Makeup Capsule: Quick and Easy

We’ve had some springtime temperatures this week which has been lovely! I popped into DSW with two of my kids and found some great sandals for the warmer seasons. In the photo above, the Mauri Espadrille Wedge, are high but not too high. The blush shade basically acts like a neutral so I can wear them with so many outfits. The chambray jacket is old from Old Navy, but I found a very similar one here by BB Dakota! My tank is also from Amazon! It’s thin, a blouse material, and is long enough to give you the option to tie it in the front if you’d like. And finally, my jeans my go-to casual pair with the undone hem at the ankle, from Madewell.

I spent some time last week cleaning out my closet. I packed away a few winter sweaters and shoes but mostly just sorted through what I already had in order to organize it a bit. I always felt like I needed to really start from scratch in there with an entirely new closet system, but the simple act of moving things around and adding a secondary shoe storage rack makes the closet feel even larger. It was a good reminder that I don’t need to buy systems and organizational supplies as often as I need to ORGANIZE the stuff I have.

A hair question that I’m asked repeatedly is : “What is a good purple shampoo to cut down on brassiness in blonde hair?” Read this post, it’ll answer everything for you!

I’ve been using a few different Virtue Shampoos and Conditioners for the past week or so and I have to say I’m quite impressed. I always give products a good try before recommending but if your hair is damaged, the Recovery line is fantastic.

I’ve replenished my bra drawer with a few ThirdLove bras recently. I tried a few brands but nothing was quite as comfortable as ThirdLove. This is not sponsored, but I do utilize an affiliate link when I mention them (you can too!).

I recently tried a Biossance mask and my skin felt so fresh and clean afterwards. I’ve been exploring the brand a bit as a “clean” option and have been quite impressed with the few products I’ve tried!

Do you have any plans for the weekend? It’s raining all day today but I’m looking forward to a dry weekend! I may get some herbs and a few small flowers to plant on my deck. I know, I know. . . true spring isn’t here yet but my heart is ready!

Would you recommend a blue shampoo instead of purple for a darker blonde? More of a honey blonde. Thank you!

Yes that would work to cut out any golden hues!

I love all theses pieces! Also, you’re other links are great as well. I definitely need to try out that recovery conditioner. My hair gets so dry this time of year. Thanks for sharing! Hope you have a great weekend!!

I hope you can get into a dermatologist soon! I know it’s a pain with a long wait, but that’s due to the fact that they are treating and diagnosing cancer. Be sure to get a body scan while you are there. It’s imperative!
Dermatologists are so much more than just anti aging docs.
