product review : Benefit’s Fine One One

next
too much of a good thing
When I saw Benefit release this product, Fine One One, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on it. It seemed like the perfect blush/highlight/depth product and it looked really easy to use. I’ve shared my method for contouring here, and while you’ll get more “detail” if you contour that way, using Fine One One is a quick, simple, and multi-purpose product that delivers what it promises.

I’m fairly skeptical of cream blushes. I tend to “over-blend”, for fear of leaving blush marks, and end up rubbing most of the product off. This was not the case with Fine One One. I like that there is a proper way to apply it, instead of guessing how to rub cream blush on.

The watermelon color in the center is the most pigmented. You get the “pink” from that shade. The coral adds the perfect amount of depth to the bottom, and the pink champagne color is a perfect highlighter.

To use it, you simply swipe following the natural curve of your cheek.

If you are apprehensive about contouring, I’d recommend trying Fine One One. It takes the guess work out. Or, head over to Sephora and test it out before you buy it!

You can also use this product as a lip color, just swipe horizontally across your lips and rub together (I’m not wearing it on my lips). And to brighten up tired eyes at the end of the day, I wouldn’t be opposed to dabbing my ring finger on the highlight color and tapping it near the inner corners of my eyes.

The options are endless. Just don’t use it as eyeshadow.

Not cute.

It looks gorgeous on you as a cream blush, but I’m just not sure if I’d find it purposeful! It helps to be able to use it as a lip color. I guess I’m just a fan of good ol’ blush and bronzer 🙂 Love the review though!

It looks really pretty but i’m not sure about the actual packaging of the product.. i feel like the product isnt nearly long enough….

Kate says · 01.03.13

do you mean it won’t last long enough, or the actual width of the stick won’t cover your entire cheek area?

I love the look of this! It would save some time from applying multiple products for sure! I have somewhat oily/combo skin though…interested to know how it “stays” on and whether it seems to add oil. You don’t look to have oily skin, but just your opinion? 🙂

it stayed all day. And itsn’t oily at all!

I absolutely love this! I stumbled upon the video of how to use it on the Birchbox website and had to try it. I’ve had it for a few weeks now and can’t get enough. I’m not so much into makeup but I thought this will add just the right amount of color. I LOVE it. It is so easy to use also! Can’t beat that!
