“I’m not trying” lipstick that is a VERY surprising color

I’m late to give this product a go, but to be honest I haven’t heard all that much about it! I’ve seen it in store, but never tried it on. Of course now that I have I’m realizing I would have bought this and recommended it months ago but hindsight is 20/20 folks.

And it’s just lipstick, after all, but it’s kind of the perfect, summer-y, “What? Lipstick? What lipstick?”

So here are my lips with nothing on them. I just wiped off the lipstick from wearing it earlier on in the day, so a *touch* of pink remained.

And here is the after! The lipstick is called Lipstick Queen Frog Prince.

The finish is sheer, with a rosy pink tone that makes your lips look amazingly healthy and youthful. It adds color without being a heavy lipstick, and feels very hydrating on the lips without being sticky!

Basically, it’s great and you should add it to your summer makeup routine. Thanks for letting me be blunt right there.

You may be thinking,”Kate, isn’t this just like the Dior Lip Glow?” And I would say,”Yes, yes it is. It tastes different/better and doesn’t feel as firm when you apply it. But it essentially does the same with with a deeper rosier color instead of the hot pink nature of the Dior Lip Glow.”

If I was forced to choose between the two. . . (you should know that in real life I paused for a long time to think about this. . .) I think I would pick this one. I like the stronger color. But if you want something more sheer, try the Dior Lip Glow instead!

And make sure you apply this in public so strangers can look at you curiously when you whip out a forest green shade of lipstick, okay?

More lipstick loves hereΒ and don’t forget to try my Birchbox LOC lipstick, Playful!

I have tried this and love it! Unfortunately, my absent-mindedness left it in a clutch on the dash of a car when it was hot outside. Needless today, $$ down the drain because it ALL melted!
I think this is suppose to be a “your perfect shade” lipstick. So it may look a slightly different color on someone else. πŸ™‚
Feels great though and if they ever go on sale I’m picking up another one!

I really, really like this shade. I think it’s my favourite of yours that I’ve seen you wear lately!

Have you tried the Hello Sailor version, the blue one? Curious how it looks.

I’ve tried Hello Sailor and it is amazing! I’ve never tried the green one but Hello Sailor seems a bit more purple-toned, where the green one is more rosey πŸ™‚

I’ve got it and I’m not thrilled with it. It definitely goes on a blue silver and on me the bluish tint stays.

It looks great, and I love how it’s like another version of the Dior lipstick. I also agree with putting it on in public because that green really throws you off when you see it! haha

If you like this one, try the Medieval color in the same brand. It is a VERY sheer reddish tint that feels like lip balm. It looks a bit like Clinique’s Black Honey, but I think it’s more flattering.
Best part is, it’s so sheer you can apply it without a mirror.

I have both the Lipstick Queen Frog Prince and Hello Sailor. I love the formula on these and they make my lips feel so hydrated! I personally prefer Hello Sailor to Frog Prince. It leaves a nice berry/plum hue to the lips. I only wish that these went on sale more frequently and that we could use our coupons on them at Ulta!

I LOVE the Black Lace Rabbit lipstick! It’s a sheer black with gold shimmer. I know that sounds totally weird and a big nooooope but it’s one of my all time favorites.

I love Black Lace! It’s saved several lipsticks that looked too bright or too red on me, tones it down to a subtler look with a hint of light sparkle. Love Frog Prince and Medieval too–great “put them on without a mirror” colors!

My husband pointed it out to me at Ulta one time and I made a face at him and firmly said no because I totally thought it was a green lipstick!! Darn!! I wish I would’ve known it would turn pink not green, he probably would’ve bought it for me just for that reason! Lol

So, I missed it twice! Lol

Okay, this is awesome! I keep trying different lipsticks that turn into the “right” shade for you, and it always turns out either with a hot pink that I can’t stand, or it’s drying. I’m gonna have to try this!

I love this lipstick, too! I typically hate lipstick, so to find one I like is a big deal. My favorite lipstick is Lipstick Queen’s Medieval (“the red anyone can wear”), but Frog Prince is a close second. I don’t think it moisturizes as well as Medieval, but it’s a pretty pink and goes on smooth. And I don’t get that icky white line on my lips after wearing it for a while. Next I want to try Lipstick Queen’s Denim. I just wish their products weren’t so expensive.

We need to know about your hair! Tell us how you get that much volume? I have fine hair but lots of it. I use the Purelogy washes, put mouse and anti-gravity spray in, blow dry upside down and side to side….I never get lift like that at the top!

I’ve tried the Aquage multiple times and it just makes me hair sticky and hard to work with rather than more volume.

Omg I honestly thought for a second that I was going to see Kate wearing green lipstick!! My first thought was I don’t think Kate would wear something like this, doesn’t seem to be her style.

Hahaha! This would have been a great April Fools post!

The actual color is pretty…happy it’s not green!

It was a different shade on me as well. It’s more of like a mood lipstick meaning it goes toward the perfect shade for your lips with the warmth of them. It was even a darker rose on me then it is on her. I love the “Blue Jean Pink” by this brand and for some reason it always goes so awesome with jeans. They also have a black lace (that’s the name of it) lipstick that I purchase that you can put on top of any color lipstick and it changes the shade darker. It’s absolutely fantastic to make a lighter pink shade for dark more sultry for night just by adding the black lace over the top!

I was so caught off guard when I saw the green color of the lipstick! I thought you were going to do this super trendy/funky look with it. I was so surprised when I saw that the color was extremely soft and neutral! I might get it to mess with people in public xxx

I have this a it’s little bit different color on me. I think there’s something to it going with you skin tone and the heat of you lips. Sort of like a mood lipstick. Enjoy your blog, often thought starting one myself because I love talking about makeup, hair and beauty products…but I feel like folks might think I’m boring because it’s “just me”! πŸ™‚

Have you tried the black lipstick by this brand? I have it and it’s awesome. It can take a light pink that you have on for the day and make it more sultry for night time. It doesn’t go on you black, it just slight changes/modifies a color of lipstick you already have on, so it’s not actually a black lipstick. I love it because it turns a tube of lipstick I already have into 2 colors.

You should also try the one by Jane Iredale — it is so nice! It leaves a nice stain of color on my lips for hours – doesn’t look like lip stick – just like I have a nice, natural rosey colored lip. I’m thinking about trying this one next — thanks for the recommendation!

  32. Posted April 7, 2017

Omg the color is amazing!! You have completely sold me; it looks so natural but also noticeable somehow? Thank you for sharing this!

I have Hello Sailor from Lipstick Queen and wore it a ton last summer. I’m not sure why I didn’t pick up the Frog Prince one at the same time. Very pretty on you!

The Dior Lip Glow now comes in a Berry color that is fabulous! It’s still not dark but definitely much deeper than the other Lip Glow colors. I’ve worn it non-stop since I got it a few weeks ago.
