Simple Summer Beauty

Different Plans

lotion1

Despite the fact that I love beauty products and genuinely enjoy taking time to do my hair and makeup, I like my beauty routine to be rather simple. I don’t bother with extensions or false lashes, but there are a few things that always get priority. I always take the time to blow dry my hair, put on some makeup, and apply a body moisturizer. There is little more irritating to me than greasy and sticky lotion. The NEW St. Ives® Fresh Hydration Lotion Spray gives you moisturized skin without the heavy lotion feel.   lotion2

When I tried the St. Ives Fresh Hydration Lotion Spray, I was so pleased to see that it doesn’t spray all over the place. It comes out in an even and steady stream that covers your skin in a perfect amount of hydration. A quick swipe of your hands and your body is perfectly moisturized. Of the three scents, which are Energizing Citrus & Vitamin C, Naturally Indulgent Coconut Milk & Orchid Extract, and Naturally Soothing Oatmeal & Shea Butter, my favorite is the Naturally Indulgent Coconut Milk & Orchid Extract. I love the smell of coconut products in the summer time. It’s not an overpowering scent and it’s just enough to just be a “nod” to a fresh coconut instead of smelling like you are doused in it. lotion3

I tossed the St. Ives Fresh Hydration Lotion Spray in Naturally Soothing Oatmeal & Shea Butter in my pool bag because it’s the perfect formula to apply to my skin after a day in the sun. The pool I go to in the summertime is a salt water pool and tends to be a bit more drying than a chlorine pool. The Naturally Soothing Oatmeal & Shea Butter not only smells soft and nourishing, but it helps my dry skin feel much better with a quickness. It may seem like a simple step, but using the St. Ives Fresh Hydration Lotion Spray saves a bit of time all the while ensuring your skin looks great for the summer months.

I’m really excited about this product because lotion is usually the step I skip in the morning when I’m running late. Mainly because not only does it take so much time to put the lotion on, I usually have to wait until it dries to get dressed. This sounds like it would make my morning routine much faster, without skipping any steps. 🙂

Does anyone know if these scents are available in their “regular” lotion line?

Lindsay says · 06.05.14

Kate! A great big Canadian “Thank you!!!” to you. A Target just opened up close (2 and 1/2 hours away is close right? lol) to where I live and no one was raving about it but I checked it our based on all the wonderful things you have to say about it and honestly, I could spend my whole pay check in there. Easily. It’s great and I just wanted to say thank you for inadvertently introducing me to the fantasticness that is Target. Oh, and while I was there I bought the oatmeal & shea butter spray lotion and it’s fantastic for my very dry, very sensitive skin. And, as a testament to the quick absorbency, I spayed it on, got dressed and then drove an open cab tractor all day and didn’t come back totally caked in dirt like I would with a normal lotion. So that plus the convenience factor (quick and wont spill in my luggage) makes it a win for me!

Reply
Katie says · 06.05.14

The Oatmeal and Shea Butter… I need all the extra hydrating lotion i can get.

Reply
Amy Wyatt says · 06.05.14

Oatmeal and Shea!

Reply
Demitad says · 06.05.14

I love coconut too, but I am sensitive to a lot of scents so I’m afraid the orchid might be too much. The citrus would probably be my choice for this reason. I also like the idea of having a conditioner that’s on the light side. This primarily why I never wear liquid makeup, don’t like the caked on feel or something really heavy.

Wyndy T says · 06.05.14

I can’t believe you actually liked this spray lotion- I’ve tried it twice and it was horrible. The spray gets clumped up and you don’t get a nice even spray, it feels extremely cold since it comes out in unevenly. I have used up around 3 bottles of the Vaseline spray lotion and have never had that issue, the spray comes out evenly and is extremely more efficient than this one. I wonder if this is a positive review since this is a sponsored post?

I’ll start with the oatmeal. This is perfect for my hubby and son who have dry skin but don’t want to take the time to rub in lotion!

Reply
Amy says · 06.05.14

Unlike you I do not moisturize – to time consuming and my skin still seems dry all the time. I am sure that would be different if I used lotion on a regular basis but again, time consuming.
If this works as well as you say it does I am in! I would really have a difficult time choosing between the Oatmeal & Shea Butter and your 1st choice. I would have to sniff and decide.

I swim a lot in the summer, so I would love to try the soothing Oatmeal and Shea Butter option! I need a good, neutral lotion to offset all the chlorine and sunshine, but that doesn’t add another strong fragrance to the chlorine smell. I already use St. Ive’s Oatmeal and Shea Butter lotion at work, and I really like the light, natural fragrance. I slap it on after washing my hands and all the time during the winter to combat the dry heat in our building.

Thanks!

I would love to try the Naturally Indulgent Coconut Milk & Orchid Extract! As a new momma, this would save so much time and mess with moisturizing. Its so easy to forget that step when your running around trying to keep track of the house, the baby, etc. 🙂
