NYX eyebrow pencil, Burt’s Bees lipstick, Maybelline Master Conceal, Yes to Cucumbers Cooling Hydrating Mist, Pixi Brow Gel Pencil, Maybelline Master Contour, Maybelline Push Up Drama, Maybelline Dream Matte Velvet, Revlon Not Just Nudes, Pixi duo eyeliner, Sonia Kashuk Eyelash curler, Pixi lash line Ink

So technically I guess I could have called this a Target makeup tutorial because you can get everything at Target but you can get everything except the Pixi products at other drugstores!

Of the bunch, honorable mention must go to Maybelline Dream Velvet foundation AND the Sonia Kashuk eyelash curler. Both blew me away and compete with high end products that are very similar. The other products are great too, of course, but those two are absolute front runners to me!

The lip color, Blush Basin, is such an easy to wear nude/neutral. It doesn’t look too pale or chalky and is a good option for “I don’t really want to wear lipstick but I sort of want to just amp up my natural lip color” look. And I love how the foundation gives me coverage, but still looks like skin versus something matte and non-dimensional.

Do you have any drugstore favorites in your makeup collection? I’d love to hear about them in the comments!

Thank you so much for taking the time to do a drugstore makeup video! It’s a huge help for those of us who can’t necessarily afford high-end products! Love your blog!

Thank you for doing this video! I actually picked up the foundation and contour kit after you snap chatted about them a few weeks ago. This was an awesome tutorial, and I now want to pick up some of those Burt’s Bees lipstick!

What shade of foundation did you use?

I just watched the video and she mentioned Ivory…

What would you say are the main differences between the Maybelline Master Contour vs. the L’Oreal Infallible pro-contour? Also between the Revlon nude eye shadow pallet and the Covergirl one?

I LOVE this tutorial!

Great video and the makeup looks just as good as high end products. Would love to see more makeup and hair tutorials for people with glasses.

Thank you so much for doing a drugstore makeup tutorial! These products are definitely more in my price range and I value your insight. I just purchased Burts Bees lipstick after reading your review and love it! Maybe someday it would be possible to do a hair version of this post?

This was great! I used to put major $$ into Estee Lauder, Clinique or,Mary Kay. Now, if I can’t find it at Walmart or Kroger, I live without.
I am trying the Dream Matte Velvet foundation–the jury’s still out on that, but I do like the way it goes on.
I love for eyeshadow the Blushed Nudes kit by Maybelline, but the little brushes are cheap and already fell apart.
I am mad at L’Oréal for discontinuing their Telescoping Shocking Extensions mascara. It was the best, including high end brands. Any suggestions for a replacement?
I will have to look for the Burt’s Bees. That’s a great color but it might be too brown for me.
Oh and your straight hair looks great!

Loreal Carbon Black is awesome, just don’t buy the waterproof version. ?

I love high end makeup, but I’m always looking for good drugstore dupes. I picked up the Covergirl Nudes palette after you reviewed it, and I love it! I also love the Loreal contour palette you recently talked about and liked it too. I absolutely can’t live without my ABH brow definer. It’s similar to the hourglass brow pencil you use in that it’s angled. I’ve been looking for a cheaper brow pencil that’s angled the same way. If you find one, you will have to blog about it! 🙂

I could be totally wrong, but it looks like OPI lucky lucky lavender. Her sister uses it quite a bit and its a favorite of mine as well!

I’m so glad you did this!
one of my favorites is the Revlon Color Stay balm stain! The honey shade is a great natural color but I also love smitten for a more dramatic color. I recently tried e.l.f’s instant brow lift pencil in neutral brown and was really impressed! I know you’ve been searching for a new foundation. Have you tried anything from Boots? My local target carries a few different types of the no. 7 foundation. my sister in-law SWEARS by the matte one! Thought you might want to try it out if you haven’t yet!

I agree that the Revlon Balm stains are THE BEST. Honey is now my go to shade for almost everything. It’s so easy to wear and lasts forever. My favorite of the matte balms is Sultry. Perfect rosy nude. 🙂

Beautiful as always! I’m so glad you were as impressed with the Sonia Kashuk eyelash curler as I was! It’s just so similar to the Shu Uemura and that was a happy surprise for me when I needed a new eyelash curler in a pinch!

My favorite drug store makeup is Maybelline Fit concealer. Blends well yet covers good! Your hair is perfection by the way! I tried so hard to grow my bangs out like this. Can’t do it not for me. 🙂

Lovely! For the last year or so I’ve actually been trying to switch from drug store to higher end makeup but there are some products I just can’t let go of! I love Cover Girls lash volume mascara and Loreal eye liner. Burts Bees Chapstick and lipgloss are some of my favorites too.
Did you feel that these products all wore nicely through out the day? I just love the lower price tag 🙂 Thanks again for a great post!

I love this post! Thank you!

I also saw your instgaram post regarding working out. I have been using wello.com and love it! It is a service you have to pay for, but it also comes with a live trainer working out with through two way video. It helps hold me accountable and I have made a connection with the trainers too. There are lots of trainers from all over the states and classes run from early morning through late evening. I would encourage you to at least check it out. My favorite trainer is Ashley Nicole. It’s also great because my kids are home with me and if they choose to be the trainers welcome them into the session. I can’t say enough about the positives I have experienced.

This is a great post! I’m always paranoid about forgetting my make up for an important event (I did once before an interview!) but wouldn’t have any idea what to buy at Target. As I was watching and then also perusing hair texturizers I thought, maybe you should do a similar post for hair? Focusing on products and tools? I’m sure you’ve thought of this already, so maybe I’ll just say I look forward to the post!

I agree with all of the thank yous for doing this post. I spend $$$ on foundation (and a few other things) because I have tricky skin. But, it is nice to have have tips on what to grab in a pinch, or if you’re just wanting to try out something new. All of that being said, I would like to pass on that I LOVE Cover Girl’s Intensify Me eyeliner!!! Eyeliner has always been one of my splurges because nothing seems to stay on me and I have sensitive eyes. But, my mom originally gave me this eyeliner and it is all I have used since. It offers great control, whether you want something muted or bold. It stays on all day, but also washes off easily. Also, I have hooded lids, which has always resulted in eyeliner on the upper part of my kid. This is the first liner I have ever used that doesn’t do that at all.

revlon brow fantasy in blonde or dark blonde is the best for drugstore eyebrow pencil duo with a colored gel…gel is alright in a pinch but its my go to!

Thank you so so much for your review of the Maybelline velvet matte foundation! It has seriously changed my makeup game. I have really terrible skin with lots of hyperpigmentation and melasma, and this foundation has helped even things out so much. It’s affordable and so easy to apply. I just love it. 🙂 You are my go to make up guru!

Thanks Kate! One of my favorite drugstore products is Physician’s Formula mascara. I have always been impressed with how well it lengthens my lashes without clumping! Your eyelashes look beautiful in this tutorial too so I might have to give that Maybelline one a go next time.

I think I might be the only person who’s not particularly sold on the Burt’s Bees lipstick. I tried Blush Basin and liked the way it went on, but it doesn’t seem to have much staying power and I don’t feel like it moisturizers my lips. Maybe I’m doing something wrong. Any tips for how to maximize how well it works??

I love my maybelline Great Lash (that green and pink bottle) mascara. It’s been my go-to mascara for a decade, and whenever I attempt try a high-end brand, I end up right back to my old ways.

Thanks for doing this! I’m always curious to complare drug-store to designer make up.

The Sonia Kashuk brow definer pencil in taupe is great! I think it provides a little bit of a cool tone to it. I have medium-dark brown hair but very light features/skin/eyebrows. My eyebrows are almost a gray-ish color, and the taupe shade works perfectly! It’s a pencil, not a gel or self-sharpener, but it’s been working great as both a brow fill and lower lash liner if you’re ever in the market for a new brow pencil!
