A deep navy blue liner is really a shade that anyone can wear. Blue eyes, green eyes, brown eyes-it doesn’t matter! The deep blue shade will often read almost black, so it’s great for a strong liner look, but can also be applied so lightly (like on my lower lash line) so you just get a touch of color.

I was shopping at Nordstrom recently and picked up a MAC pro long wear eyeliner in Night Trail, and I also grabbed a Bobbi Brown art stick in Dusty Pink. The art stick intrigued me as it was a long wear lip color that was a liner + full lip color in one! ALSO IT CAME WITH A SHARPENER, and for anyone that has bought a chunky lip pencil, you know that it can be hard to find the right size sharpener for it!

For eyeshadow I used a Charlotte Tilbury palette that is no longer available (sorry!) but similar shadows would be this oneย (Bali) and this dark brownย (Espresso). I also used the Anastasia Contour Palette to add some dimension to my face.

When I was at Nordstrom I saw this beautiful new palette from Bobbi Brown, and if you are a palette kind of gal I’d highly look into it. It looks like every shade can easily be used andย it isn’t huge and clunky like some palettes can be.

You can watch a video about how I created the look below!

I felt really glam and dressed up, in the makeup department, and I know the lip color had a lot to do with that. Is there anything more classic than a rosy pink?

Can you show or tell how you used the Anastasia Contour Palette for those of us who are toying with the idea of contouring and where to start? Thanks!

What a beautiful look! Your lashes look amazing! Did you get that length with just the Bobbi Brown mascara or did you also use the Cherry Blooms?

Gorgeous! It really brightens up your face. I love Neutrogena’s navy eyeliner in Twilight Blue. If you look it up online it looks so bright but it’s a gorgeous navy and totally affordable!

I love navy eyeliner!!! I’ve been wearing it for a few years now. I was nervous that it wouldn’t look good with my brown eyes or it’d be too blue but it’s lovely.

Any chance there’s a good drug store dupe for that lip product? Please?

I have never considered wearing navy eye liner, I just assumed with having brown eyes it wouldn’t “look good.” Maybe I will give it a whirl sometime!

I love wearing navy liner. And sometimes I layer grey liner over top for more muted navy. I also have an dark olive green I wear too to mix it up.

Where are your freshly cut bangs?? I absolutely LOVE your new bangs!
I wish I had the courage to cut my hair. I’ve been in a “put-my-hair-in-a-very-easy-bun-ever-single-day” mood and it’s horrible!!! I don’t know what to do to break that!

Love the look Kate!! I have been wearing dark blue eyeliner on my lower lash line for years so it was great to see you recommend it. I always feel it brightens my eyes like no other color and makes tired eyes look much better. I’ll often trace over black liner with the blue pencil to give it a smoky blackened-blue look – which also looks really good.

Maybe you’ve answered this question before, but why do you do your eyes first? Before foundation?

Yes! Navy blue liner is so underrated. I consider it a neutral because it looks so natural when you wear it even though it doesn’t seem like it would be. It enhances my brown eye colour so much!

Kate, you look amazing! This makeup look really works for you and makes me want to try out both the eye and lip liners you used. I love the way you’re editing your videos lately too. I enjoy watching these every so often and I admire that you keep putting yourself out there even in the midst of what can be a harsh internet culture. It helps me have the courage to be vulnerable as well. You really do look so beautiful! I feel like you wear the love of God just like you wear your makeup: passionately and with a clear vision. You’re such a babe! Hope you’re having a great week!

I purchased the MAC eye pencil and love it. I am also fair with blue eyes and can’t wear black liner. I also wanted a change from my black/brown liner. Thanks for the tip. Also love your hair tutorials.

I was just wondering if you think this color combo would look ok on someone with darker hair? I have medium/medium dark brown hair and hazel eyes.

Thank you!
