Fall shoes that are not ankle booties

A new *favorite* simple t-shirt. So good I ordered another one so now I have 2!

It seems like MLM’s are everywhere now! I appreciated this post by Anna about her experience working with a very popular one for the last year or so. I’ll admit that I’ve had a bad taste in my mouth about them in the past, and I think one of the things that bothers me is that suddenly some people that join an MLM company think they instantly become an “expert” in their new field. Like anything, it takes time to learn before you can educate and sell consumers a product. And usually it’s pretty obvious who is educated and knowledgable about the products they are promoting, and who is just selling to make a buck. Anyway, all that to say–it was refreshing to read Anna’s post about it.

A cute fall dress!

I usually wear earrings and just a delicate necklace but I love this deep blue tassel necklace! It would look great with a simple sweater.

Did you see that J.Crew Mercantile is now available on Amazon?! This is a great jacket for fall! And I love that this is a deeper rosy pink shade that would look great on so many skin tones!

School lunch goals! Jen created a printable to help keep you organized if you are packing your kids’ lunches for school!

Do you have plans for the weekend? I was supposed to go to my sisters’ but after ambushing her last weekend when myself and the kids fled the hurricane (which ended up not being as intense as predicted in Raleigh though it destroyed a lot of the coast unfortunately) we decided to push it to a different weekend. So I’m hoping to catch up on laundry, meal planning, and general house things since we will be around! Not NEARLY as fun as visiting her, but something that needs to happen nonetheless.

Sounds like you’re still going to have a productive weekend! They’re my favourite. 🙂 Me, though, I’m flying to London and Paris! I’m so excited! 😀

The MLM links are not working. Looks like the post has been deleted. Which makes my negative view of MLM more legit to me. *Whomp whomp*

I found the post just by searching “mlm” on her blog. Was a great Q & A about MLM’s in my opinion!

What is MLM? I haven’t heard this term before.

Multi-level marketing. They’re just scams. Especially essential oils, come on! “I rubbed my sweet little one’s feet with thieves oil and now he’s naturally anti-bacterial and he’s going to Harvard!” I probably wouldn’t be so hostile, but a lot of MLMs ruin women’s lives.

And you were best case scenario – a person trying to sell a product they actually like and could vouch for. The behind-the-scenes stuff of MLMs is just toxic, and a lot of people get in way over their heads. I’m glad you could get out!

I’m a licensed esthetician since 2005 and feel in love with some, not all of Beautycounter’s line. I bought a few products and then decided to sell on the side. And just like you said it takes time to learn and you can definitely tell the ones who had friends or were bloggers like yourself. They sold so much and didn’t know much about the line. I could hardly sell and I knew the ingredients and products well. It definitely left a sour taste in my mouth. I left after a year was up. They are still trying to recruit me back!

Do you buy from any reputable MLM?

I’ve purchased Arbonne products before and really love them!

I’ve purchased from LulaRoe – I like their clothes. I haven’t tried really an others. Most MLM are high priced.

There is no such thing as a reputable MLM! It’s a contradiction in terms. The problem is not the products but the business model itself. They prey on their sellers and customers. Check out websites like thepinktruth for more information.

All MLMs are exploitative and predatory and any “honest Q&A” that implies otherwise is just trying to sell you something (or, better yet, get you to sell something since that’s where their real money is anyway)! Seriously Kate, don’t spread this trash. The broken link is for the best.

As someone who runs her own MLM. Thank you for sharing Anna’s post it truly was a refreshing read. And a great perspective on something that is known for its bad reputation!
