Saturday
Loose curls with a headband
Last night I went on a lovely little date with my husband. He took me to 518 West which is a cute little Italian restaurant downtown. Afterwards, because he knows me so well, we went to a Frozen Yogurt shop and got dessert! And it was surprisingly mild out so we were able to sit outside on a picnic bench. It was a great end to a long week. 🙂
I plan on a doing a bit of crafting this weekend too! I bought a candle from Target (my FAV) a few weeks ago and I’ve finally burned it all that I can. So I’m planning on “melting” out all the other wax, possibly spray painting it, and turning it into a “catch all dish”. If it’s a success, I’ll share it here! And in all likelihood, I’ll be working on this project with my new favorite blogger. 🙂
Finally, I’ve been on a desperate search for a new blog template. There’s a good chance I’ve already seen everything that is out there but I’m open to any suggestions! I’m looking for clean and simple, and inspired by these colors:
And LASTLY! The Giveaway WINNER is announced!
I assigned everyone a number in the order they commented, put those numbers into Random.org…
and the winner is…
Valerie!
I usually wear it down with waves or twist my bangs back if they need a trim 🙂
Congratulations Valerie! And thanks for entering! Please send me an email @ itsthesmallthingsblog@gmail.com so we can arrange the details for your package!

Well, I just started following your blog this week and from this post I see we are neighbors! Fun. I’m in Apex.
Love your blog. Seriously can’t wait for my keratin treatment to wear out so I can try some of your hair tutorials.
Congrats to the winner, but I must admit I’m in the new mood to change up my room again, and also the wall color. LOVE this but maybe a lighter grey.
Im glad ive come across this post beacsue theres so much negative reviews about the company. Its good to see you being honest and I think with every box your going to get bits you dont like. Im going to sign up and see what suprises i get every month 🙂 Raji
Hi Ree! I just tweeted this post to my flloowers because I am sure there are a lot of ladies out there…and even gentlemen who would be interested in this post. This is great! So many exist that I didn’t even know are out there. I’d be happy to save my money and spend it on something better. Beauty Fix sounds like something I’d like, just once a quarter I think is the frequency I prefer!
Love your blog! I recently updated my blog layout and I used Designer Blogs. They are amazing! They have tons of $10 blog templates and FREE ones to choose from. If you’re wanting something more personal to your taste they do custom designs as well.
Here’s their site:

And here’s mine so you can see the type of style they do:

GREAT POST!! Ah I love this so much because I was dneatibg making the MyGlam switch.I think this month’s Birchbox was a surprise because the last few months have been horrible…this month was a huge surprise.I didn’t realize Myglam came in a makeup bag..how cool. I also didn’t know Birchbox was made by Harvard grads. Interesting!!You don’t like Color Club?? Why not? I love the colors they offer! (At least the ones I’ve seen…only gotten one in my Birchbox!!)Anyways…thanks for the great review <3
I’m so picky when it comes to face and body products that usullay I end up not trying all the samples even from Neiman Marcus or Barney’s GWP, so there is no chance I will find use to more than a couple things from any of these boxes .
Thank you SO much for that info!! And your blog looks great!!
Hello,
Super cute blog!!! Can you tell me where the accordion lamp is from on the picture you posted under entry “Saturday.” I LOOOOOOVE it and it would be perfect for my new small bedroom.
Thanks!
