A Few Favorite Hair Conditioning Products

Gear + other Favorites that I use on my Peloton Bike

This may not seem long to many of you, but this is the longest my hair has been in a really long time! I always love switching up hair products when I’m trying things, but below are a few of my holy grail “healthy hair” products that I’ve seen really fantastic results from.

Alterna CAVIAR Anti-Aging Restructuring Bond Repair Leave-In Overnight Serum – Beyond just having the longest name in the world, this serum is lightweight and seriously conditions my dry, fragile ends. It helps condition your hair while you sleep, and reduces breakage by up to 99%. I apply this multiple nights a week, sleep with it in, and will either restyle or wash out in the morning. The directions tell you to wash it out, but if I apply a little lighter, I can definitely get away with restyling on day 2.

Virtue Healing Oil – I shared on Instagram that I had to color correct the front of my hair, and that meant I needed to lay bleach on top of already lightened hair. Generally, this is something stylists try to avoid as it is very hard on the hair. I found myself with fried front pieces, and I knew if I didn’t treat them with extra care that they would break right off. I apply this oil morning and night, and I swear it’s the only reason I still have hair there. This oil is deeply conditioning and made with Virtue’s own Alpha-Keratin 60ku that actually heals the hair.

Hairdressers Invisible Oil 72 Hour Hydrating Mask – I’ve used this a few times, on a weekly basis, and find it to be very hydrating and nourishing for my hair. It’s not overly waxy or greasy and provides deep moisture that I can see and feel. This set would be a nice intro into the line too!

Pureology Hydrate Conditioner – I discovered this daily-use conditioner years and years ago, and it’s definitely one of my holy grail choices. I love the minty smell, and it hydrates my hair deeply without leaving too heavy of a reside.

Pureology Color Fanatic Multi-Tasking Leave-In Spray – I use this on myself, and it’s my go-to when I need to add extra hydration to Emily’s hair. I would use this on her a lot in the summer after we would swim in the pool. It’s very softening and it smells so nice. I do notice a touch of weight on the hair after I use it, but nothing feels overly waxy or greasy.

I don’t use all of these products at once, but I alternate use between all of them based on how I’m styling my hair or what I’m feeling like my hair needs!

What shampoo do you use? Do you avoid certain chemicals in shampoo or treatments?

My daughter has very thick and wavy hair, and it tangles very easily, especially underneath. I have been using Matrix Mega Sleek conditioner, but with that it’s still very tangly. She likes to keep her hair long. Do you have a suggestion for a good deep conditioner that would detangle easier?

This is what I do:

Use Johnson & Johnson No More Tangles detangling spray after washing while the hair is still wet. Use a wide tooth comb that has a slippery coating on it. Spray some No More Tangles spray on the comb before combing through the hair.

Based on your review, I decided to try the Virtue healing oil. My hair is wavy/curly and frizz prone, I also color my hair blonde making it even more fragile. My stylist is amazing at protecting the hair, but I still have some breakage around my face. I have used the healing oil only a few times and already see results. I also tried their anti frizz cream and I am super happy with it! It controls the frizz without being crunchy (like a gel) and doesn’t weigh down the hair. Thank you!!!

How often should I get small trims in order to grow my hair out? I know I need to trim it to keep it healthy but I don’t want to trim too often to cancel out the growth effort! Thanks! ☺️

I have long wavy hair. My hair gets so tangled. What is the best detangler to use, especially when I’ve just washed my hair. Best detangler to use on wet hair? Please help!

I’m 40 and let my hair grow out the longest it’s ever been. The ends are dry & brittle. Suggestions for a daily shampoo & conditioner? Also I color treat my hair.

Hello! Would any of these work for men’s beards where the skin is dry as well?
