We had what finally felt like the first official day of summer yesterday! We had a few friends over to swim in the afternoon, and it was HOT and SUNNY. It felt like a humid Raleigh summer day. We’ve had unseasonably cool days so far, with very limited humidity, which we have certainly taken advantage of…. but there has also been a lot of rain.
It was fun to hang with the kids and enjoy a laid-back summer day.
If you’ve been following along on Instagram, you probably know that my sunscreen stained the ends of my hair pink! For some reason, my hair is reacting very differently to chlorine and sunscreen, so I’m searching for a mineral sunblock that doesn’t feel grimy on the skin. Do you have any recommendations?
I also will be leaning even more heavily into wearing rash guards this season, although I did that a lot even before my hair turned pink from sunscreen. My favorite rash guard seems to be out of stock, so I’m browsing around for other recommendations to share!

Because of a rare autoimmune condition, I had to switch to mineral sunblock. After a long hunt, I’ve found two that I like.
(1) Innbeauty Mineral Sun Glow – I love this because it has no white cast (I get the medium shade).
(2) Supergoop Mineral Mattescreen – This goes on so smoothly and feels good on my skin, but it leaves a slight cast on my medium-shade skin (but much less than most brands).
