So all this time I have been showering without a cap. Never thought about the steam issue. Just ordered the cap on Amazon. I bought a set of the hair towels from QVC years ago. I think they are called Turbie Twist. Love them and would never go back to a towel.

Could you do a video on caring for dry hair? Now that we all have sun damaged hair!!

Do you like the Roller Lash without fibers? I have fibers (tarte) but they irritate my eyes. 🙁

Shower cap. For many, many years I’ve used the Tassi from QVC. Roommates always laugh at me but I don’t care. I take most showers without washing my hair. I wish they would sell it on its own again because I need a back up! http://www.qvc.com/CatalogSearch?langId=-1&storeId=10251&catalogId=10151&keyword=tassi

No surprise. Amazon has Tassi hair wraps.

I was trying to remember the name of that nail polish so Im glad you mentioned it. It’s like one step above a clear polish, I like it!

Totally agree with you on the Kenra Dry Thickening spray and also the Essie Gel Polish. It makes it though crazy Crossfit workouts for me! You must try the Urban Decay Lipstick in “Safe Word”. Its a beautiful nude shade.

LOVE the lip color you’re wearing in this video – I just tried to find it on Anthropologie’s website. If you have a chance to confirm, is it Geranium? Thanks so much!

I use a turban like that and my daughter calls it my ice cream hat too! 🙂

Oh my goodness… I’ve never thought of using a shower cap! I honestly thought they didn’t matter and only old women who need to protect their perms used them! 🙂 Totally put one in my Amazon cart. Also – your sis just wrote about the Vinylux weekly top coat (which I also added to my cart. You girls are bad for my wallet! :-P). Do you have an opinion on which is better between the Essie Gel Couture and the Vinylux weekly top coat? I realize that what works for one person might not be the best for another, but I’m just wondering if you have tried both and had an opinion for you. 🙂

Essie gel polish in “make the cut”…. It might as well be re-named “K8 Small Things” because when I used it that’s all I could think about was how PERFECT this shade is for your liking! Gray base- lilac tint…. It’s basically a walking ad for you, haha!

googling now!

Jennifer says · 09.03.16

OOOOH yay! I hope you like it as much as I think you would!

And FYI- the Google pics make it appear white-ish… I bought it and tried it myself and it appears WAY more lilac gray then any of the images show!

I’ve bought Kendra 25 Hairspray twice now and each time the nozzle clogs and sprays really funny afterwards. Have you had this happen?

Reply
Kate says · 09.01.16

Make sure you press the nozzle ALL the way down when you use it and also run it under warm water if it clogs

Same here…very aggravating!

Hi Kate,
Have you ever done a ‘drugstore’ favorites video, or do you use many drugstore products? I love your style and have followed your blog for a couple of years now but I don’t really have the budget for high end hair/makeup products.
BTW…..just wanted to let you know that I first came across your hair tutorials on YouTube and for the first time in my life, (I’m 33) I feel like I can really curl my hair like I’ve always imagined but never quite been able to achieve so Thank-you!

Hi Kate….what is the shade of lipstick you are wearing in your video. I doesn’t look like the Urban Decay one you talked about, but I could be wrong. If it is a different one could you share? Thx

It’s a gorgeous shade. I would love to know what it is too.

The BlowPro shower cap is a must (I’m already on my second!), and I’ve been using the Aquis quick dry towels for years but didn’t know they came out with a turban. Thanks for sharing.

Your eyes look awesome! I didn’t like roller lash my first try but I will take your advise and try it again. What shadow are you wearing, it looks very nice?

How does the Kendra thickening spray compare to the Amika texture spray-which is awesome!

Just wanted to tell you that after watching a couple of your videos with my 3 yo little girl she is now hooked. She loves your videos and asks to watch the “makeup videos with the pretty lady with pink lips”. She has good taste already.

I, too, love the Benefit Roller mascara. It is by far the best mascara I have ever used. I still curl my eyelashes too, but this mascara just gives the “omph” they need. I recommend it to anyone who wears contacts as well (have not had any irritating eye issues).

I love that Essie nail colour and will have to try it. Same with the shower cap. Great tips once again!!

I was just on Pinterest and noticed one of your hair styles being pinned. I clicked on it and it took me to a different persons hair blog. Wasn’t sure that was allowed so I wanted to let you know.

….it was a picture of you, not just your hair styles! ?

I love watching your videos and this one inspired me to go out and get my fall “look”. Thank you for posting.

When I was younger (I’ve just started my 5th decade) I made sure that I only bought the best beauty products for my skin. I also had regular facials, ate a clean diet and used sun protection (mostly kept my face out of the sun so I could avoid using chemical SPFs). Now that I’m at this new decade, I’ve switched all my products to be free of parabens, sulphates and phthalates and they must be organic. It was a difficult transition to make until I found some sample products to try but now I won’t go back. (I use Dr. Haushuka right now).
I’m still sampling make up. I found a line from Germany and so far so good.
I’m finding the switch to organic hair products to be the most difficult as I have somewhat curly hair and I love Redken for keeping my frizzies in check. I don’t want to use the chemicals, especially the silicon but I still use it every 3rd wash for a sleek blow-dry. I make my own dry shampoo because all the ones on the market, other than the health food store have they all contain isobutane (which is number 7 on the Environmental Working Group‘s website and is linked with organ toxicity and listed by the Environment Canada Domestic Substance List as “expected to be toxic or harmful) and they have endocrine disruptors like propylparabens.
I hope that by doing these new things, I will honour the beauty on the inside and the out and be responsible to the planet God has given us to manage.

Hey!

I’m dealing the super cool post-pregnancy hair loss. Woohoo! Motherhood is so glamorous! Would you recommend the thickening spray to add oomph on the days that, ya know, I actually do my hair? 🙂

I’ve actually never tried any Bobbi Brown products. I’ve heard such great things and I love their simple packaging!
