3 Things to do with your Makeup in the Fall
Smashed Potatoes Recipe
You certainly don’t need a full makeup overhaul when the seasons change, BUT there are 3 things you can do to transition your typical makeup routine from warmer weather to cooler months.
First, find a rich, hydrating moisturizer. Dry skin is never a good thing, especially under makeup! Next, introduce plum into your makeup colors! Plum or mauve is one of those colors that looks so beautiful on so many different skin colors and tones! And finally, use a highlighter! There is never a better time to start using a highlighter than now. The glow of summer heat and sunshine is gone, so faking it with a highlighter is key for your skin to still look radiant!

I began using highlighter for the first time in my life a while ago (and I’m 26…) and I love it! It’s a life-changer for sure. Next up, learn how to use bronzer, haha! 🙂

All great tips – I love incorporating plums and bolder shades into my routine. Updating my foundation shade is a must too, since I get more pale through winter!

Is there an age where highlighter is a no-no? I’m 56 and have fine lines in the area where you would highlight and I feel like it just highlights those lines.
Am I just being weird??
Beautiful! I love plums. I was looking for your eye shadow palette, but I didn’t see it. Any recommendations?
Very pretty! I’ve been looking to transition from the fun, summer look to a more subdued fall one. 🙂
you are a breathe of fresh air.
Lovely, thank you!
Could you do a piece on layering, not cosmetics, serums, lotions, retinol, hydrochloric creams, glycolic treatment etc. Same for eye treatments, please!
Thank you,
Becky
I really like the medium coverage of your foundation in this look. I know you switch foundations from time to time – do you remember which one you were using here? Thanks!
Hi! I was wondering what eye makeup you are wearing here? Is it the Marc Jacobs eyeliner in “Midnight in Paris”? Thanks! Love your blog!
Do you happen to have a link for this curved bar necklace? I love it!
I got it from Rocksbox!
