If I Lived in Lake Placid for Winter, I Would Buy These.

Still confused about what Bond Repair does? You’re not the only one.

A few weeks ago, we snuck up to Lake Placid, New York, for a winter weekend. We wanted to check on the house progress and also play in the snow while we had the chance. It was a very fun, very quick weekend, but we certainly made the most of it.

We packed 5 carry-ons, so I had to think very strategically about what the kids needed, what they could rewear, and then what I wanted to have there! The things I can wear in the winter here in North Carolina are NOT the same things you can wear in the winter in Lake Placid! I packed layers and waterproof sneakers, which were perfect, but I also thought a lot about what I would need if I lived in that climate for an entire winter.

If you’re not wearing a snow boot, you still usually need some kind of footwear that will keep your feet warm/dry! I’d go for a kind of a lower profile Chelsea boot to wear with slim straight or wide-leg jeans. I love the look of these! Chelsea boots are a little clunky for my typical style down here in Raleigh, but I can absolutely see myself replacing my ballet flats or slim sneakers with a cool Chelsea boot *if* I lived in Lake Placid for wintertime.

I wore my Tate jeans by Pistola with my waterproof sneakers, the one night we went out for dinner with our friends, and that worked perfectly! A waterproof sneaker is likely to be warm since it won’t “breathe” like other sneakers do. And as long as the snow that you’re walking through isn’t higher than your ankle bone, that may do the trick.

I wore a long puffer I have from LandsEnd, but it’s sold out, so if I didn’t have that, I would have bought this puffer from Quince.

I’ve been wearing my thermal running tights for running here in North Carolina, but I also brought them on our recent trip to Lake Placid and wore them under my snow pants every day! They are amazingly warm even in frigid temps!

There are so many more things you’d need, of course, but these were a few key items that I would have if I lived in a colder, snowier climate!
