Although my intention was to take photos every day (aka in real time) sometimes the weeks just don’t work like that. THUS, these were all taken in about 30 minutes on Monday.

However, the NICE thing about pre-shooting all my outfits for the week is it makes figuring out what I’m going to wearΒ realΒ easy.

It’s funny because I’m already feeling like I’m going to run out of creative ideas even though I’m only 5 days into it! And the goal isn’t to avoid re-wearing the same outfit necessarily, but I think I’ll have to start trying hard to get creative after a few weeks.

I’m glad that I’ve stuck with the neutral + cool color wardrobe concept. And accessorizing with jewelry and different hairstyles is going to go a long way in making an outfit feel “fresh”.

If there are any items that you see here that I either couldn’t link to because it’s sold out, or it was not online, I’d recommend checking out the website Whenever I’m looking for a very specific item (ex. “grey mini-wedge” or “cream 3/4 sleeve sweater”) I always go to that site first!

Are you doing your own capsule wardrobe? I’d love to see photos of your outfits! Tag them with #capsulewardrobe14 in instagram and twitter!

Great outfits Kate! I would have to say the third one down is my favorite, great color combo. I look forward to seeing your creativity with hair, jewelry etc.

Jenna says · 10.30.14

I was just going to say the same thing, Angela. I love the third outfit!

Laura says · 10.30.14

Cute! Adore those boots you’re wearing with the last outfit!!

Kristin says · 10.30.14

This definitely saves on time choosing outfits but I’m wondering if it just leaves you doing more laindry in the long run?

BETH K says · 10.30.14

I love how Grits managed to sneak into a photo! πŸ™‚

BiancaZ says · 10.30.14

You are a beautiful pregnant woman!!
I admire your style from the other part of the Globe πŸ™‚
Have a wonderful pregnancy!

Jessica says · 10.30.14

Very cute outfits, Kate. You look great. My guess is that this baby is a girl. You’re carrying different than you did with David. I know… old wives tale. πŸ™‚

katharina says · 10.30.14

Love the last outfit! I’m really looking forward to seeing your weekly outfits. I like the capsule concept, even though I feel I’m not ready for it yet… πŸ˜‰
By the way: your blog is awesome, I read it every day.

Lori says · 10.30.14

I like the third outfit too.
And I was thinking you look like you are having a girl too. But I am always wrong so take that with a grain of salt!

Melissa says · 10.30.14

Adorable! You look great and I love the clothing choices!

Anna says · 10.30.14

All adorable! I feel like your going to need some sort of layering shirt with a collar at some point.

Ashley Fritz says · 10.30.14

I follow you on Blog Lovin’ and your photos prove women can be stylish while pregnant!
Best wishes to you and your growing family.

Hey Kate, you should totally invest in the app Stylebook. When I say invest, I mean the time. I think the app is only $4, but you take a pic of each item in your wardrobe, and use it like Cher’s closet in Clueless, just put some outfits together, mix and match digitally. Then you can save the “looks”, and add them to a date on your calendar! I go in on the first day of every month and plan out what I’m going to wear the rest of the month. It helps me design and accessorize new outfits without rummaging through my closet! My capsule wardrobe goes a lot farther when I can make sure I’m not wearing the same colors day after day, and can make sure somethings not in the wash when I need it!

I also love that you can add clothes to your want list, and go ahead and see how it would fit into your wardrobe while you’re at the store! The only thing is make sure to pick the right device, I did mine on my iPad, and can’t get it to transfer to my phone.

Heather says · 10.31.14

That sounds so cool! I’ve wanted something that will do that very thing. I’m going to check it out. Thanks for the tip!

Sarah says · 10.30.14

I have the same problem! like i’m programmed to feel like I should never wear the same outfit twice. What i like about the capsule idea is that it almost gives my brain a “pass” or “excuse” to wear an outfit twice *gasp* a month to work. I never judge others at work repeating outfits…so I’m in!

Celsey says · 10.30.14

Would you say the 9 West gray wedge shoes you’re wearing in outfit one are comfortable? Do they have any support in the sole? I am all about comfort over here … and am kind of a baby when it comes to comfort and I am not even pregnant! πŸ™‚

Kate says · 10.30.14

Yeah, I mean they are wedges so they are not as comfy as flats but they aren’t too high!

Marina says · 10.30.14

Kate — I know you are so busy this month but I have been LOVING your posts. Thanks for keeping up with them in the middle of everything! They brighten my day πŸ™‚ (And I love your style.)

Kate says · 10.30.14

Thank you for that comment! I feel a little out of it with extra stuff happening this month, but your comment made my day! Thanks again!!

Kaitlin says · 10.30.14

That blue top looks so fantastic with your coloring! And I love that scarf in the second photo. Can’t wait to see what else you come up with! I’ve missed seeing outfit posts with you in the clothes! πŸ™‚

Sarah Spain says · 10.30.14

You inspired me to do a capsule wardrobe! I’m not very stylish so I don’t mind wearing the same outfit weeks in a row πŸ˜‰ you’re just about the cutest (pregnant or otherwise) lady I’ve ever seen! Love your blog! Thanks!

Lee Ann S. says · 10.30.14

This is really random, but I got tickled because right beside the picture with your cute belly, there is an ad for birth control. It made me laugh! πŸ™‚

I just love this idea! I am getting a slow start on mine as 1.) we’re changing seasons & in the Midwest you just never know what the days will bring and 2.) I, too, am pregnant and am trying to be strategic in planning! But I’m very much looking forward to scaling down in this area.

Your outfits are great! They all have a different look to them. You did a great job!

Tyana says · 10.30.14

Love this, such cute outfits

check me out

I’m so impressed with your crazy month that you’re able to launch your capsule wardrobe too!! Amazing! Love the outfits so far. You won’t run out of ideas – confident. I’m in the middle of my own version, and taking all the outfit shots in one day is so helpful! Until your 12 month old runs away with the wireless shutter remote for your camera… I haven’t posted my week recap today because I’m missing one outfit! Gah!

Heidi says · 10.30.14

I love this, Kate! I’ve been dabbling with the possibility of starting my own capsule wardrobe, but just found out I’m pregnant as well! Very excited, but unsure how this will work with my expanding belly. My biggest growth will be over some vast seasonal differences rather than a convenient fall/winter where I could hold over a good number of pieces. Debating going for layers with maternity tees and with cardis for cooler weather (cardigans are a staple of my wardrobe already to be honest) rather than buying any warmer maternity stuff. I hadn’t come across Pink Blush before, but it seems much more reasonably priced than many other stores, thank you!

Micah says · 10.30.14

I’m waiting for a season to pass to see how you do before I commit to it but I absoltuely love the concept of it! Thanks for continuing to post even though you’re crazy busy this month!! You are my favorite blogger!

Carmen says · 10.30.14

Hannah wiggins says · 10.30.14

Thank you SO much for posting that!!! I’ve been waiting!

Sharyn Busick says · 11.01.14

I have been hoping they would start carrying Vinylux. They have some really unique yet not “strange” color options. Can’t wait to try these polishes. Thanks for posting this!

April says · 10.30.14

You are glowing!

I really love the boot, jeans, white shirt look. It’s one of my favorites to wear.

Grace says · 10.30.14

So I love the jeans especially! What brand are they?

Charley says · 10.31.14

I so effin love the first outfit it looks super comfy BTW I have those gray bootie u are wearing…..

Cami says · 10.31.14

I love the concept of a capsule wardrobe and you are setting the perfect example of one! I just read an article I loved on Gala Darling about her “daily uniform”, and that having to make less choices saves your decision making for creativity. I know this isn’t really a “uniform” but I feel like it has the same effect. Great post!

Arielle says · 10.31.14

I like the simple chic! It works for you!

Miriam says · 10.31.14

You look beautifull! πŸ˜€

meagan says · 10.31.14

Congratulations, Kate!

Amy says · 11.02.14

Oh my gosh! Too long since my last visit. Chopped my hair off and was in need of a new hair tutorial and saw your capsule wardrobe (love it by the way). Congratulations on your pregnancy!!

Megan says · 11.04.14

Love this! It’s almost time for me to start wearing maternity again (I’m 10 weeks with my 2nd), so I’m really looking forward to seeing more capsule wardrobe posts!

Olivia Ruth says · 11.11.14

Hi Kate! I love all of these outfits, and I have a special obsession with that blue puff vest (hearts hearts hearts!). I literally just wrote a blog about the puff vest on my site so I just had to tell you. Keep up the amazing posts, I love stopping over here every day πŸ™‚

Amy says · 11.14.14

NO ONE can rock neutrals like you do! I always try and feel bland, but you always look so great and put together! #jealous! πŸ™‚

Dani says · 11.14.14

First off, you are super cute! Second, did you somehow add length to the necklace you are wearing in the last picture. I have that exact same necklace and mine doesn’t hang down near that low. I love the necklace but it lays at an awkward place on me. Love the blog!

Kate says · 11.15.14

I did, I added a plain gold link bracelet to the back of it so it would hang lower πŸ™‚

Marcysia says · 10.11.15

Beautiful outfit, Kate. The camera loves you
