Links and Loves

Capsule Wardrobe, week 2-3

Sometimes I have things I need to tell you that don’t necessarily fit into a blog post. And since my posting has been a little lighter these days, I thought to myself that now is as good as a time as ever to add a little mini-post to the end of the week.

So, links and loves.

Would you rock rose gold hair? I could be talked into it I think.

I’m sure you’ve already heard about this podcast because I, too, have been seeing it everywhere, but I’m only into the first episode and it’s pretty interesting. I’m not a good multi-tasker when something visual is on (tv or movie) but I can focus on something and listen to a podcast well. While I’m at it, if you’ve never listened to any stories from This American Life, you should start. I love imagining the time when the prime media entertainment within the household was radio.

I cannot seem to be satiated when it comes to clementines. Little is riskier than committing to an entire box of clementines at the grocery store, am I right? Rumor has it they should be heavy, firm, and bright in color. The strategic orange mesh can be deceiving. Make sure you look up close to make sure they are actually bright orange!

I’m a CND Vinylux lover, but I’m curious about this hyped up new nail lacquer.

Perhaps the most classic watch in history. . . in rose gold! PLUS promo code “thesmallthings” for 15% off at danielwellington.com

I tried to get into my bed the other night and didn’t quite make it. Like, I sort of slid off the edge. Aka, my belly got in the way. I’m only 26 weeks pregnant. I think I may resemble a torpedo by the end of January. This isn’t a link or a love, I just had to tell someone.

I’m not in the market for a new bag, but if I was . . . this one would be on my short list!

My friend Kacia got me hooked on drinking water from these cute jars when I was in pittsburgh a few weeks ago. She even sent me a few as a gift! Now I’m pining for a leather cuff.

Um, YUM. This crock pot apple cider looks both easy and delicious.

A new way to wear blush.

That hair is stunning. My stylist uses Redken, what formula would I ask for? I’m a control freak and don’t trust enough to just ask for rose gold hair, I need specifics, Kate 🙂

My husband introduced me to podcasts- they’re perfect for both of our long daily commutes. This American Life is definitely my favorite, but we are so addicted to Serial too! We anxiously await Thursday morning when we can listen to the new episode then love to dissect it that night when we’re home together. Not that you probably have loads of free time, but I also like Stuff You Missed in History Class and Stuff You Should Know!

LOVE Serial! I’m obsessed! I listen to Fresh Air, Radio Diaries, Dan Savage (for adults only), The Moth, and sometimes Selected Shorts (it can be boring at times…), TAL is my all time favorite! I bought the app years ago and have listened to every episode.

That podcast in unreal… so good and definitely breaking up my Gilmore Girls binge watching! I am 9 weeks pregnant with my first baby and already starting to show. I know I should be all “ignorance is bliss” because it’s my first and I should think this belly is cute… but I know more than that which pretty much just means I’m going to be huge, and fast!

I personally LOVE posts like this. I feel like we, the readers, get to know you a little better, kind of get to see how your thought process works, and just generally get a better sense of you as a person, not just as a hairdresser/makeup aficionado.

Loving this post. The rose gold hair is beautiful, how much fun would that be? (do it!)
Also, the blush technique looks great, can’t wait to try it out.

Haha! Good post about random things! I love posts like that, too! 🙂 i can’t believe in a couple weeks we’ll be celebrating Thanksgiving! Where has the time gone!? In what… less than 3 months you’ll be holding a newborn and balancing a 1 yr old on your hip? LOL. So sweet. 🙂 🙂 can’t wait to see him/her! 😉

I love the rose gold hair! I’m already blonde so it can’t be such a huge jump!! I also love that this post is just a stream of consciousness. I literally laughed out loud about sliding off the bed! Bless your heart!!! xxo! Meg

You hit the nail on the head on two of my addictions: the Serial podcast (#FreeAdnan!) and fun drinking cups.

I so love your blog and the great product ideas you share.
Bought the CND Vinylux at Ulta three weeks ago. Will be taking it back. My normally healthy nails are peeling, splitting …my nails are in a mess!! Unfortunately, it just doesn’t work for me.
Maybe the Smith and Cult will be the perfect fit.
Hugs!

Love posts like this too! It definitely opens my eyes to new products and sites. I have never listened to a podcast really or explored that and am excited to do so. Also, I live near Oak Glen in California, which is know for its apples. Excited to try this apple cider recipe. The husband and I are junkies and usually buy the premade stuff at Trader Joes (let’s get real, I put it in a crock pot and “pretend” I made it) lol.

Well lovely Lady first of all, you look beautiful no matter what shape you end up resembling by the end of your pregnancy!

Second, I love your rambling musings in this post. Never know what interesting item you’ll come up with next. I especially love that hair color….GORGEOUS!

Lastly, some of my favorite blogs (like yours) have inspired me to brave and put myself out there to start a fun blog of my own – just for me to keep a scrapbook of sorts. I’m so new to this game (and rather intimidated) but went for it anyway. I still have a lot to learn, tweak etc – but my heart is there. Today’s post I shared about my biggest passion which is scrapbooking and I thought you might want to peek as I have some great ideas for maybe David ideas for you.

Thanks and keep rocking the clementines!

Wondering if anyone has ever bought a Daniel Wellington watch? I have had my eye on one for hubby for Christmas. Would love to know what you think if you have one or know someone that does. Thanks!

And Kate. Love this post! Love it!! I am embarrassed to say I have never listened to a podcast but I am going to start today. This American Life sounds like something I would love.

I loved this post! It may feel random to you but I really enjoy it because I get to read a little bit about a lot of things–a little beauty, a little hair, food and drink, shopping, etc. Can you do more of these kind of posts? Loved it!

I love this post! I love seeing random links and thoughts that don’t quite fit into a whole blog post. I’m 14 weeks pregnant and literally can’t get enough of oranges too. Right now mandarin oranges are by obsession…I may have accidentally bought 32 mandarin orange cups while I was at Sam’s the other day. lol
