shopping trip.
