I’d love to hear from you!
Fall Style Inspiration
It’s survey time again! I’d really love it if you would take a minute or so to fill this out so I can hear some feedback from you! I also am excited to provide an opportunity to those who love taking surveys and filling out forms like I do. I generally hate office type work, but I love paperwork and forms.
So, click the link below to take the survey! Thanks in advance!

I absolutely love your blog.
I’m going to agree with Jessica! Not a whole lot I would change!
thank you!
I love your blog, Kate!!!!

was that on purpose? mail, instead of male
nope, just a typo!
I love every thing about the small things blog! Wouldn’t change a thing. You’re doing great Kate!
I LOVE the blog and videos! I’m not sure if you already have, but a hair basics blog/video would be great. Just getting started, would recommend etc…
I will keep that in mind!
I agree! I’m 31 years old and am very low-maintenance, so I would really appreciate having someone teach me the basics. Stuff you think everyone knows … trust me, not everyone knows. Help! 😉
I’m 32, mom of a 6 month old, and I fully agree: I would love to know the basics, too. I’m hair-inept. 🙂
Thoughtfully presented tutorials! Your expertise is appreciated!
I would love to see more hair basics. You probably have tips and tricks that seem trivial to you but could be an aha moment for many of us.
I second that! I am hair illiterate (is that a thing?). And although my sister-in-law is a hair dresser herself, I don’t ask her much. She tends to look at me confused when I do ask, probably because she can’t believe I don’t know something so basic. Not fun to feel so dumb. Lol.
Hair illiterate is the term my mom uses that she passed down to me. That’s the first thing I always tell stylists in the chair. I love how Kate has helped me become less illiterate, but I still have a long way to go!
I loved taking that survey! I like stuff like that and then I loved when you did the “15 mins to fresh” morning routines. You come up with some fun things to balance out your blog. Love you!!
Oops! Forgot to mention that I appreciate that you not only post daily, but your blog is so detailed and free of mistakes or typos. You do a great job of keeping things looking great and easily readable.
I love the blog, but since we’re on that subject, I would actually disagree with that. I find a lot of punctuation errors, mainly with apostrophes and commas.
I agree Laura-and am working on implementing and editor to catch those before I publish posts.
Of all things, I wouldn’t think this is a big deal. ITS A BLOG. Give me a break.
Love your blog, Kate!! Do some more personal faves, love reading about what you are enjoying right now!
I absolutely love your hair tutorials and all things hair related – but my hair is not like yours in the slightest…It would be great to see some other cuts for curly/wavy hair, or some helpful hints as to how to explain certain cuts/styles to our stylists…for example, what “layers” means to me, might be totally different to what a profession stylist knows.
Otherwise, keep doing what you’re doing! Love all aspects of this blog!
Please delete me from this site. I can’t find the “unsubscribe” button as required by law.
Hi Julie, can you be more clear? There isn’t a membership to this site so I can’t delete you from it–you would just need to stop visiting it or remove it from a feed you use.
I agree with some comments above..not a whole lot I would change. You are refreshingly relatable and normal! Love it!!!
I’m a long time reader, but never comment. Since you’re asking for feedback I thought now would be the time to start! I followed you originally for your great tutorials, but I stick around as a reader because of your great content and your honesty about motherhood. I wish you amazing success in the future, you deserve all the good things your blog and hard work being you.

These are my thoughts exactly!! I came for the hair but stayed for Kate! Just laughing over the fact that we’re both Lauren’s 🙂
Me, too!!!!! …and of course Grits and Gravy!!
Love your blog Kate, I wouldn’t change anything!!!
I love your real personality and you seem so kind and sweet! I have 5 little ones (7,5,3,21m, & 7m) my youngest 2 are the same age as your boys, so I love seeing what your up to with them. Also am loving your decorating style lately! We also just moved and I’ve been trying to get it together room by room, but with Kid, well you know how that works! ?!
Anyway keep it up, your beautiful inside and out, and are such an inspiration to all of us mommies just trying to keep up and look good!?
Would love more “Ask Kate” videos. Love those.
I love your Blog Kate, it’s pretty much perfect the way it is!
I love your blog.. from hair tutorials and to the personal/family sharing as well. Especially when you shared about your infertility. That really hit home. My husband and I have been struggling for years. Anyway, it’s been great reading everything you share. Keep up the great work.
I want to say that I love that you post (almost) daily. I love coming home and enjoying a cup of coffee and your daily blog post before I dive into my work at home day. Thank you for your blog!!!
Love everything about your blog. I also started for the hair and makeup tips and tricks, but have stuck around for the “real life” stuff. Great blog, keep it up !!
Would love to see some diy cutting hair. When my family and i are tight on money, cutting my hair and dyeing it are some of the things i scrimp on. i know you had mentioned you cut your own hair, and i know you said you don’t like to show that, but it i would really love it. and showing kids cuts too. 🙂
Love your blog.
I suggested this in the form, but perhaps tools/tips for each “type” of hair? Example: longer and thicker hair tends to need more product and hotter tools to get curls to stay, but my friends with shorter and finer hair tend to need different types of product than I do. If that makes sense.
Not necessary a huge ordeal, but maybe a “Your Type” series and you can make a video of you behind the chair talking about challenges for that specific type and show some styling tips? You’re adorable behind the chair ANYWAY and I think it would be universal for all women. Everyone could find something that works for them that way.
Thanks lady! Love the blog!

Kate, your blog is great! You inspired me to start my own. Thanks for sharing your life and inspiring me daily. I hope some day to have a blog as wonderful as yours!
Like mentiond above…I came for the hair and stayed for Kate! If we lived in the same city I’m sure we would be friends!! Keep up the great work I always look forward to reading/watching your blog posts!!
Love❤️From Canada!!
I really really love your blog! You are a very kidness person I’ve ever seen☺️?
I love your blog!!!
I love your blog and I agree wholeheartedly that I came for the hair but stayed for Kate! And I wouldn’t worry about the typos, grammar, etc…it only makes you more human! Thanks for keeping it real!
I love logging into your blog once my daughter is in bed and my husband is engrossed in his Sodoku, it’s a pleasurable way to unwind in the evening.

Maybe less product giveaways and more food giveaways. Craving a bloomin’ onion and a giveaway from Outback Steakhouse would be much appreciated.
I love your blog and wouldn’t want you to change a thing. I love your balance of personal, motherhood, beauty , and hair posts. Thanks for all of your hard work on your blog. I also love that most of your posts are written, but I love that every once in a while there is a video to watch. Great overall balance. You are the best!
I like when you share what you’re doing/planning on doing and why with your hair. For instance you mentioned that you were growing it out recently and sometimes I’m just curious about your personal hair journey.
I feel like a longtime reader and I love your blog so much! I would not change a thing unless maybe talking more about budget beauty products because I have a budget. But I love your hair posts, makeup! Generally everything and I love how you have added more personal snippets with your sons and just family in general.
I love surveys! Sounds like you will have a great sample of data to work with 🙂
I love your blog Kate. Keep up the good work!
I think you are doing a great job! I think you really listened to feedback which I really appreciate and your blog reflects that!! I don’t even remember how I stumbled upon this blog but there just aren’t a lot of blogs out there with really relatable authors. You seem like “one of us” and I love getting advice and tips from someone who gets real life!
I love your blog and love everything you post.
i would love to know basics on how to style hair. I’m 52 but don’t feel old. I’d like to know hairstyles that would be appropriate. Also, how to deal with dry frizzy hair. I use the products you suggest and bought the hairdryer you recommended(which I love) but I still don’t get the results. I wonder what I’m doing wrong. Thanks!
I have been a reader for years. First found you through Pinterest of course! We are the same age and I have enjoyed “growing” up with you hahaha. I wouldn’t change anything about your blog but I’m sure you might want some more ideas to develop. Loved the video of you cutting your friends hair and working behind the chair. More of those, which I see you are doing soon. Just a thought…could you have a “Like” button on your posts? This is the first time I have ever commented but naturally (thanks to FB) I want to “Like” them!
Keep up the awesome work! Thanks to you have been so much more experimental in my style, makeup and hair!

I did the survey and thought of one thing I’d love to see a tutorial or two on after I finished it haha.. maybe some ideas on what to do with wet hair? I’m a mom of a 4 and 2 year old so quick and easy would be great! And I wouldn’t change anything about your blog! I love it!
Hi Kate!
I filled out the survey days ago and an idea has just come to me. It might be fun to see how to use some of your hair tutorials (or new ones because we love them), and fit them to specific outfits. For example, a business hair style with a suit for a meeting, or a sleek hair style with a chic ‘night out’ outfit. A style for a high collared turtle neck, or an open back blouse, for the beach under a floppy hat…, etc., etc.!!
You’re doing a fabulous job keeping us ‘in the know’!
Thanks a bunch…
Thanks for the survey! 🙂 Would it be possible for you to post an overview of the results here in the blog as well? I know it’s mainly for your personal use only but it would be nice for me as a reader to also know where other people are coming and what they like reading best.
Love your blog and would change very few things. It IS hard to tell which products you truly love when they are sponsored so maybe cut back on that? I don’t like reading thru and getting into a product then seeing it was sponsored because then I feel duped. 🙁 Keep up the fantastic work and don’t worry about the negative Nancy’s (probably an error right there…lol). This isn’t English or grammar class.
Hi Kate!!
LOVE your blog as I am completely hair illiterate! Just wondering, have you heard of the Tyme Iron? Any chance you would review it for us?
Thank you!!
Amy
I love your blog. It’s so well-done and you have a GREAT personality. I would love to learn basics for coloring hair. I never know what to say or how to explain what I want when I go to get it done. I feel like me and my hairdresser are speaking two different languages! So I always just defer to what she thinks is best (which has been working, luckily). But I’d love to be able to advocate for myself. Also, options for dealing with gray hair. How to keep up the color, dealing with the texture changes, etc.
Thanks for the great content, Kate. I love all of your hair tutorials and tips. I completed your survey, but couldn’t find a way to capture my feedback well, so wanted to add a comment. The hair tutorials are best in video format, but I really wish other content, like your monthly favorites, were presented in written format. At times, I just want to hear what you thought of a specific product and I could easily scan a written post. Thanks!
I also found this blg for the hair tutorials but I stayed because I like everythi about this blog!
Greetings from the Netherlands!
Oeps lots of typos! blg = blog , everythi = everything :-))
