A Gallery for Luke
The removal of fecal matter
You may remember that elephant pic from David’s nursery post a few years ago! I found it on Society 6, the shop was called Creature Comforts, but I’m unable to find it online anymore!
Anyway, since Luke took up residence in David’s old nursery, I wanted to tweak it a little bit to make it special for him. Luke wears all of David’s old clothes, and is in David’s old nursery, and I’m probably overly sensitive to the fact that he needs to have some of his own special stuff too. I don’t want him to look back and feel like he didn’t have anything that was “his”.
I still love the way the nursery looks, and didn’t want to do major changes, but I thought I could personalize the wall above the crib a bit for Luke!
So where was the first place I looked? Minted, of course. We used Minted for our Christmas cards this year, and I’ve ordered a handful of gifts for friends off of Minted as well. Their art selection is outstanding, and the quality is equally as impressive! And oh if I could sew worth a dern, I would hoard their fabric selection.
It took about 5 separate times of scrolling through the options before my mom and I finalized on adding these prints to the wall (and a new one to the shelf by the door). Almost every one of them could have been personalized, but I decided to only personalize the “L is for Luke” print, and the “Oh the places you’ll go” print by the door.
I opted to have the prints framed upon ordering since they can be unique sizes. I’m all about keeping things simple these days!
I’m so pleased with how this finished the room off. Opposite this wall you are seeing is a wall with 2 shelves covered in newborn photos of Luke. I really feel like this is his room now and I’m glad he will be able to look back and see we made it special for him.
I reached out to Minted to see if they wanted to collaborate on this post and they agreed AND offered a huge giveaway of a $300.00 store credit to a lucky winner! The store credit can be used on anything from Minted, so don’t feel limited to only prints!
I received these prints as a gift, but was not compensated for this post.
