Meet Benji

I’d like to introduce you to Benji! This is our sweet little kitten that we brought home in October of last year.

Benji is a Bengal cat, and we went this route for our family pet due to Justin’s allergies. After Grits, our previous cat, passed away, Justin was able to finally live free of cat allergies (we’ve had cats since about 3 months after we got married!), and let’s just say that breathing and not having itchy eyes was quite a pleasure for him.

Justin did all of the legwork for finding a reputable place to get a Bengal from, and we had a wonderful experience.

Bengals are smart, playful, energetic, and can sometimes act a little more like a small dog than a cat. Benji was certainly a super energetic and playful kitten when we first brought him home (it kind of overwhelmed me to be honest!), but he has mellowed out a bit. He’s been home for about 4 months, and he is 7 months old.

My kids absolutely adore him. There is no shortage of attention for Benji, and he rolls with every single element of being with the kids. He has snuggled with each kid at bedtime, which was one of my personal favorite things about growing up with cats. I love seeing their love for him!

He will be joining us in Lake Placid for the summer, and we’re hoping to start taking him on walks on a leash once he gets a little bit older!

I love having a little buddy around at home. He’s a perfect fit for our family, and I’m glad to finally introduce you to him here on the blog!
