A Winter Glow Makeup Tutorial
Hanging with the boys: Some of our favorite things to do in the winter
Dry winter air and a natural healthy glow don’t typically go hand in hand, but you can certainly fake it using the right products. Today I’m sharing a winter glow makeup tutorial and I love how glowy and luminous my skin looked!
I started with a swipe of the POND’S Luminous Clean Wet Cleansing Towelettes. I typically shower in the evening, but if I want a fresh face in the morning, aΒ splash of water along with a POND’S Cleansing Towelette is the perfect “wake me up” routine. It doesn’t leave my skin thirsty, and gets any leftover makeup or dirt off.
The next step was applying moisturizer, which I always do, and I reached for the POND’S Dry Skin Cream. My skin has been excessively dry, so this hydrated it perfectly without leaving it too shiny like some deeply hydrating moisturizers can.
After my skin was prepped, I picked a handful of products that all contributed to a luminous glow and you want watch the entire process below!
Makeup I used: Mac Paintpot in Painterly, Urban Decay Midnight Cowboy Rides Again, Jetsetter from Tartelette palette, Pixi Slate Grey eyeliner, Shu Uemura Lash Curler, Benefit Roller Lash, Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation, Make Up For Ever Full Cover Concealer, Honest Beauty blush, Hourglass Arch brow pencil, RMS beauty Living Luminzer, Clinique Bottom Lash, Tarte LipSurgence in Enchanted

This post was created in partnership with POND’S, a brand I’ve loved for years!Β

So pretty! Could you list the products that you used?
She did.:-)
I love the final result. So pretty! Ponds Dry Skin Cream has always been one of my favorite moisturizers for Winter.
Fizz and Frosting
I second posting a list of the products you used, please!
New closet as a backdrop??? Looks great!
Love the look! Going to try the ponds the cream I’m using now leaves my face greasy looking. I’d also love to see the names of products used. I LOVE that lip color.
Thank you,
Kari
Would love to see the makeup products you used for this makeup look!
I absolutely love your style! You have mastered the fresh, clean, casual-yet-always-put-together-with-little-details look that I love. I actually bought that necklace at the loft about a month ago and thought to myself “I could definitely see this popping up in one of Kate’s posts.” Love this look and am looking forward to trying it out! Thanks Kate!
I have been using the Fresh Lotus Youth Preserves Face Cream, and while I love that it doesn’t feel greasy, it seems to not be enough for winter. Do you find that this cream isn’t enough for your dry skin too?
Beautiful makeup! But I had to pause you to scan your background. I LOVE the setup!!!! It’s so pretty, modern, and the colors suit you perfectly! An updated tour??
You look stunning. What colour and brand of lipstick are you using? Looks great on you.
Please list the products example mascara.
Would you mind sharing the color or nail polish you have on? It looks like the perfect pale pink. Thank you and love your blog and tutorials!
YES, please!
Yes please share the nail polish color
I went out trying to find one similar to that.. of course it was a fail…so I need to know the color also!!
It looks great! I have super dry skin & I love Ponds so I’ll be keeping an eye out for their moisturiser!

When I apply my make up, even if I use primer before, it still ends up sliding off my face. I’ve used powders to help set it but I hate how heavy they look, especially when going for any kind of a glow or highlight. Any suggestions?
Wayne Goss suggests if you’re really oily you can apply powder before foundation. I’ve tried it and it works. It also acts like a primer.
Beautiful!
Will you please tell me what music you are using in the background?
Can you PLEASE list the products you used? I need to copy everything you wore! Beautiful!
Would love to know the shade of UD eye shadow base you used!
What is the Urban Decay eyeshadow color in the picture?
What is the color of that Urban Decay eyeshadow and the lipstick you used in your video? It’s so pretty!
I also use your product links to purchase all the time! I would love to snap up your eyebrow and lip products. My coloring is similar to yours so I absolutely love trying the colors that I see looking good on you.
That lilac sweater just makes the make-up glow! Beautiful!

Does anyone know the full coverage foundation she is using in the video?!
She linked it at the bottom of the post. Estes Lauder.
I will have to test out this lotion. Generally, when I use moisturizer with makeup I look oily so I have the bad habit of not moisturizing if I wear face makeup. Because of this, I have been going au natural so I can moisturize!
Can you list the products you used please? Thanks, great look!
Along with products, what brushes were you using?
Oh my gosh, this is perfect. Can you please tell me your polish color? It’s amazing. Xo
Have you tried the new Elf Contour Palatte? As a first time contourer, I like it!
I would love to know what you used on your lips in this video!
I would love to know what products you were using for this look.
What shade is your hourglass eyebrow liner?
platinum blonde!
I have been trying and trying to find out about the Arbonne Foundation that you use. Where can I get it and how do I determine the shade I need? Please let me know.
you can buy it at arbonne.com!
Lori, you have to buy it through a consultant, but you can buy it online at arbonne.com! My shade is soft blush. I have pretty white skin with a pink undertone. Buff is another popular color and that is for someone with pretty white skin (but not as much as me) with more of a yellow undertone. Unfortunately you have to find a consultant in person to sample the shades.
Oh, I love it! You look beautiful!
The color of the sweater looks great on you!!!
Hello Kate- I was wondering if you use anything to treat breakouts. Also I just wanted to say how much I enjoy reading your posts!
Blessings,
Sara
I love that this makeup look is simple and beautiful! Sometimes I feel like youtube makeup artists go WAY overboard with their makeup…but not you! This is perfect for the everyday woman, which I love!

I love this! It is so hard for me to make the Double Wear Foundation not look cakey and dry on me π Which is such a shame because I love the coverage!

Hi Kate! I love this post! Would you mind sharing where your necklace is from? Thank you!
Girl! What do you use for your under eye? As a new mama I could use any help I can get with dark circles thanks to a baby that likes to party at night???? Any help would be awesome!
Yes, a list of the exact products would be very helpful to your followers. I’m especially interested in which full coverage foundation is used in this tutorial.
Thank you,
Shawna
Sorry, I see your list now right after the vide
Do. However, what color are you applying in the EstΓ©e Lauder foundation?
Yes please!! I am as blonde & fair skined as you & I always get it wrong :\ so the shade in your foundations would be great to know π thanks x
Hello, yes wondering the same about what shade you use in this foundation … Also what color do you use in Arbonne! You look beautiful!
Love this tutorial and the products you used! I noticed in the pictures below that your curls seem so separated and I’ve tried most of your tutorials and you’ve made me a strong believer in not just the method of styling but theat products are key. Unfortunately I feel like I’m continually battling the issue where my curls toend to melt together and merge making the curls less separated. Any advice/tips? My hair is extremely thick, naturally curly and somewhat corse. I use redken so soft shampoo/conditioner, aquage uplifting foam, Anika undone texture spray, and Kenra volume 25 hairspray…help! ?
I make sure when I’m curling my hair to alternate directions. Sometimes literally every other one, or I do three sections when I’m curling my hair. Bottom section is away from my face, middle section is towards my face, and top section is away from my face again.
Hi Kate,
First, thanks for the enjoyable read that your blog provides! The hair tutorials are especially helpful.
So I have a question. For a college student who wants a light to medium coverage liquid foundation that doesn’t break the bank, what would you recommend? Are there any natural products out there that you have been happy with? Thanks.
Love your polish!! What brand and color is it?
Thank you for another great tutorial! Thanks for listing the make-up used. Could you provide a list also of the brushes you were using? I need a good concealer brush, and would like to try brushing on my foundation. I think it will go on much better than using my fingers.
Ok I have the Tartlette palette as well and I’ve looked several times…. No jetsetter? Am I losing my mind? The link you provide is exactly what I have and jetsetter is not listed on that either.
you must have the Tartlette in Bloom palette π
Got it! I had no idea there were different palettes. Thank you.
I love this look, so perfect for everyday! Thanks for sharing the steps!
I love this look! I borrow my Mum’s Ponds cream if I’m at home and I’ve forgotten my own!

Such a pretty look as always. I will have to try that PONDS moisturizer. I struggle so much in the winter with dry skin. Thanks for the tutorial!

Love your eye makeup in this makeup tutorial. Very natural and beautiful!

Did you list which exact color of blush you used from Honest Beauty? The link just takes me to the general cream blush page. Same with the bronzer. I didn’t see it listed, which could mean I’m on crack, but ya know… anything is possible since the baby is going through sleep regression or whatever it’s called when they stop sleeping for no reason. Adriele, did you receive a reply from Kate on your question? I too wanted to know the blush color she used.
I don’t see in the description of all the products you used what lash fibers you used. I would love to know because I recently found out I am allergic to false lash glue dangit!
I love the UD eyeshadow color! You look amazing!

Loving the wavy hair and this makeup look! I need to get better about using brushes instead of my fingers to apply makeup!
