My Work Space

My office is the third floor of our house. It was described as a media room/bonus room, and has a full bath included. When I walked up it it upon the initial walk through of the house, I knew this would be a perfect spot for my office.

It has the best light, and it allows me to work from home but still be separated enough from the boys so they can play and be loud even when I’m filming.

I was using a grey desk that I had from our last house in place of the white one pictured above, but it was too small for the space and too small for ME! I needed to spread out a bit, and since my desktop is quite large, I needed a deeper table for a more comfortable distance.

Usually there is more clutter on my desk, but I try to keep it contained in cute boxes!

I really work better when I’m in a clean space, but I’m terrible about keeping up with the organization. I work up until the moment I hear the boys stir, so I usually drop everything and go downstairs when I’m done for the day. It has helped, though, to create specific spaces for certain things, like my pens and my cords.

I love the pottery barn wall units. I shot this at the beginning of the month so they are empty but I usually scribble quick notes on there that I need to see frequently. And the calendar gives me a rough plan for the following month which is helpful.

If you were to pop in unannounced you’d likely see nail polish or other lip balm samples on my desk too. And a few hand creams as well since I apply it multiple times when I work!

I’m so thankful to have a job that allows me a great deal of freedom and flexibility, but is also something I truly love!

You must be a morning person. What time do you wake up in the morning to work?

I’m not actually! I usually start work around 8 when the boys are with a sitter 🙂

I thought you were working before the boys woke up, and I was super-impressed!

I love the gold box from west elm. I found a similar look at target for around 19.00 and hear that they have some at Hobby Lobby as well. I just wish I could find something in silver. = ( love your space!

Love, love, love your desk! It’s so light and airy, and gosh, that’s my dream desk right there, though with a copper desk lamp instead, fitted with an Edison bulb. Love the minimalistic approach you took with the space and colour scheme.

Your space is just lovely! I wish I could keep myself half as organized + clutter-free. I really need to make a trip to Ikea and West Elm for some of those cute boxes and organizers. Thanks for sharing!
