Meet The Team: Jordan Maunder

Jordan, that beauty pictured above, is basically a non-blood sister to me. Long story short, a newborn photographer that was recommended to me when David was born never delivered the photos she took and completely refused any contact. I wasn’t the only client of hers who was scammed, she did that to many couples with their wedding photos as well! It was cruel, especially for those who used her to shoot their WEDDING which cannot be duplicated!

I received an email from Jordan at that time that was a friendly, “Hey if you ever need a photographer” kind of thing and I wrote her back, wiping tears from my eyes, telling her that I’d love to get some newborn photos taken of my son before he gets out of this newborn phase!

Jordan showed up two days later and the rest is history.

She’s extremely talented, a joy to be around, and genuinely has a love for the full composition of the photo. I’m blessed to have met her in this season of life in particular, and she has shot numerous projects for The Small Things over the past 6 years.

Here is a little bit more about Jordan.

One. How long have you been a photographer and how long have you worked with The Small Things Blog?

I have been a photographer for 6 years now and working with Kate for about 5 and a half (since little Dave was about 2 months old!) I don’t know where the times goes.

Two. What do you love about your job?

I love that my job lies in the bridge between artistry and service. I get to be creative on a daily basis with the end goal of providing a really special and important product to someone. It certainly never gets boring and keeps me on my toes!

Three. If you could compare yourself to any animal, which would you choose and why?

If I had to compare myself to an animal, I would say a little black bear. I love cozying up inside during the winter, I thrive in the mountains, and I am definitely easily frightened.

This is awesome to get to see some of the behind the scenes people that you work with. I remember that story about the photographer who did not deliver the photos, hard to believe it has been that long. Jordan does beautiful work, thanks for sharing !!

The second line of Jordan’s profile should read “never”, not “ever. Caused a bit of confusion.

Hey Kate! I remember you recently doing a video I think it was on stories about your favorite roll brush hairdryer. I think you said the Revlon one was too hot but I cannot remember which one you said was your favorite. Can you please let me know? Thank you

Ha! I had to re-read this because I thought you were saying she was the one that scammed everybody. Glad to find out it was a happy ending.
