DIY Wedding Makeup Tutorial
How To Care for Hair When You Have Well Water
I’ve gotten a few questions about wedding day makeup recently so I created this makeup look as if I was doing my own makeup for my wedding day!
I did my own makeup for my actual wedding day, but I wish I had the Urban Decay All Nighter Spray because it was so hot and humid at my wedding.
You can watch the video tutorial walking you through the entire makeup look below, and I hope you learn some techniques to help you feel empowered to do your makeup.
I prepped my skin by using the following skincare products:
Ole Henricksen Banana Bright Vitamin C Serum
Bobbi Brown Extra Repair Moisture Cream
Makeup Products:
Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay-in-Place Foundation – a very, very long-lasting full coverage foundation!
Bobbi Brown Under Eye Corrector – helps “correct” problems like dark purple circles under the eye.
Charlotte Tilbury Magic Away Concealer
Laura Mercier Secret Brightening Powder for Under Eyes
Charlotte Tilbury Bronze & Glow Palette – Adds such a lovely definition to the face.
NARS bronzer in Laguna – A warm bronzing powder.
bareMinerals Gen Nude Eyeshadow + Primer in Low Key – I love a cream eyeshadow as a base or simply as the color I use for the eye look. Low Key is a warm, toasty nude.
Tartelette in Bloom Clay Eyeshadow Palette (used shades Smarty Pants, Jet Setter, and Charmer)
Marc Jacobs Highliner Gel Eye Crayon in Earth(Quake)
Benefit Roller Liner Waterproof Liquid Liner
Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara
Urban Decay All nighter Setting Spray – One of the very best setting sprays to keep your makeup looking flawless. If you do ONE THING from this makeup tutorial, use this after completing your makeup!!
Laura Mercier Foundation Primer
Bobbi Brown Luxe Lipstick in Pink Nude and Pink Cloud
Charlotte Tilbury Lipliner in Pillowtalk
Not used but would also recommend:
Make Up For Ever Full Cover Concealer
Naked2 Basics Eyeshadow Palette
Charlotte Tilbury Rock ‘N’ Kohl Eyeliner in Bedroom Black
HOURGLASS Veil Soft Focus Setting Spray
My quick tips if you are prepping to do your own makeup is to. . .
One. Try your makeup look a few times before you officially decide that is the look!
Two. Look at yourself from all angles, taking photos from the side and back to make sure you are blending well onto the neck.
Three. Find great light for applying makeup, which is right next to a window.

Thank you for your positive and informative posts during these difficult days. Seeing your smile and the wonderful way that you interact with your children makes me happy!
Please link the tops you’re wearing! Thanks!
What shade do you use in the Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay-in-Place Foundation? Thank you!
This makeup tutorial is really help full. I love it.
So pretty! What makeup brush are you using to apply liner under your eyes and for cat eye? Are you using the Marc Jacobs Highlander Gel Eye Crayon for this?
Would you mind sharing where you got those sweet earrings? Thanks!
What is the brush you used for foundation?
So pretty!
Hi Kate, love this post! Where did you get those circular earrings? I’ve been trying to find some but am coming up short! Thanks!
As someone who emailed you about this recently, thanks for posting! Very helpful!
I LOVE this look and am trying to copy it for my daughter’s wedding at the end of this month. The wedding is outside, in NC at the end of this month, so heat and humidity will be a factor. Couple of questions 1) use the setting spray instead of setting powder? 2) what color do you use in the Charlotte Tilbury Magic Away?
