4th of July fun!
Lipstick finishes
This year we’ll be heading up to Virginia to celebrate the 4th of July with my in-laws. They live in a very small town, without even so much as a stoplight, but there is something special about celebrating a patriotic holiday in a small, southern town.
We’ll go on the lake, hopefully find a parade to watch, and if David can make it (and I’m quite sure he can!), we’ll let him stay up to watch the fireworks. Luke can barely make it past 7:15p these day so I’m sure he’ll hit the hay early!
I picked up some cute, coordinating outfits from Target for the boys to wear on the 4th! I also grabbed a few festive things from the dollar section and this picnic blanket too! I have very fond memories of watching a small town parade in Wisconsin with my family and I’m so excited to introduce David and Luke to that fun! The fire trucks always scared me as a kid, just because they are so loud, but the firefighters always tossed out the best candy that we could run and scoop up off the street!
David: shorts, shirt ; Luke: shorts, shirt
More often, as the boys are getting older, I’m getting the “are they twins?” question when we are out. And while I still think they look so different, I’m beginning to see a closer resemblance as Luke is growing out of his “baby-ness”.
David insisted on pulling the wagon when we tried out the blanket and blew up the ball. He’s always looking for something to do so he can be a “worker”!
I hope you have a Happy 4th of July!

Sweet boys! Have a wonderful holiday!
I love David’s work ethic! 🙂
Oh my goodness. David and Luke are just too dang adorable. Their little faces! I love that David has the “worker” attitude and is ready to step in and help. You are raising two little boys to be great men. And the world thanks you for that (and especially mothers of daugthers do!!!). Happy 4th of July!
They are so stinkin’ cute!
Happy July 4th to you and yours! I adore watching the snaps with you and the boys, they bring me such joy! They look so cute in these outfits – I hope you and your hubby will be rocking some red white and blue too!!!
Your boys are so stinking cute! And growing so fast! If you happen to be anywhere close to Lexington, Virginia, y’all should go by Virginia Military Institute. They have a fabulous hot air balloon glow and fireworks. My son is a cadet there – if you ever get the chance, go whenever they have a parade. They have a band that plays bagpipes – very much steeped in all things tradition and ceremonial. Have a great Fourth!
sounds fun!
The hot air balloon festival in Lexington is AWESOME. It’s such a treat to see the balloons in the air with the mountains in the background. I’m heading to Carolina Beach for the 4th.
Your boys are so precious, I love seeing your photos and snaps of them. That picnic blanket looks perfect, I’m stopping by Target today to see if I can find it. Hope you have a great 4th of July weekend!
They are growing up so fast and so cute! Will you guys be at Smith Mountain Lake? My family LOVES SML, we are always there for the whole week of the 4th!
No, we won’t!
Did you use that nifty little Canon G9x to take these? I am in the market for a “momtography” camera to capture my little 10 month old day to day.
The boys look so cute! I LOVE Target!
momtography — ha! I used my Samsung Nx500 !
You’re the best! Thanks so much. 🙂
They are too cute! I bet David is going to love the big trucks at the parade! I love watching them play on snapchat. I have loved seeing their personalities grow since you started snapping. Hope your 4th of July is awesome!
Sooooo adorable!!!! I love this!! <3

If you’re gonna be on Buggs Island lake, they have a parade in Clarksville before noon on the 4th! Also fireworks just before sunset on the lake!
Thanks Liz! I found info on the parade but nothing about fireworks. Do you have a link?
My kiddos are 15 months apart and I get the twin question all the time. Your boys look adorable! And who doesn’t love Target?! Happy 4th!
They are looking so cute!!! How can you get any work done? I’d feel like staring at them the whole day!LOL
They look like siblings, not twins. I think David looks like Justin and Luke like you!
Happy 4th!
Aww they are SO adorable! I really enjoy your hair tutorials and seeing updates on your boys. I used to get the twin comment alot with my older 2 sons. They’re 3 years apart. Now that I actually have twins (3 1/2 months old), surprisingly people still ask me if the’yre twins. They are like the same weight and height. Fraternal, but growing the same. So when they ask that question it baffles me!
Just love you tutorials❣I’m new to your blog. You were saying your hair was breaking and a bit stressed, I’m a hairstylist and was wondering if you’d ever used coconut oil to condition your hair? It’s really fabulous and cheap. I prefer all the Pureology line, but goodness! It’s pricey‼️
I pray you have a fantastic Fourth and God bless you❣
As I was looking at these pictures, I was thinking how much they are really starting to look alike, and then I read your comments. They’re adorable! I follow you on Snapchat, and I always enjoy your day to day posts from home.
I’ve been living in Fayetteville, NC, and I will not be missing this level of humidity when we move back to Pennsylvania in a week.
Hope you had a great 4th!
