Antique Shopping

My Makeup
A while ago, when I was visiting family in Illinois, my mom, sister and I did some antiquing.
I found some great things (old window, suitcase, bottles) that I will get from my mom in a few days, but I was able to pack and bring these mason jars back to NC with me!
Each came as shown, and they were only $8.00!

Aren’t those wooden spools awesome?
The little mannequin, who my sister and I named Doodle (which is actually my mom’s nickname too) came from a local resale store called Passages. We were using her for jewelry display, BUT my sister was just surprised with a full size dress form! It’s perfect for our Etsy shop since people will be able to see the full size of the necklace!
Are you much of an antique-er? I’m usually more of a looker than a buyer. But I couldn’t pass up those mason jars!

I’ve been putting off doing much antiquing because we haven’t moved into our home yet, but with closing being in two weeks I’ve started looking for some neat pieces to add.

Those are great! I found some old wooden spools in the spring – some are red and orange too and I’ve got them in a glass jar in my studio. Love the mannequin 🙂

What a great find! I love how vintage it all looks in the mason jar. Hmm, maybe I could recreate it for my house, since I won’t be headed to Illinois anytime soon. 🙂

Uncommon objects in Austin Tx is an amazing store! It’s filled from top to bottom (literally) with awesome antiques. Everyone should make a trip there!

I’d love to know where you go antiquing in Illinois. I’m originally from there and always looking for places to go with my family when I visit!
