My 3 Minute Face

Mind on cooler temperatures. . .

3minuteface-2

I laugh a little every time I see a comment from a reader asking how I find time to do my hair and makeup every day. I’m always thinking, “Well, you must not follow on snap chat because you would see I’m rarely wearing makeup and often either talking about going to boot camp or leaving boot camp!”

But seriously, more often than not I’m in minimal makeup with my hair in a messy bun or low ponytail.

So today I’m sharing my 3 minute makeup routine for days when I either don’t have time, or don’t want to take much time!

3 Minute Face products: It cosmetics CC+ in light, Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes + lower lash duo, Benefit Roller Lash, Cherry Bloom lash fibers, Hourglass Arch brow pencil in platinum blonde, Make Up For Ever Full Cover Concealer, Dream Bouncy BlushBobbi Brown Cream Shadow Stick in Bark, Sephora pro smudge brushFresh Sugar lip treatment in pink,

The cream blush is the hero of this look. I like wearing cream blush anytime my makeup is light and I don’t use a powder to set anything. I find it blends in so much better and looks much more natural!

p.s. As you can see, I still haven’t figured out the right white balance on my photos and that’s why my hair is yellow. 🙁

More about the shadow stick here and my go-to easy hair style: the infamous messy bun!

I love how clean and fresh it looks! White balance is so hard to get right. I highly recommend an ExpoDisc 2.0. It will get you a perfect white balance every time and it’s so easy to use. I heard about it from photographers Jach and Jody Gray. They have an awesome tutorial on how to use it too. Hope that helps!

Kate says · 09.26.16

I actually bought it but I don’t know how to use it yet!

Whoops I meant Zach and Jody. You won’t find a tutorial from Jach and Jody 😉 Oh cool! It is a little backwards but once you get used to it you’ll love it. Here’s their 1st of 5 videos on how to use it. https://youtu.be/yzrZbftPPvE

The plant stand, I know you said you don’t want to build, but your husband is handy 😉 Jessica Garvin did a tutorial:

Hi! Snapchat fam here! Would you share an update on your bootcamp progress? I know you updated after like your first month on your inches lost but I’d love an update! I can see a difference in your face for sure. I need to get motivated :-/ My gym offers Zumba and I am the absolute worst at that and I need to find something I like but the gym has limited classes that don’t cost extra (I am only paying $5 a month with a work plan, so I don’t want to complain or change gyms at that rate!)

This is my kind of makeup look! I have mascara only days, this type of makeup days, and then full-blown makeup days. This one is my favorite though! I think adding a smidge of color to the lips is something I’ll add since I don’t do that very often.

The lightest!

Love this look! Another great concealer option is Mary Kay’s new formula. I hated the old one, but tried the newest one when it came out recently and I love it! It covers redness, dark spots, and under eye circles amazingly well.

Will this last you all day? Even if I use a primer, I feel like my makeup is gone within an hour or two of applying. How do I make it last?

This looks great!
Re: the color of your photos – I know next to nothing about photography and videography, but my co-worker (who IS a videographer) recently figured out that using the gray balance card is SO much better than using a white one. It helps the camera adjust to the light in the space. It’s small (about the size of a dinner plate) and made all the difference in the world for the video shoots he does for my projects. I hope that helps!

Hi! I’m a new follower. I love how fresh this look is. I love more realistic and relatable makeup looks for busy days. You are so pretty and your skin is beautiful even before the makeup. I’m trying to up my routine and improve my skin at the moment. ?

I have had a medium blue permanent eyeliner for about 10 years now. I am thinking to make my eyeliner more neutral. I would like to layer the Bobbi Brown cream eye shadow stick on top, but I don’t know what color would work over blue. What do you think?

I purchased Hourglass Eyebrow pencil in Blonde and have found it too hard to apply though I love the pencil shape and that it has its own brush.

Also, I also have short eyelashes and I began to use RapidLash Eyelash Serum (in a Silver tube) by RapidLash on the base of the eyelash in July. It’s the end of September and my eyelashes boosts the appearance of the eyelashes. They are getting longer and appear fuller. I purchased one more tube at Ulta figuring it will even look better and then I will be done. I wear a light coat of mascara without fibers as it is my preference due to eye irritation. RapidLash also makes a formula for eyebrows as mine were sparse and thin due to incorrect tweezing. I wanted my eyebrows to be fuller at the start. They are courser and have grown in, but I one eyebrow still needs growth.

I’m so thankful you did this video. It gave me the kick in the pants I needed to pull myself together and look half way alive when taking my four year old to preschool. I committed to trying this for the rest of the week after watching it and it’s completely so able. THANKS!

I’ve been wanting to try the it cosmetics cc cream for a while and I think you just convinced me… However, I typically apply a moisturizer after washing my face, then my normal make up (bare minerals).. should I still apply the moisturizer or does the cc cream take its place?

I just got some travel size samples of the CC+ SPF!
Those blushes look super easy to use because they’re sheer enough to do light coverage.

Hi Kate. Love your makeup and hair tutorials. Can you tell me the color of the Dream Bouncy blush? I like the very subtle color it adds – I always look like I am wearing blush and I think I might be using too much of a contrasting shade.

Have you tried the Fanola no yellow shampoo? Can’t leave on really long and it tones down the gold and yellow really well.
Didn’t know if you’ve tried it

Can you tell me about your hair color? I am having trouble finding someone to keep my blonde hair blonde, and not white – both you and I have the same coloring, blond/blue, but I don’t like my hair so white – born a blonde and would like to keep it that way – thanks! I’m 63 years old BTW.
