My Final Microblading Update

It’s been a while since I shared some things I’ve read or listened to, so if you’re looking for something new, check out the list below.

On Audible, I listened to the Bryan Cranston autobiography called “A Life in Parts”. I absolutely loved Bryan in Breaking Bad (one of the most gripping, best-written/acted shows on TV of all time), so it was fascinating to learn about his youth, his early acting career, and hear more of his story. He’s a very pragmatic, professional, serious actor and I found myself impacted by how down-to-earth he is. I appreciate his professional approach to his job and must admit I like him even more now that I know more about him.

I also listened to Greenlights, the autobiography by Matthew McConaughey. He’s a free spirit with a need for adventure. It was interesting to listen to him recall the time in his life that he wanted to shift gears from being a “rom-com guy”, and the uncertainty that he entered into because of that risky choice. He seems like a laid-back, funny guy, that really cares about his family and living a full life.

I’ve purchased two more books on Audible that I’m going to get into shortly. The first is “Born a Crime” by Trevor Noah. So many people recommended this, and I’m looking forward to starting it soon. And the next one is “The Golden Couple” by Sarah Pekkanen. I cannot remember where I learned of this but it seems like a thriller/mystery that has my attention so far.

On the podcast front, I’ve been enjoying Smartless, like always, and also listened to a few fascinating “This American Life” episodes. Those two are my go-to’s when I need something interesting to listen to.

I have a random recommendation for you, especially if you have kids. I bought this Butterfly Garden from Amazon and the kids have really enjoyed it! You have to purchase a cup (or two) of caterpillars from the information card inside the kit, and those get mailed to your house. Then you just watch the transformation happen. Our caterpillars have just started to hang and get into their chrysalis, so it’s almost time to move them to the butterfly mesh container before they take flight!

Speaking of Amazon, do you know that I have my own Amazon Storefront? I’ll link to it here for you. On it, you can find all of my recent recommendations from Amazon, from cloud shoes to beauty products!

Born a Crime by Trevor Noah is one of my all-time favorite books. It’s best to listen to the audio version because he narrates it and his accent draws you in.

Loved Greenlights! Read it and afterwards listened as well. The concepts f paying attention to the red lights and green lights in your life makes so much sense. Both my sis and my son has read Noah until the books were dog-eared. My son can quote passages from it. We love his humour, but then, we’re South African :-P. He came from a difficult childhood, our country is complex.
