Top 8 Beauty Discoveries of 2023

Wardrobe Essentials that are NOT clothing

I feel like I’m jumping the gun here a little bit but I’m going to go ahead and share my top 8 beauty discoveries of the year. Why eight?

Because K8’s Top 8 sounded better than K8’s top 10.

blonde hair, short hair

Without further ado, I give you my top 8 beauty discoveries of the year!

Osea Body Oil – This body oil has turned me into someone who will not skip moisturizing after the shower. I walked into Blue Mercury at Fenton in search of a body cream but left with this oil after being strongly influenced by the employee working there that day. Not only does it smell like an actual dream come true, but it hydrates my skin so well without leaving a greasy feeling behind. I know that is counter-intuitive since it’s an oil, but trust me on this one.

By Rosie Jane Dulce – This perfume stopped me in my tracks at Sephora and I’m so glad it did. It smells like the warmest, sweetest vanilla scent. It’s the opposite of floral, in the best way possible. Within about a week of wearing it, I got two compliments on it. It’s my new holy grail for a winter fragrance.

Verb Texture Spray – I’m very loyal to the Amika Un.Done Volume and Matte spray, which I still love, but this Verb Texture spray has been a very nice find! It offers a little bit more hold than the Amika texture spray, so if you want to skip out on hairspray, or simply hate using it anyway, try this!

Ouai Body Wash in St. Barts – I bought this at the beginning of the summer and swiftly bought a few more after my first use. I absolutely love the smell and it’s a very luxurious bubbling body wash. If they make it in a perfume, I would love to wear it in the spring and summer.

Shark® SmoothStyle™ Heated Comb Straightener + Smoother – I love testing all the blow dry tools, you can read more about some that I’ve used here, but this tool has truly come out on top this year. Not only is it a fantastic price point, but the oval brush, the smoothing combs, and the ease of use make it a tool that checks all the boxes for me.

Makeup by Mario Ethereal Eyes Palette – It’s been a while since I’ve used an eyeshadow palette regularly, but the shades in this palette are too good not to use. I love the mix of matte and shimmery shades, the color payoff is beautiful, and the packaging makes it easy to travel with too.

Drunk Elephant DeBronzi Drops – These drops went viral on TikTok and I finally got my hands on them in the earlier part of the year. They are really the perfect thing to mix with a moisturizer, sunscreen, or foundation. You can also wear them on their own. It’s like a tiny little self-tan in a bottle.

Summer Fridays Lip Balm – If you’re looking for a seriously moisturizing, comfortable-to-wear lip balm, this is it. You can apply just a bit for a hint of moisture or go overboard, as I do, for a heavier glossy look to the lips! The pink shade has a barely there hint of pink, it almost can’t even count, but the other shades pack a little more power.

Great list. Definitely trying the Osea Body Oil for my dry, dry body! BTW what grey top are you wearing? Is this a sweater or athletic wear. I am a big fan of grey!!

I bought the Verb spray after seeing your recommendation on Instagram and love it! This definitely gave my thin, fine hair volume. Thanks!

What product would you recommend to use on dry hair before using a flat iron? I’ve tried a couple and I didn’t like that they made my hair wet and hard. I use a heat protector when my hair is wet before blow drying.
I look forward to your recommendation!
Thanks!! Vickie
