Another Website Update

New Year, New Hair Ideas

Thanks for your patience this week. To sum up, my site was hit with either hackers or a bot on Monday flooding it with fake traffic which overloaded the server until yesterday afternoon.

It was persistent, large, and intense.

I’ve added a new layer of security to the blog, which is why you are seeing a screen like this when you try to access the site.

This is filtering out threats, and isn’t a threat to you in any way.

I’ll be back Monday and am very very hopeful that all issues will be resolved.

Have a great weekend!

Kate, are you able to take any legal action against whoever did this to you?

The challenge with those situations is identifying that, “who.” They don’t exactly sign their name.

Right, there is no way to know

FYI – This new layer of security prevents accessing your blog inside the Bloglovin’ frame. In order to read posts, it has to open a new window.

That makes sense. The security is very high right now but is not permanent.

Just another note in case you were not aware – it looks like the new security layer is also blocking people from pinning things from your site too. It just comes up with “oops, this site doesn’t have any images to pin”. I know it is temporary so I am not worried, but though you might like to know 🙂

Did you ever have these issues before you made the switch from blogger to WordPress?

Oh no! So sorry. Must be super stressful. It happened to me with my old blog. Glad to see you back up and running!

All I can think about it the fact that you have 794 unread emails… 😉

Kate, ever since your new layer of security I have been getting pop ups and re-routing to spam type site. Then when I try to go back to your site the security screen never lets me back in until I close my window and start all over :/

You aren’t alone! Sorry about that but I’m doing what I can to get rid of that.
