I’m currently exploring some slightly wider leg options for bottoms/denim this spring and summer, but it’s a work in progress. As much as I want to evolve with the trends, I also want to make sure I feel comfortable and confident in what I’m wearing.

And for now, I’m still really comfortable and confident in skinny jeans, straight-leg denim, and ankle-length pants. For summer or spring, those are all things I really love to wear so I’m featuring those in the roundup today!

Like I’ve said before, I’m sharing pieces in my wardrobe that I’ve had for a long time or think can be versatile and worn often during this next season. So let’s start with the most classic of the bunch: the dark wash straight leg denim.

I got a pair of Levi’s from Amazon in the “wedgie” fit. They feel great and have everything you want in classic ankle-length straight-fit denim. There is a bit of stretch, but the jeans are thick enough to feel like they have some structure to them. They are kind of my “no-nonsense” pair of jeans that can go with literally everything. My other favorite pair of darker washed straight leg is this pair from J.Crew! I like the button fly and they hit at the perfect spot on my ankle!

Next up, my most worn pair is a lighter wash of distressed denim. I like a cut-off hem on casual jeans, so the Perfect Vintage from Madewell is my most worn pair! Target has a similar option that I featured on a Reel on Instagram as well. They have a bit more stretch than the Perfect Vintage at Madewell.

I love white denim or a white pant for spring! It feels fresh and once you find a pair that you like, and you can quickly see how many ways pairing white or cream denim with tops and shoes you already have adds new life to your wardrobe. My most worn white pants are a palazzo pant from Good American (which is no longer made), or the cream-perfect vintage pair I have from Madewell. The most similar pair to the palazzo pants I have are these from Loft!

Lastly, a good pair of pull-on pants is essential for spring. I like an ankle-length, and something in a darker color because they tend to fit a bit looser. These black ones are a great find from Target. They feel casual enough for sneakers, but can also be a nice option for a brunch or casual day-date outfit.

You may notice that I almost exclusively featured ankle-length bottoms in this roundup! It’s been my favorite for a while, and I really love it in Spring because it shoes off the shoes a bit more.

If you missed it, part 1 of the Spring Style Series went live last week and it was all about outerwear!

Thank you for sticking with skinny jeans! I’m feeling pressured to give them up, but I agree with you that I don’t feel comfortable in the new trends and that I look better in skinny jeans.

How are these any different than what you showed us all winter? Do you change it up at all – maybe color, fabric, etc. – come spring? I have the most lovely lightweight flowy pastel palazzos that just scream yay it’s finally spring! for me.

Personally, I tend to gravitate to items that I can wear very often. And while I switch up tops fairly regularly, I tend to search for and buy bottoms, shoes, and outerwear that I can wear many times in multiple seasons. Flowy pastel palazzos sound very spring-y, I’m sure they look and feel great 🙂

I’m struggling to find summer friendly denim. I feel awkward in shorts but don’t want to wear full-length jeans. Do you have any you gravitate towards?
