My husband was traveling for work recently and I took that as an opportunity for an at home spa night. When he’s home, I like hanging with him of course, but since he was gone, I indulged in nearly 2 hours of much needed “me time”.

It’s winter so my skin is thirsty and flakey. I wanted to exfoliate all the things and moisturize all the things too. So, in the shower I washed my hair and then applied my favorite deep conditioning mask. While I let that sit, I used the Laura Mercier Fig body scrub on my entire body. I also exfoliated my face with this gentle exfoliator. Afterwards, I rinsed my hair and generously applied Fresh Cream from neck to toe. I love the scent of that body lotion – it’s the softest and most pleasant scent!

I applied a healthy dose of the Drink Up Intensive Mask and let that soak in.

Next I did a foot peel, this one to be exact, and after that I slathered on a good bit of the True Blue Foot Cream from Bath and Body Works. That stuff is super hydrating!

I had taken the nail polish off my nails so I applied a coat of the Julep Oxygen Nail treatment. I love the soft pink hue it gives my nails.

And finally I put on a good bit of the Bite agave lip treatment. This is a holy grail product for me and I use it nightly!

It felt so good to crawl into bed after an evening of pampering. I highly recommend making this a monthly thing (or weekly for crying out loud!).

I finally bit the bullet a few weeks ago and bought the Bite Agave Lip Mask. It’s very pricy, so was a hard purchase. But has come highly recommended by a couple youtubers. And honestly, I am not loving it. Do you have to use for weeks before seeing results? It’s just not doing what I have paid it to do!

Did you use the Agave mask in conjunction with a lip scrub? Personally, I don’t care for it unless I scrubbed my lips first.

Yaaaassss!! My hubby will be out of town tomorrow night and I am planning on doing the same thing! Thanks for some new product recommendations to try 😉 I have had the deep conditioner on my wish list, so I might pick it up today. And the lip mask has been a life saver this winter!

Sounds lovely, but where were the kiddos? If I tried to do this my 3 girls would instinctively know i was doing something for myself and wake up or barge in on me!! The only way I can get a relaxing bath is if my hubby entertains them or heads them off if they wake up.LOL!!

Yes! I am doing good to shower on most days.

I was thinking the same thing. If I am the solo parent, there’s no way I would have “nearly2 hours” to pamper myself like this. Inevitably one would wake up and need me, mid-mask treatment or foot soak… Actually, their favorite time is when I’ve painted my nails and am waiting for them to dry. Besides, being alone with small children when you’re used to having a bit of extra help or relief from the other parent, is exhausting. I usually just want to plop myself into bed the moment their heads hit their pillows.

My guess is that they were in bed. When my four were little, and my husband would travel, I would stay up late working on projects that I never got to when he was home. I knew that after 8 pm was “me time” because my guys had a good sleep schedule. Just a guess, but it’s a great motivator for smooth bedtimes.

I need to try the lip treatment as well as the nail treatment! I love having a night of pampering with hair masks, face masks, bubble baths.. They really are the best. Hmm, maybe I’ll do that tonight!! haha Thanks for the great idea!

My husband works overnights for most of the week, so on some Friday I give myself a spa night too. It truly feels nice to jump in bed after pampering yourself, it feels ever better if you’re sheets just came out of the dryer and they’re still warm and fluffy!! 🙂

Oh I love these. I recently wrote about how to do an at home spa day as well. It’s a fun way to make the most of a day off.

Kate, I have yet to try the Pureology hair mask, but YOU NEED TO TRY the it’s a 10 miracle hair mask. The one in the blue tub. It smells so good! and leave your hair feeling like silk, literally like silk! I teach Zumba and I had a class right after I used this mask and I could not stop feeling my hair. The class probably thought I was doing some ultra sexy moves w/ all this hair feeling but I wasn’t….Just could get over how soft and silky it was. Anyways give it a try! 🙂

I have been looking for a good face mask but not an overnight one because I’m scared of getting it all over my pillow and bed. I recently tried the Yes To coconut hydrating mask and really liked it!

Ahhh you totally read my mind about an at home spa night! I have been wanting one so badly, with my 1.5 year old daughter any kind of pampering during the day is out of the question lol. Thank you for sharing your products that you use! You’re awesome!

I used that Fresh Cream lotion the other day before I went to the physical therapist for work on an arm injury (long story). He looked at me and said, “Did you put lotion on before you came?” I was sheepish but admitted it. He said, “Wow! It smells REALLY good!!”

Awkward.

This will probably be deleted. I have enjoyed your blog, I buy all my makeup, skin care, hair care, personal products, shoes and handbags in the USA. either in person or online. Now it seems every time I try to access products on your blog, I am forced to the Australian version, Sephora, Nordstrom etc or I am just refused access. I find this very frustrating, I avoid buying in Australia or any sites with .au attached because allergies are a major problem for me, their products are definitely not the same quality, the ingredients are different as well as the manufacturing requirements. I have no problems with products produced for the American and European markets, this makes it incredibly frustrating to be constantly directed to sites with .au.

I don’t know why you think your comment with be deleted? And I don’t know why it’s defaulting to Australian sites. I haven’t heard of anyone else having that problem. Is that a location setting on your device or computer?

Alexis says · 02.18.16

Thank you Kate. My lap top address is New York and location services is off. I think my problem is being in Australia, every site does not default to .au, but it is very hard to predict a lot of times. It never defaults to .au when I leave the country and location services are on. I have asked the question in Australia and most times it is deleted very quickly without any response. I guess I am stuck with it. Thank you for your ideas, sadly there is no difference here. I will still enjoy reading your blog.

Was this the first time you tried the foot peel? What were your thought on how the product worked? I’ve been looking at getting the BabyFoot peel from Amazon, but it is quite pricey, so this looks like a much better option.

This is such a neat idea! Every now and then I treat myself to a treatment of some kind, but never a full spa night like this! Might have to try this sometime soon!
