During my pregnancy, after I knew we were having a boy, I hoped that he would look like Justin. I think it’s so adorable when little boys are a mirror image of their father. On David’s first day of life, I kept seeing my brother in his face. And only a couple days after that, I thought he looked exactly like Justin.

Now that he’s ::ahem:: gained a few and rounded out quite a bit, I think he’s starting to look like me. He has Justin’s eye shape, but my eye color. He has my mouth but Justin’s ears.

I can’t quite picture him as a little boy yet, but I think he’ll end up looking more like Justin in the long run.

Well, we took our first road trip (and our second actually) with David and he did great. Thank you for all the suggestions from the previous post about it!

Justin and I took David to his hometown church on Easter Sunday. His cheeks were pinched and everyone commented on his light blue eyes. Justin and I were practically glowing the pride as he silently sat through the service, took a brief nap, and basically was the most well-behaved child on the planet.

I have yet to endure a truly embarrassing moment with David in public. I know it will happen, and frankly I hope it makes for a good blog post, but in the meantime I am enjoying how great his does when we take him out of his comfort zone of home.

I have gotten into a wonderful groove with him lately. I absolutely love spending my days with him, and am very grateful for the opportunity to do so!

I apologize for the brevity of his post! I promise I have more to talk about but the busyness of the past week has prevented me from spending enough time on the blog.

Don’t apologize for brevity. 🙂 It’s a whole new ballgame to figure out how much time to spend on family, work, fun, you. Trust me! Happy Easter!

Adorable!! It’s crazy when I look back at pictures of my 4 1/2 yr old, and he looks EXACTLY the same just bigger!! I always tried to imagine him at this age, but my mind just wouldn’t wrap around the idea!! Seriously… the chubbiness.. I can’t handle it 😛

The thing about that first horrific moment in public is that, while it is *mortifying* in the moment, you will find yourself laughing about it soon after. I’m sure you’ll take it in stride.

I’ll never forget ours. It was our first time back at Sunday School and we brought Young Sir with us, keeping him in the wrap the whole time. Pulled him out before service started to change his diaper and found poop. SO. MUCH. POOP. All over the inside of the wrap. All over my shirt. But none on the baby (shameless monkey). Had to strip off my shirt and walk out of the bathroom wearing only a sheer, white tank with a black bra underneath, with only my baby to cover my chest. I have *never* pushed through a crowd and loaded him in his carseat so fast. That was the last time I left the house without a back-up shirt in the diaper bag. :o)

Oh they are cute together! I can’t wait to see how David acts… our little son acts just like me.

We always laugh that our boy has mama’s personality. Hopefully we’ll have a daughter soon who will remind us of papa.

I have a little boy a few weeks younger than David and I thought the same thing – that he looked like my brother. Now, I feel like he looks more like me and a little like my husband. Fun to watch them change!!

Little boys and their Dads make the heart melt. Here’s a pic of my two fellas last week (scroll down). Funny how their looks change so much at this young age. So glad I had a little boy. They are so fun!

Just keep being your awesome planning mommy self and you’ll be surprised how many embarrassing moments you can dodge 😉 My daughter is almost 4 and we have had only a handful of awful moments in her life- and it has always been because I wasn’t prepared for what she needed at that time. Her little brother is a different story 😉

He’s a beautiful baby – no denying that. And he has very good looking parents as well. I think he looks like you mostly, Kate 🙂 And hey: we know you have a 4 1/2 month old in the house and I’m just astounded you can still blog at all! Hang in there, hope everything goes well.

Hi Kate, longtime fan of the blog. Today’s post is adorable 🙂 I have to complain about the new ads creeping up from the bottom of my ipad screen for Macy’s. They block content… Super annoying. Maybe push Macys over to the sidebar? Thanks, Alicia

I’ve been told that babies initially tend to look like mommy and as they get older they look more and more like dad. I definitely see my brothers in our son but I keep thinking perhaps that’s simply because I grew up with them and I don’t have pictures of my husband as a baby so permanently ingrained into my memory? I’m quite pleased to hear more people recognize my family’s traits in him though as when he was initially born there was much loud squawking of how much Isaiah looked like my husband’s family. It made me feel a little left out. I birthed this baby, he’s gotta look a LITTLE like me right??? 🙂 I’ll enjoy it while it lasts. 😉

He’s such a cutie. I don’t think I had embarrassing moments until after they started walking. Boys like to get into EVERYTHING & if they can’t, well let’s say we didn’t go out shopping as much when my boys were toddlers as when they were babies. Babies are easy peasy!

I and also my buddies were aucallty analyzing the excellent procedures on your website and then unexpectedly got a terrible feeling I never thanked the blog owner for those tips. All of the young men became as a consequence joyful to learn them and have extremely been using them. Thank you for getting very kind and also for picking out such extraordinary subjects most people are really eager to learn about. My personal honest regret for not expressing gratitude to earlier.
