Well, I have to admit the weather in Raleigh has improved dramatically this week! We lost a bit of humidity and have had abundant sunshine nearly every day!
I told Amanda that I feel like my work hours quadrupled with my kids in school. It’s challenging to work from home when they are home in the summer because I never want to prevent them from doing what they want to do (like swimming in the pool, for example) because I need to film. We were able to rig a good system of them going to a museum or library during one of the days so I could film in a quiet house, so it all worked out, but I’m realizing more that a quiet place to work is really helpful for me to stay focused!
Anyway, feeling more productive during my work hours allows me to feel more present and available when their home! So, I’m happy with this new routine.
They are enjoying school, they are each very social and outgoing, and there is general happiness around the house lately!
Amanda, Jordan, and I had a long lunch recently and were able to dive deep into some things that each of us has going on and I was simply reminded how deeply important those relationships are to me. To have people who know you intimately, who you can trust, and who trust you — those relationships are rare and special.
I have a quick trip for work next week that I’m looking forward to! And I get to see a friend again that I wasn’t sure when I’d see next. I’ll share more soon!
