What I’m packing for my weekend away

My mom, sister and I are heading to South Carolina for the weekend! It’s been years since the 3 of us have done a weekend away together and I’m so excited we made it happen this year.

The weather forecast is hot with rain on Saturday, and while my mood is typically extremely affected by the weather I’m going to DO MY BEST to stay positive. We are going to Palmetto Bluff and it’s so dang beautiful and peaceful there that even in the rain, it will be nice to be away.

I’m a light packer in general and that remained true as I packed for this trip as well. I find that choosing striped tops for travel means that I can keep accessories simple. The top is busy enough where it doesn’t need a necklace or even particularly fun earrings. And that equates to easier packing in my mind! Plus, stripes are the best.

For dresses, which I’m planning on living in the entire weekend, I chose these.

I’m not usually one for prints, but I love the ease of this maxi.

I threw this dress in at the last minute too because how can I not?!

My sister is getting married in July, my parents have some exciting changes happening in their life as well, and I’m just happy to be able to spend the weekend with them to celebrate all the great things happening this year.

I’m bringing books that I plan on ACTUALLY reading, I even have a few magazines stored up that I’ve not gotten a chance to read at home, and I’m planning on going to the gym while we are there too. It’s always really hard for me to leave the boys, but I’m sure they will have fun with Justin.
