The Office!

next
The Dept. of MakeUNDER Visionaries.
Here’s a little peek into my office! I took these photos weeks ago, and now it’s a total disaster area again, but today I can live vicariously through what it should look like!

I love it. It’s so much different than my original office in our other house. And I’m very grateful that I have an entire room to work in!

I love having a separate desk for jewelry making and other crafts. And having a BIG table means I can have a lot going on at once, which is how I like it!
I found this table on Craigslist, and it was painted white. My mom and I roughed up the surface a bit with some sandpaper, painted it grey, and it was perfect!
The rug is from Ikea, and I love it, but it has taken forever to “lay flat”. I’ve since moved it from how it looks in this photo to help it along, but it may just be a little wrinkled forever. After all, it was a whopping $19.99. What can I expect!

The white table used to be my sister’s dining room table, however it was originally owned by my parents. We do a lot of furniture sharing in this family!

Interested in anything specific? I’ve labeled as much as I can in the photos below:

Hope you enjoyed a little peek into my office!

Kate, put some heavy books or boxes on your rug for several days and see if that helps “iron” it flat. Hate it when rugs do that…love it when you can get a rug that cheap! 🙂

Ditto Emily – do you remember what color you used on your walls? Been looking for a shade similar to that.

Also, the linen boxes where you labeling those IKEA, or the bookshelf they are sitting on? I’d love to find boxes like that. Did you put the label things on the front of them yourself? I love how some are centered and some are offset.

Reply
Kate says · 07.19.12

The boxes and the shelf is from Ikea. And yep, the labels came with the boxes!

It was painted that color when we moved in, so I’m not sure! Sorry!

You have such a gorgeous office. It’s calming and inspiring all at the same time! As for the rug, have you tried ironing it? Maybe turn it upside down, iron it to “loosen” the material and then lay heavy books or an upside down table on it for a while? Also, try rolling it up the opposite way and leaving it for a few days.

Yes, love this. Would love to know the paint color you used on your desk and if it is spray paint or regular paint.

Love the wall color. Wish that people you buy a house from would be sure to leave behind the leftover paint in the garage and that it would be labeled with the brand and color. There is always a need for touch up paint!!
