Summer in a Swipe Makeup Tutorial

next
An easy daytime and flirty evening look

I must admit that I saw this palette on Instagram and that is what compelled me to go out and buy it! I really love the two Benefit bronzers I have, but I thought this would be great for travel and wanted to give it a try. I was truly torn between the Instant Nude Glow and Instant Warm Glow but ultimately I went with the Instant Nude Glow because I liked the blush shade better! I usually choose the lightest bronzer possible, but now that I found a self tanner that I really love, I feel like I can kick up the bronzer just a touch and it won’t look like too much of a stretch.

Watch the video below to see what I used for this warm, summery glow!

I am surprised you still need fibers after getting the lash lift. I think eyelashes look sooo much more natural without fibers!!

I’ve been eyeing this one, so pretty for summer! Did you try the one sweep of all the colors that they suggest? Was wondering how well that worked.

Hi, Kate! This is beautiful – I especially love this lip color. Can you tell us which shade of the lip product you are using? The link takes me to a red color, but I don’t think that’s the shade you’re wearing here?

Hi Kate- would love to know what your favorite foundation brush is that you use in this tutorial. Couldn’t find which one it was by searching your blog site. Thanks.

Have you tried using this palette the way it’s meant to be used? I would be interested in seeing your review of that.

Sherry says · 05.22.17

As in what way?

Reply
Andrea says · 05.22.17

Me too. You are supposed to use all the colors in one sweep, not individually. They have a special brush for it of course but think something similar would work.

Great makeup video! I am fair just like you so this is perfect 🙂 I use he concealer you used from Make Up Forever it really is the best to cover. The palette from UD is also a staple in my makeup case, has been for ages. I have heard a lot about this It cosmetics C.C cream. It seems to give you great coverage so I would like to try it for summer I think. Again great video looking for some great summer updoes for weddings or the new version of the bun that is kind of a role. I know you are super busy, but I thought I’d throw it out there 😉

Would love to know how you get such good coverage with theCC. When I use it I typically end up with a pretty sheer look.

Kate, the warm glow from this palette really shows up on camera and in your photos. It’s very natural looking and quite beautiful. It adds so much dimension to your face that is usually lost in photos. You like look great! Keep using this one, for sure.

With the eyeliner…what eyeliner are you putting on with the brush? The brown stick from Bobbi Brown? Are you adding the liquid brush black liner under your eyelashes, or on the base on top of your eyelashes? Thanks!

I too suffer with cold sores, however, once I started using L-lysine (an amino acid you can find at Walmart with the vitamins) I have never had one break out. Once I feel that spot on my lip that is painful and I know it’s coming, I take L-lysine for a few days and it goes away!
