Color Study: Pink

Ever since my office closet makeover, I have loved being able to actually see the makeup I own instead of having it tucked away in storage.
And after a recent purge, I grouped together a few products from the same color family and thought I’d go through a few of them here and explain why I like them!
This family is pink, and I had the largest amount of items to choose from. I’ll never stop looking for a perfect soft pink lipstick or blush. It’s what I feel the most comfortable in!
Tarte’s 12-hour Amazonian Clay Blushes are the absolute best. They last the longest, they are super pigmented, and apply like a dream come true. If you’ve never tried one, I highly, highly recommend it. The easiest shade for most skin tones to wear would be Peaceful. Dollface is my favorite bright, light pink (bottom in the photo), and Natural Beauty is the most bold blush I own!
It’s All Greek To Me is a shade I only wear on my toes, and it’s such an OPI classic in my opinion. I wore it in high school very frequently. It’s a bright, summer pink that looks good on any skin tone!
It was hard to slim down my lipstick choices for this collection, but ultimately I ended up with a soft pink and a bold pink. I can’t stop wearing Burt’s Bees lipsticks, and this soft pink shade from Anthropologie is what I wear on days when my makeup is lighter and softer.
The rest of the products are just some other pink-based loves!

I love pink and think it works best with my fair skin. I’m always on the lookout for the perfect pink lipstick and blush too. I just picked up, and can highly recommend, Dior Rosy Glow blush. Next time you’re in Sephora, check it out. Just a beautiful glowy blush that goes on beautifully and brightens your face. Expensive as heck, but worth it!
What color pink is the lipstick from anthropologie? When I click on the link it takes me to the classic red???
oh sorry! It’s Soft Rose
I would love to try the blush since it is long lasting, but since it is highly pigmented, do you have any tips on how to apply it without applying too much?
Thank you!
just use a very fluffy brush!
I’ve been wondering..how do you feel about expiration dates when it comes to makeup? Lipstick in particular. I have quite a few and most tubes I have say they’re good for 12 months, so I try to keep from buying more since i can’t use them very quickly. But all these gorgeous lipsticks you’ve been reviewing makes me want to buy more! 🙂
Love all the pink! And I love my Tarte blush too.
Love this idea for a series. I’d love to do something similar.
Dollface is one of my favourite blushes. I also love Flush.

Completely agree on the Tarte Love! I only have the one but it’s easily my favourite shade in Blushing Bride. The smooth texture is just perfect like a natural flush x

Pink is my favorite color and Tarte’s blushes are hand down the best. They truly last 12 hours or more! At the end of my 16 hour day, my blush looks like I just applied it!

Love the color study concept! An added idea would be to accept photos from your readers and give advice about what color combos would complement their skin, eye and hair color. As a redhead with medium skin and blue eyes, I’m constantly questioning my choices!!
Isn’t rediscovering your stash magical?
The lipstick at the bottom is really pretty, I thought it was Paul & Joe’s at first.

My favorite pink lipstick of the moment is Mac’s Lovelorn, but I am dying to try the Burt’s Bees lipsticks! I would never have thought to try a lipstick from their line before you wrote about them.
I love this picture! So pink and pretty. 🙂
