Target Sonia Kashuk Lipstick + A Giveaway!

next
High Five for Friday

You may have noticed that I mention Target here on the blog quite frequently. I can’t help it; it’s one of my favorite stores!

Recently, I received some free Sonia Kashuk lipstick from Target.
They are a part of the Satin Luxe Lip Color collection, and I found that they were named appropriately. They are smooth and creamy, and very luxurious on your lips.

The colors, Pink Punch and Classic Red, are rich and vibrant. The lipstick goes on smoothly and the color is highly pigmented. It is very glossy and shiny when first applied but then acts like a stain the longer you wear it. I absolutely love that feature because I don’t want to feel like I need to reapply all day to keep color on my lips! It doesn’t fade away to nothing like some lipsticks do. And it’s softening and hydrating, so when you do reapply, it will feel delightful on your lips.
Another great thing about these lipsticks is that the color at the end of the packaging matches the color in the tube. There is nothing worse than purchasing lipstick thinking it’s one color from the tube and then opening it only to discover that it’s completely different.
You won’t run into that issue with these lipsticks.
I love the Pink Punch as a bright “punch” of color. It’s absolutely perfect for summer, and very feminine without being another boring version of traditional pink. It’s a vibrant enough pink that makes it on-trend without being too neon.

It’s great if you want to experiment with bold, bright lip colors (which you should do because it’s so fun) but aren’t ready to dive in to the red lipstick yet.

It also looks fantastic with grey.
The Classic Red is just that: classic.

Polka dots are such a trend this season, and I really believe red lips go perfectly with them. And anyone can wear red lips. It’s perfect for date night or an afternoon of shopping. Red lipstick is such a timeless look.
This Classic Red color is a rich red that isn’t too pink or too orange. I like it on light skin and blonde hair, but I’m sure it would look great on brunettes as well.

I can’t wait to experiment more with these lipsticks. I think the Pink Punch would also go great with navy, and the Classic Red would look phenomenal with a little black dress–great for summer weddings.

Be sure to check out these Satin Luxe Lip Color lipsticks by Sonia Kashuk. They are really well priced for the quality, and you can’t beat that.

I don’t think I would put a price on how much is too much – okay, maybe no more than $40. I’ve paid $5 for lip products and I’ve paid $40. It just depends on the quality!

I think $40 is too much to pay for a lipstick.

$25. I know there are fantastic $25+ lipsticks out there I just don’t think it’s necessary.

I wouldn’t pay more then $10-$15 for a lipstick, if you hunt around enough you can find some good inexpensive ones!

About $25 would be my limit, you can find some great ones for cheaper!

I paid 35 for the lipstick I wore for my wedding but it was my special day…I think 15 is a good price for a lipstick you would wear everyday.

I have never spent more than $8 on lipstick because I don’t wear it that often. I might spend up to $15 if I really liked it…I also noticed your earrings. I loved them too! Target? 🙂

A good lipstick doesn’t have to be too expensive. I would say no more than $15, $20 if you wear it all the time. I tend to stay in the $8 to $12 range. Very pretty pix!

I would say anything over 15 would be too much. I feel like I go thru lipstick like water and I’m constantly losing them. One day I am going to find a stash of like 30 lipsticks. 🙂

Lipstick usually ends up being a (short) “phase” for me or something I buy for a particular special occasion, and almost always ends up in the trash or on a little girl playing dress-up. So knowing that, I won’t spend more than $15 for it at the most.

I don’t think I’ve ever paid over $8 for a lipstick, though I did just splurge and buy the Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment in Coral which is an insane $22. I do believe in splurging if a lipstick is especially unique and has both a moisturizing and long-wearing formula. In theory, if I found a truly amazing lipstick, I might be willing to spend upwards of $30. I love Revlon’s lip products though, and since their formula and price are great, I have a hard time seeing myself splurging.

Reply
ajl2870 says · 06.04.12

I think that you pay what you get for. My Mom has always taught me to spend a little more on everyday things, like jeans, good facial care. I think that with lipstick, especially lipstick you wear every day, deserves to be splurged on. For me, I would not spend more than 25 dollars.

I doubt I would pay more than $30 for lipstick. Currently, I’m obsessed with a Revlon color stay (that I purchase at Target – it’s my go-to store for everything) that is about $8.00! I love it mostly, because I don’t have to reapply continuously. It’s a 16 hour stain – Constantly Coral is my color. 🙂 With that said, it’s hard for me to pay more – although I have and would for the right lipstick.

I think a good Lipstick is worth the money. I have some that I paid $25 for and they were very worth it. I have a hard time spending much more than that on just one. But if it’s a pallette I could pay more.

I would say more than $20 is too much. I would consider paying $18 for a lipstick that I really love, but even that is a lot. Since I don’t buy lipstick often, I usually buy from the drugstore and pay less than $10.
I can’t wait to try out that Classic Red lipstick though. It looks gorgeous.

You can always see the thick line of BLUSH on your cheeks. Less is more! Especially with a bold lip color, you’d be better off with just some contouring using a light bronzer. I’m a mac makeup artist and I just had to say it, I would want someone to tell me!

It would all depend on how much I like the product. By the way, the red is beautiful on you.

Chanel lipstick is my favorite, but at $32 a pop it doesn’t get purchased frequently. I tend to stick to the $10 range for my day to day lip stick and glosses.

I tend to spend more on facial products (face wash, lotions, powder, foundation etc) so my lip products are usually from Target. I would say $10 but if I find a color I love (like some from Clinique) I would probably spend up to $20. Thanks so much for hosting the giveaway!

Both colors look fantastic but I really LOVE that red. You’re exactly right, it’s a classic RED (not orange, pink, etc).
Anyway – I think the most I’ve ever paid for lipstick is $19 (MUFE brand I bought recently). I usually don’t like to spend that much because I don’t really wear lipstick regularly, but I really wanted to try this one out.

The answer is $14.50! I love-love-loved Chanel Mademoiselle shade, but just couldn’t do $32.50 for a lipstick. So…. I asked to try the lip color at my local Macy’s and marched right over to the Mac counter and asked my favorite makeup artist to match it. Mac’s Fanfare was actually more flattering on me and at $14.50 I was able to splurge on an eye color I had been eye-ing for a while.

Anything over $20! I say this because, I have lipsticks in different prices, ranging from $1 all the way up to $40! Most of the time, the ones that are less expensive are as good as the ones that are super expensive! 🙂

hmm this is a tough question for me because I do not wear lipstick or any cosmetics other than lip balm! LOL That said, I have no idea how much a tube of lipstick even sells for. Since I am cheap, I wouldn’t want to pay any more than I currently pay for my lip balm, so I am going to say no more than like $6 a tube. LOL

Lipstick is my must-have product to use – always! Finding a good, non-drying shade is essential – I’d pay what I had to – but under $30 is preferred – anything else would make me question my sanity!

It depends on my mood! Daytime I’m always a pink girl – but at night sometimes I like to vamp it up and choose red – I love them both, but I guess I’d pick pink as my main color! 🙂

I don’t use lipstick so I’d say $5.
