My team!

3 steps to prep your hair for re-styling

Well this is long overdue.

I’ve mentioned both of these people in various places but it’s time we do a formal introduction here on the blog.

Meet Jordan, my photographer.

Jordan, my dear friend, has been shooting some photos and video for me for a long time now. Over two years actually! She came into my life shortly after David was born and she’s become like a sister to me.

She’s known by the public as a wedding photographer, but here is who she is to me: She’s a sister from different parents, she has the driest sense of humor that is so in line with mine, she’s obsessed with Star Wars, she’s a feeler and has this way about her that compels me to often share my innermost thoughts while she sits on my floor, she loves my boys like an aunt, she is a fantastic photographer who can see light and composition like no one else, and she’s a hard worker. She’s kind and extremely gracious, and I don’t know what I’d do without her. She has helped me shoot videos for the blog for the past few months, and has assisted with shooting various other projects, including all my family photos for years!

Now, meet Nicole!ย

Nicole has become an absolute asset to the blog. She’s technically my assistant, by job description, but I don’t feel like that adequately describes all that she does. She’s also a sounding board for ideas for posts, and helps me gauge what to say yes to and what to say no to. She manages all the details of the hair classes, assists in projects with various brands, helps answer questions through social mediaย &ย blog comments, and keeps me organized.

And that last one is a FEAT I tell you. A FEAT.

Nicole has two sweet kids, Kate and Charlie, who are similar in age to David and Luke! She’s also expecting another baby this summer! We’ve gotten the 4 of them together to play a few times and they always have a blast. Despite being a Carolina fan(go Duke!), she’s become very dear to me and I’m so grateful that she’s a part of the team!

All of these photos were taken byย Ally, of Ally and Bobby, who is a wedding photographer here in Raleigh. Jordan introduced me to her last fall and she is both talented and REALLY fun to be around. She has a bright personality and I highly recommend her if you have a photography need! Find her info HERE!

Ally shot these at a really cute dessert shop downtown Raleigh called Lucette Grace. The desserts were fancy and almost too pretty to eat! You must check it out if you live in the area, or are visiting. Get the tiramisu. It’s delicious!

So, there is the team! They both do a lot around here so I thought it was time to share a bit more about them ๐Ÿ™‚

HEELS!!!!! Any Carolina fan is good peoples! My husband is a Duke fan, I’m a Carolina fan. So basketball season can get a little contentious. But living in Lexington, KY, we’re both hated by the locals.

I lived in Chicago when I first found your blog and continued to follow more regularly once moving to Raleigh. Because of the small things blog we found Jordan to photograph our wedding and couldn’t be happier. She is the best. And if you ask her, I mentioned you/your blog a million times between engagement pictures and wedding day because I am such a fan. Thanks Kate and hi Jordan ( you da best!)!
