Apple Fritters, revisited

More than ever before, I’m really “feeling” my pregnancy these days.

Let’s chat about some pregnancy notes, shall we?

Bending over is getting harder and harder.

I never realized how much I used my abs until they were gone already.

Stairs take my breath away (not in a romantic kind of way).

I still can’t eat enough apples to satisfy my craving.

The baby is moving around a lot and giving me a few good kicks and punches a day. And I love them.

It’s strange to think these are the last two full months (in all likelihood) that Justin and I will just be a twosome.

I think we are pretty darn set on a name, but I can’t seem to pull the trigger and say, “HARK! This is his name!” (I’m not sharing here on the blog until the day he’s born, but my friends and family know so you can offer them a monetary sum should you decide you need to know at this time.)

I passed my glucose tolerance test with flying colors. I actually don’t know what I scored but I consider it a huge victory especially since I ate an embarrassing amount of Sour Patch Kids in the days leading up to the test.

I did find out my iron is low though (11.8 and they want it to be above 12 . . . . so close!) so I’m taking some extra iron. It sort of surprised me because I eat a bunch of spinach and steaks. Anyway, easy fix.

I feel immensely blessed that my mom and sister are throwing my a baby shower back home in Illinois. My first one here in Raleigh was absolutely wonderful!

I’m not wearing two different necklaces in these photos. The gem is reversible and is green on one side, brown on the other.
Let me tell you a little bit about this outfit. First of all, it’s comfortable. In fact, I’m wearing pre-pregnancy pants (not even CLOSE to being zipped up). Second, I’m wearing a white Blanqi underneath the sweater.

I first heard about Blanqi online, through various internet friends, and when I discovered I was pregnant I thought, “I hope I can get my hands on a Blanqi to try it out because it looks amazing.”

Blanqi kindly contacted me and offered to send me two to try (nude and white). And then I got kind of busy.

Last weekend at the conference, my friend Rebecca (who is due about a week after me with her 3rd) told me I had to try wearing a Blanqi. She said it’s her favorite pregnancy tank.

And as soon as I got home I finally ripped that box open and tried it on.

It’s very comfortable, is tight enough to hold up pre-pregnancy jeans, but has breathable fabric around the bump. It seems pretty perfect to wear after the baby is here and I’m nursing as well.

So, I’m a fan. If you are pregnant, or know someone who is, definitely look into Blanqi

Vitamin C helps you absorb iron 😉 I’m just a couple weeks behind you in my pregnancy…will have to look into those tanks!

I love the Blanqi! I wear mine EVERYDAY and have since around 4 months as it smoothed things out. I have a post partum one from Target and plan on getting at least two more since I know I’ll wear it everyday and that one will get spit up on 🙂

Also, I swear you should get compensated when you show clothes because I usually end up going and buying the same thing 🙂 Due November 19th.

I feel like that would take some authenticity away from it

Do you have the Bodystyler with the wide straps or the Bumped with the narrower straps that Blanqi sells via Target? I’ve been debating getting one myself but the Bodystyler looks soooo long and I have a short torso; I’d rather just use it as support than have it sticking out the bottom of all the shirts I wear over it. Looks like yours is nice and hidden so I’m curious!

You are looking so cute! Can’t believe it’s going so fast! Love that sweater too. I am definitely going to be referring back to these posts in the future when I’m trying to dress my baby bump!

If you are looking for a good iron supplement to take, my husband sells some called Hemax (he’s a pharma rep) and it’s one of the best iron supplements out there. Apparently it has vitamins in it that allow your body to absorb the iron really well. And it’s not expensive! You should ask your doctor about it. Just an FYI! 😉

I love that sweater! I just wish it was more in my price range. Do you think it is something you could wear post-pregnancy? This whole outfit is very cute. I love it.

I’m a long ways from being pregnant (let alone married!) but watching your progress as a mommy-to-be has made me really excited to be pregnant! Thanks for showing us how to be expecting without being frumpy. 🙂 I hope that your pregnancy is going as well as you are dressed!!

I just received my first Blanqi too and am loving it so far. This may be personal and it’s okay if you don’t want to answer but what size did you get? I am worried about mine growing with me. Thanks! 🙂

Perfect thank you!! 🙂 That’s what I have too and we look about the same size. Although this is my sixth baby so I hope to not get too HUGE!! Love the whole outfit. Good luck with everything.

There’s actually a chemical in spinach that blocks the absorption of its iron! I think it’s called oxalate or oxalic acid. I was shocked when I learned this as well. You’re better off cooking your fresh spinach, which helps make the iron more bio-available, and pairing it with foods that have iron more readily available (meats, fish, chicken) or foods that are high in Vit. C to help the body absorb the iron better.

You make one cute pregnant lady. I remember how hard it was to wrap Christmas present at the tail end of my pregnancy, the bump kept getting in the way and I couldn’t breathe. Pregnancy is oh so glamorous.

You look great! I kind of know what you mean about the name issue. We had picked out a name very early on, but it was still hard to wrap my mind around attaching the name to him. We continued to refer to him as our pregnancy nickname until he was born (last week!). Sometimes I still refer to him as that nickname. I have faith that with each passing day The Name will become more real.

You totally popped~looking good!
Be careful with pull on boots. luckily I had my oldest daughter or husband there to take off my boots at home because around the 6th month with my 3rd I literally couldn’t bend over enough to pull them off.
Then I was shopping {alone} at Nordstrom Rack and tried on a pair of short, wedge Hunter rainboots. So cute….and they were like a vacuum on my foot and I literally had to ask a stranger to pull them off of me!! I was laughing/crying….so awkward!!!

Since you said you’re nursing can I recommend undercover mama? I love.these tanks. They don’t have straps in fact you just hook them into your bra strap so you can pull it down to nurse along with your bra but you still hide your tummy! I love mine. Its amazing!!!! I have 4 of them and want even more!!!!

I have a friend in med school and she told me recently she learned in school that most women don’t get enough iron. Not just pregnant women either. Fun fact lol. You are not alone!

I was living in a level of pain before I came to know that green drinks existed. Now, once I stop taking the product for a few days I immediately feel my energy levels drop, headaches set in, and I feel pretty out of it. The second I get going on it again, I feel myself coming back into alignment with lots of energy.
