Cookie Week: Almond Cresent Cookies

next
New & Old Christmas Decor

Hi there!  I’m so delighted to be a guest on Kate’s blog to share one of the most delicious cookie recipes! I was introduced to this recipe by my Mother-in-Law when we were home for Christmas.  I promise they are impossible not to love!  Another great thing about this recipe… they couldn’t be easier to make.  Unlike most of the wonderful women I follow in the blogging world, I am not the worlds best chef.  In fact, I usually add at least one (unintentional) imperfection to every dish I make.  I like to think it’s my own personal touch!  Well, these cookies are so easy even I couldn’t mess them up!

Almond Cresent Cookies

(makes about 24 cresents)

2C flour

.5lb butter

2/3C almonds

1/2C sugar

Cinnamon Sugar Topping

2Tbsp Cinnamon

1C Sugar

1.  Ground the almonds (I had fun using my Magic Bullet to accomplish this)

2.  Cream the butter and sugar.  Slowly add the flour and the ground almonds.

3.  Take generous amounts of the dough and roll into a small ball, then shape into a cresent.  Place cresents on parchment paper and bake at 350 degrees for 7-10 minutes.

4.  Remove from oven and allow to cool for a couple minutes.  (look at how cute they are!)

5.  Mix together cinnamon and sugar in a large ziplock bag.  Carefully mix cresent cookies and cinnamon sugar mixture together – Coat cookies generously.

6.  Allow the cookies to set for a few minutes and then enjoy!

I hope you have a chance to make these!  If you do, let me know what you think! xoxoxox Lauren (Pursuing Dreams)

I’ve been eating these since I was a child. My grandmother makes them for me from a German recipe she has had for many years. The only difference is that she puts powdered sugar on the top instead of cinnamon sugar. It’s a must try 🙂 And I’ll be sure to try the CS way too 🙂
