How to use Hot Rollers

next
Fail.
Hot Rollers can be a great way to style your hair with tons of volume! And depending on how large the curlers are, you can get a loose and wavy style, or a tight, curly style. Hot rolled hair is great either left down, or as a foundation for a half up, or full updo, style. It creates great lift and bend in the hair.

The rollers I am using in the video are these:

I have curly hair already. Could I use these same techniques to get a soft wave. My hair curls so easily so I never curl it. What tips would you have for me.
Also I started my own blog a few weeks ago. Take a look and follow me if you like. Just beware I am still leaning. Thanks http://inthekitchenandonthecouch.blogspot.com/

Hi Kate!
Thanks so much for doing a great job on my hair on Friday! Love it and my new bangs. 🙂 I just had to comment b/c I’ve already noticed how we both have the cute Nine West shoes with the flower on top (I have the grey and tan/nude pair) and now I just looked at this post and we have the same Target sweater. :o) Have a fabulous week!

I really enjoy your blog and thank you for taking the time to make these video tutorials. I am terrible at fixing my hair. I have a question related to hair, but I don’t know how to submit my question via Formspring.

I recently bought a whole bunch of sweater like cardigans to layer with from New York and Co. Love cardis! Your’s is very cute as well. I have some hot rollers and have used them a few times but always seem to have difficulty controlling the way the curls will fall. A lot of times my top layer goes all under while my bottom layer goes in different directions which is what I want it all to do. I’ll have to watch your video =)

Hi Kate, Im a hairdresser in knoxville,Tennessee, and love your blog. Just wondering if you have seen the Topstyler? I got mine back in the summer and love it. They are heated clips and you make a pin curl and clip it around the curl. They work very well.

Your hair looks amazing as always. Does your hair stay all day because of the product you use while it’s wet? ((Aquage?)) My hair never holds the style if I do anything other than flat iron it. 🙁

Hi Kate: You are darling and I love your tutorials. Even though I am old enough to be your Grandma (I am called Grammy) I have been so inspired by you and have not only “pinned” you but have recommended your tutorials to my family and friends. Wish I would have known about you last summer when I was visiting North Carolina but I live in California so I’ve gotten to know you through your blog. I love how you do your hair yourself and don’t use someone else for your tutorials. Thanks for taking the time to share your great hair styling tips. Have a blessed day.

Kate, you are a breath of fresh air! I am new to Pinterest and I came upon a pin someone had added and I am very glad I did. I am in the midst of growing my hair out and had reached a point of cutting it short again. Your tutorials have given me new hope that I can surpass this ugly stage in growing my hair out…lol I am so greatful that you take to make the tutorials and provide us with ideas, so we can feel like a new person. I have received so many comments in the last 3 days from using your tips. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Please keep sharing. 🙂

I actually have naturally curly hair, but I sometimes use rollers to get the larger, manageable curls. It’s great to see someone else using rollers. It seems like everyone I know uses curling irons!

Great video and article I have similar hairstyle, but hate using heat on my hair. So I use big Velcro rollers on dry hair to refresh my hairstyle, this is great take a few minutes to set the rollers I leave them in for a while, longer the better and I get tons of volume. After washing my hair I set it in large magnetic rollers, these are the best in both volume and curl and it holds for days. The down side you have to leave them in for while which means a day in rollers or you have to sleep in them. Takes some getting used to, I am ok with been doing it since I was a very young girl.1
