Target Sonia Kashuk Lipstick + A Giveaway!

You may have noticed that I mention Target here on the blog quite frequently. I can’t help it; it’s one of my favorite stores!

Recently, I received some free Sonia Kashuk lipstick from Target.
They are a part of the Satin Luxe Lip Color collection, and I found that they were named appropriately. They are smooth and creamy, and very luxurious on your lips.

The colors, Pink Punch and Classic Red, are rich and vibrant. The lipstick goes on smoothly and the color is highly pigmented. It is very glossy and shiny when first applied but then acts like a stain the longer you wear it. I absolutely love that feature because I don’t want to feel like I need to reapply all day to keep color on my lips! It doesn’t fade away to nothing like some lipsticks do. And it’s softening and hydrating, so when you do reapply, it will feel delightful on your lips.
Another great thing about these lipsticks is that the color at the end of the packaging matches the color in the tube. There is nothing worse than purchasing lipstick thinking it’s one color from the tube and then opening it only to discover that it’s completely different.
You won’t run into that issue with these lipsticks.
I love the Pink Punch as a bright “punch” of color. It’s absolutely perfect for summer, and very feminine without being another boring version of traditional pink. It’s a vibrant enough pink that makes it on-trend without being too neon.

It’s great if you want to experiment with bold, bright lip colors (which you should do because it’s so fun) but aren’t ready to dive in to the red lipstick yet.

It also looks fantastic with grey.
The Classic Red is just that: classic.

Polka dots are such a trend this season, and I really believe red lips go perfectly with them. And anyone can wear red lips. It’s perfect for date night or an afternoon of shopping. Red lipstick is such a timeless look.
This Classic Red color is a rich red that isn’t too pink or too orange. I like it on light skin and blonde hair, but I’m sure it would look great on brunettes as well.

I can’t wait to experiment more with these lipsticks. I think the Pink Punch would also go great with navy, and the Classic Red would look phenomenal with a little black dress–great for summer weddings.

Be sure to check out these Satin Luxe Lip Color lipsticks by Sonia Kashuk. They are really well priced for the quality, and you can’t beat that.

  1. Heather says

I paid 35 for the lipstick I wore for my wedding but it was my special day…I think 15 is a good price for a lipstick you would wear everyday.

  2. says

I have never spent more than $8 on lipstick because I don’t wear it that often. I might spend up to $15 if I really liked it…I also noticed your earrings. I loved them too! Target? :)

  3. says

A good lipstick doesn’t have to be too expensive. I would say no more than $15, $20 if you wear it all the time. I tend to stay in the $8 to $12 range. Very pretty pix!

  4. Tina N says

It’s hard to put a price on something that makes you feel beautiful! I personally don’t spend more than $15 on lipstick, but if I felt my best when using any product, I’d be willing to spend a little more :)

  5. says

hmm…I don’t buy lipstick very often so that’s a hard question! I <3 Aveda, so I would spend $16, but not much more than that!

  6. says

I think $15 to $20 is enough to pay for a GOOD lipstick. If it’s something that you wear all the time and it works really well for you.

  7. Tiffany W. says

I would say anything over 15 would be too much. I feel like I go thru lipstick like water and I’m constantly losing them. One day I am going to find a stash of like 30 lipsticks. :)

  8. says

Around the $25 dollar mark is my limit. I happen to already own a few of Sonia Kashuk’s products but haven’t tried out the lipstick yet, would love to try something new.

  9. says

It really depends on the quality and the brand!! I’m talking $10-$20 for a name brand, counter tube, otherwise, Ulta with a coupon is the way to score!

  10. Libby says

Honestly no more than $15. I’m not a big fan of lipstick, so when I do buy it I need to have a good price to convience me.

  11. says

I wouldn’t pay anymore than $10 per tube of lipstick. I love those colors on you….they make me want to try them on myself. I typically only wear burt bees lip balm. I need to branch out. :)

  12. says

I think I’m honestly the cheapest person here: I wouldn’t pay over $5 for lipstick. I just find I don’t wear it that often… I like to remain kissable and I don’t think any color lipstick I would pick would look really good kissed off on my husband. And, he wouldn’t enjoy that!

  13. says

I’m more of a tinted lip gloss/chapstick girl, but I do wear lipstick for special occasions. I would probably not pay more than $15 for lipstick.

  14. Dana B. says

I don’t think I’ve spent more than $10 on lipstick because I’m more of a lip gloss kind of girl. I’ll definitely have to give this a try. I love SK!

  15. Summer says

Lipstick usually ends up being a (short) “phase” for me or something I buy for a particular special occasion, and almost always ends up in the trash or on a little girl playing dress-up. So knowing that, I won’t spend more than $15 for it at the most.

  16. says

i have never paid over 30 dollars for a lipstick however i think that i would consider it if the lipstick was worth it. You get what you pay for ( most of the time! )

  17. Sarah says

I would like to say that I wouldn’t pay over $10 but that would be a lie. Since I just bought the Clinique ‘Chubby Stick’ ($16). I had been wanting it since forever and I got a whole bag filled with Cliniqu products for purchasing.

  18. says

I would probably never spend more than around $15 for lipstick…however once you find something you really like and feel confident in, better to pay for that and stick with it than to spend extra on others trying to find one. The new lipsticks look beautiful and I may just give them a try :) Target is a great place to shop!

  19. Maggie says

I wouldn’t pay more than $10, but that’s just because I’d rather spend money on products like foundation, powder, eyeliner, nail polish… :)

  20. says

I wouldn’t spend more than $20 on a lip product. They don’t ever last as long as I would like, especially glosses. I’m not very brave when it comes to color. I am a dark brunette with brown eyes… Any tips on color choices for my lips?

  21. says

I definitely would not pay more than $20 for lipstick. I love lip color (!!!!!!), but when I have $20 dollars and I could buy a cute top for the same price, I’ll pick the top over a high-priced lipstick every time :)

  22. says

I’m not much of a lipstick winner – I just love the feel of carmex, but I do like them for special occasions. I probably wouldn’t pay more than $10 or $15.

  23. says

I don’t think I would spend more than $20 on a lip product. At least, I haven’t found something I think is worth spending more than $20 on yet.

  24. says

I really don’t wear lipstick.. I have yet to find one that doesn’t make my lips look all dried up. So I would say I would spend 5-10 dollars.

  25. says

I have no idea…I would say $5, but that sounds pretty low. I am more of a lip gloss gal – but will pay up to $15 for that, so maybe the same for lipstick – depends on the brand. I would LOVE to try some fun colors and get into lipstick!!! :)
    erincyoung (at) yahoo.com

  26. says

No offense, but I wouldn’t pay anything for lipstick (I don’t wear any).

I love your blog and am a loyal reader though, and Target is my favorite place to shop – hands-down!!

  27. says

I haven’t bought lipstick in so long! I usually do lip gloss or chapstick or something. But I’d probably be cheap and say $10.

  28. Holly L says

I would probably only go up to $15.00. It would have to be a really good, long wearing lipstick. I hate when you have to reapply all the time.

  29. Jackie B says

I would have to say $10 max. And I’m super jealous of how adorable you look in bright lip color. I just can not pull that off. Love your blog!

  30. says

Great giveaway! I’m of the school of thought that you get what you pay for. Usually though, the most I pay is $10. I tend to cringe when I see lipstick that is more than that.

  31. says

I wouldn’t spend over $10. I just can justify any more expense for pretty lips! My husband thinks I’m beautiful one way or the other :)

  32. says

I pay $18.00 for Buxom lip gloss (Bare Minerals/Sephora), so I think $18-$20 would be my limit. I love lipstick and gloss, and I’m excited to try the Sonia Kashuk!

  33. says

If the lipstick was worth the money, I would be willing to splurge, but usually I would try to keep it under $20. Target is my absolute favorite store!!

  34. Kara says

I love nothing more than getting a good deal, so finding a great lipstick for $10 or less would make me happy. Even better than that is finding a lip product in the clearance sections at Target…now that is a girl’s dream!

  35. says

I wouldn’t pay more than $10.00, though I rarely purchase lipstick. I often recieve free lipsticks in my “free gift” when I make purchases from Lancome.

I love that you advocate for women to show off bright lipsticks! I think they add so much to any look, dressy or casual. Beautiful!

  36. says

I don’t usually like how I look in lipstick. I have wasted too much money trying to find something I like. About all I wear is MK Liquid Lip Color in Sherbert. If I were to find a lipstick I loved…$20 at most.

  37. says

I don’t usually like how I look in lipstick. I have wasted too much money trying to find something I like. About all I wear is MK Liquid Lip Color in Sherbert. If I were to find a lipstick I loved…$20 at most.

  38. kristiina says

If it’s awesome and I love the color? I’d pay around $15…much more than that I’d hesitate. :)

  39. says

i think $25 is where i’d draw the line. i used to be really big into lipstick–now i’m more of a colored gloss kind of girl. i must try those from target–they are really pretty!

  40. says

I think the most I would pay for lipstick is $10 or $15. I’m not much of a lipstick girl but if I found one I liked in that price range, I would purchase it.

  41. Meredith says

I’m with Kristin–anything over $30 is too much. There are so many good lip products out there for less, so it would be hard to justify that price.

  42. Ciara says

I don’t think I would spend more than $10, but I prefer lipgloss to lipstick. Sometimes I find that I can look a little clown-like when I wear lipstick so I tend to gravitate toward more subtle glosses or just plain chapstick!

  43. says

A good lipstick is worth investing in! I would pay up to $50 for a good one. The trick is finding the perfect shade for yourself, then you’ll keep going back for more no matter what the price tag is!

  44. says

I don’t think I’ve ever paid over $8 for a lipstick, though I did just splurge and buy the Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment in Coral which is an insane $22. I do believe in splurging if a lipstick is especially unique and has both a moisturizing and long-wearing formula. In theory, if I found a truly amazing lipstick, I might be willing to spend upwards of $30. I love Revlon’s lip products though, and since their formula and price are great, I have a hard time seeing myself splurging.

  45. says

I think that you pay what you get for. My Mom has always taught me to spend a little more on everyday things, like jeans, good facial care. I think that with lipstick, especially lipstick you wear every day, deserves to be splurged on. For me, I would not spend more than 25 dollars.

  46. says

While I think that my typical lipstick is about $15, I think that I’d spend up to $30 if I found the absolute perfect shade. Anything more than that wouldn’t be worth it to me.

  47. says

I wouldn’t spend more than about $12 on lipstick because I rarely wear lipstick. I might spend a little more on a great lip treatment. Also, I think I would spend more on other products like mascara because I use it more.

  48. says

$20 is too much to pay for lipstick…But finding a good lipstick that you love is super important…and its a daily staple (so its worth paying for it if you love it)

  49. says

I like my lipstick to be under $10 because I usually lose them, break them or get tired of them. If I loved it I would spend up to $20 but I would have to be obsessed with it to spend that much.

  50. says

I would probably spend up to $25 for the perfect lipstick, but typically I’m a $10 and under girl, but a perfect lipstick would be worth a bit more to me.
    brookej2216 (at) gmail (dot) com

  51. says

I won’t pay more than $10 for a lipstick I can’t try before purchasing. If I can try it first, I’d pay 20ish if I loved it.

  52. Brooke says

$18.00 would probably be the most I would pay for lipstick. You can get some pretty amazing colors and products for around $15.00 or sometimes less.

  53. says

I don’t think I would pay more than $20. Unless it made me feel like a brand new woman every time I wore it! I currently purchase one for $15.

  54. says

I’m so cheap! I would spend more than $5-8. That’s why I LOVE Target! You have a great variety & good prices on lipstick! :)

  55. TN Amy K says

I use lip liner and carmex to smear it around for all over color. $7.95 for the liner – oddly enough, it is Sonia Kashuk from Target!!!

  56. Anonymous says

I rarely wear lipstick, I am more of a gloss girl. But as I get older,I realize my face needs more color. So I am willing to go up to about $15 for a tube that will last a long time. mgeiger1@hotmail.com

  58. says

I would probably not spend more than $10 for a lipstick. I rarely wear it because I have not found any that I really like. I suppose if I found the perfect lisptick for me, I might pay more.

  59. says

I doubt I would pay more than $30 for lipstick. Currently, I’m obsessed with a Revlon color stay (that I purchase at Target – it’s my go-to store for everything) that is about $8.00! I love it mostly, because I don’t have to reapply continuously. It’s a 16 hour stain – Constantly Coral is my color. :) With that said, it’s hard for me to pay more – although I have and would for the right lipstick.

  60. says

I like to spend less than $10 on new lipstick unless I absolutely LOVE it! I’m more of a mascara and eye shadow girl, so that’s where I tend to splurge. Thanks for the chance to win!
    Kristin

  61. says

Honestly, I don’t hardly ever wear lipstick, but if I were to invest in one, I could see myself spending quite a bit to ensure that I had great quality. I probably wouldn’t pay more than $40, however, unless it was really really great.

  62. says

pretty colors! i’m funny about lipstick but i’m also frugal. i believe there are some amazing options at target and the drugstore. but at the same time if i found something i fell in love with i would pay like $25… maybe…

  63. says

I couldn’t pay more than $20 for a good lipstick. I do love those colors, I am not usually that bold with fair skin but this might be worth a try!

  64. says

I’ve never been a big fan of lipstick, I’m more of a “glossy” kind of girl, but these actually look amazing! I believe anything more than $10-12 is a bit excessive for a tube of lipstick. Thanks for the chance to win!

  65. says

I would probably not buy lipstick if it were more than $10 unless it were absolutely amazing (and even then I would probably hesitate!).

  66. Amanda says

$10 has been my limit in the past, but if I found a lipstick that I knew would match my skin tone and stay on all day, I might just make an exception!

  67. says

for me, because lipstick comes off all the time, I’d say $10-$15 MAX. it’s something i just don’t wear often enough to justify paying a lot for it. :) those lip colors look FANTASTIC on you!

  68. says

For me, about $20 is the limit, and that’s a special treat. I try to keep the average paid under $10, but if I know I love the color (like I’ve gotten to try it on at a counter) I’ll pay more for it, since its not a gamble.

  69. says

I have a hard enough time justifying $15;( But I have all girls who love my makeup, so right now $10 is the limit for this mommy:)

  70. says

The most I could see myself spending is $25, but it would have to be some pretty amazing lipstick for that price! I usually prefer to stay in the $10-$15 range, because I rarely use an entire lip color before I get bored with it and want to switch.

  71. says

I would have to say $15 is my max! I try to shoot for under $10, but if it is a super-cute color then I will spend a little more.

  72. says

I hate to say it, but I think one penny is too much to pay for lipstick. I’ve never been taught how to apply lipstick or any other type of make-up product because I was raised by my grandmother, who was never taught by her mother how to apply makeup. So, unfortunately I missed out on all the fun ways to pretty yourself up, and now with my 30th birthday just around the corner, I’m afraid I missed the training boat completely…I’m left to my own devices and it isn’t pretty! Ha Ha!

  73. says

hmmm…i wouldn’t pay more than $12 for lipstick. i don’t wear it too often, so even that would be a splurge! they both look great on you, kate! :)

    thanks for the giveaway!

  74. Anonymous says

I think I’d spend around $10 max…although I have paid up to $25 before because I really like smashbox, I’m on a tighter budget right now :) the pink looks really fun!!

  75. says

Only because my budget is so tight, I cringe to pay over $10 for lipstick. Thanks for the giveaway!
    heatherspooner1981 at gmail dot com

  76. says

I like to wear lipstick but do not feel that I wear it enough to spend much money on it. I would not pay more than $10 for lipstick.

  77. says

I’m with the $10 crowd…I prefer the term frugal over cheap. ;) I’ve never found a lipstick I loved so I’m hesitant to pay more.

  78. says

I wouldn’t pay more than $10 for lipstick. I don’t wear it a whole lot, so it is really hard for me to justify spending more.

  79. says

I have spent $25 on lipstick before but it is my favorite color and I wear it all the time. Plus it lasts a while so I don’t mind splurging. I would say I wouldn’t spend over $40 on a great lip color!

  80. says

I think my max is somewhere below $20. I usually go through this cycle of buying nice more expensive makeup, and then when it comes time to buying new stuff I convince myself I can buy the cheap stuff…which usually prompts me into spending a little more next time around.

  81. says

I have no idea how much is too much! I have a lipstick from Coach that I got with a store credit from a gift, and it was $64. I love it, but I don’t think I’d buy it again. I’d say like ten bucks unless I was sure the color was fantastic. Then I’d splurge. :)

  82. Marcela Jackson says

I probably wouldn’t pay more than $10 for lipstick…I’m cheap!

    marcesaid [at] gmail [dot] com

  83. Tatyana G says

I think that depends. If you buy one that you absolutely love and enjoy, than it’s hard to put a price on it. But if you buy a bunch just to have different colors in your collection, than $10 – $15 is plenty.

  84. says

I wouldn’t pay more than $15 and even that is a bit much… it would have to be really special! I like to stay around $5-8 depending on the brand.

  85. says

I’d say no more than $10. I’m pretty fickle with lipsticks, I will adore the color for weeks and then it will end up buried in the bottom of my make-up bag-never to be seen from again.

  86. says

as a cheap college student, i can say that for the next few years i wouldn’t dare spend more than $20 on lipstick, but i as an adult with money to spend, i would say more that $40 is too much to pay for one little tube.

  87. says

I would hesitate buying any lipstick more than $10. I don’t wear it that often and when I do, I choose very natural colors.

  88. Emilia says

I would not pay more than $10 on a lipstick. Normally I see the $8 ones at Walmart/Target/etc and think wow that’s a ridiculous price for just lipstick, haha!

  89. says

For me, $10 is too much to pay for lipstick. I get weary with make-up and I like to concentrate on eye make-up more, anyway :)

    NaomiGrace410(at)gmail(dot)com

  90. says

I don’t think I’d pay more than $10 for lipstick because I’m a college student on a super tight budget, and there are plenty of inexpensive lipsticks out there that look just as good as the pricey ones :)

I thought these two would be expensive but $10 for each? I think I’m going to pick up that pink one this week. They both look lovely on you!

  91. says

It really depends on how much I love the lip product. If I love it I can justify $30 or $40 simply because good products are hard to come by. But if I love it and it costs $10 then I feel great about not spending so much!

  92. says

I think $15 might be my max limit to spend on lipstick. I’ll admit I usually spend $5-10 since I’m usually a tinted chapstick/gloss kind of girl and rarely finish one before I buy another.

  93. says

The most I’ve spent on a lip product is 28 I think. Sugar rose tinted lip balm by fresh. I got it from birchbox. It’s the best stuff ever! I use it all the time!

  94. Anonymous says

I haven’t bought lipstick in quite a long time but I wouldn’t want to spend more than $10 – I’m a bargain hunter.

    Laura

  95. Shannon says

I would say under $10, but I don’t wear lipstick that often, so it would seem like a waste to me.

  96. says

I think $35 is too much to pay for one tube of lipstick. I love beauty products – but I also like to have a lot – too much on one thing (that might not look great) isn’t practical. :)

  97. says

I think a good Lipstick is worth the money. I have some that I paid $25 for and they were very worth it. I have a hard time spending much more than that on just one. But if it’s a pallette I could pay more.

  98. says

I would say more than $20 is too much. I would consider paying $18 for a lipstick that I really love, but even that is a lot. Since I don’t buy lipstick often, I usually buy from the drugstore and pay less than $10.
I can’t wait to try out that Classic Red lipstick though. It looks gorgeous.

  99. Nancy H says

I rarely buy lipstick, more of a lipgloss kind of gal. All of the lipsticks I own now, I have received for free with MAC recycle program.

  100. says

I’m pretty frugal, but with some things…like make up…you get what you pay for. I probably wouldn’t pay more than $20 though. Love your blog!!

I think lipstick is the quickest and easiest way to change your overall look, so its great to have a lot of colors to choose from! The max I’d pay for lipstick is 12$. At that price range you have a lot of variety to choose from and can still afford a couple different colors.

  105. says

I wouldn’t pay anymore than $10. I have spent a fortune on lippys. I have a drawer full…I buy something, think it looks great in the tube then on me…bleck! BTW that red looks fantastic on you…I may have to add it to my collection…hehe.

  106. says

it would have to be some great lipstick to be over $20. Much more than that and you are buying the brand name rather than the product.

  107. says

I guess I am too cheap but I wouldn’t pay more than 6 bucks for a lipstick. I think I’d rather splurge on a lip gloss. Lipstick is too heavy for my every day life, but I do wear it for a night out.

  108. Anonymous says

Probably about 8-10 dollars…I prefer to spend my money on a good quality foundation and blush!

  109. says

I try not to spend more than $15. When I was single and more of a fashion plate, it was probably more like $25. Now that I am a mom of 2, I have to watch my spending! :)

  110. Lee Ann says

I won’t pay over $10, but I may consider paying more if it were a great lipstick and perfect color for me.

  111. says

I have never paid more than $10 but that is also because I have had a hard time finding a good lipstick I like. Maybe if I paid more for a quality brand I might wear them more often.

  112. says

I’d probably spend up to $15 for a *perfect* wear-with-anything lipstick, but I try to stay in the under-$10 range most of the time…

  113. says

I honestly have a problem spending more than $10 on a lipsticks. There are some amazing drugstore lipsticks, and I’ve yet to find a high-end brand that lives up the hype.

  114. says

Hmm. I don’t really wear lipstick all the time, and I find that I’m always getting it for free in my Clinique free gift bags (love those!), so I guess if I were going to PURCHASE lipstick, I probably wouldn’t pay more than $10…although i have been known to succumb to peer pressure and impulse buys, especially at Target!

I would say probably no more than $15 (and at that price the color should be amazing). I’m a thrifty gal and always use coupons!

  116. says

If I’m wearing lipstick, it’s because my mother was feeling generous and offered me one of her own! :) Even though I’m not a lipstick gal, I love seeing the reasonably-priced responses from readers! Makeup makers, take note!

  117. kathy w says

I would not pay more than $10 for lipstick, that way if I want to try others I don’t feel like I have to get my money’s worth because of the cost.

  118. Ann Marie :0) says

Around $6 I usually buy Burt’s Bees Lip Shimmer they are natural, light & have great colors. I always add one in gift bags to family & friends. I keep them in my car, purse, drawers, everywhere!
I have purchased Estee Lauder Pure Color Crystal Gloss-Pink because my sister-in-law had some & I had to ask her what it was because so pretty, it was about $25 and lasted forever. Made me feel special.
    :0)

  119. Megan says

I think $20 would be my limit on lipstick just because I don’t wear it everyday. Now If I tried a sample that I loved and found out later it was over the price point, I might splurge :)

  120. says

My fave is Buxom gloss available at Sephora. It’s an $18 splurge but it works well so I’m willing to make that investment every couple of months.

  121. says

I would probably never pay more than $10 because I don’t wear it very often. However I have been known to spend upwards of $30 on a lipgloss :)

  122. Anonymous says

For everyday wear, I would probably not spend more than $15. If it was for my wedding or something special though, I may splurge!

  123. J. Rogers says

I just bought some Aveda lipstick for $18, but that was because they had a makeup event & they were handing me complimentary wine samples!
As an after thought, I felt a little guilty spending that much, but I kept it anyway. So, really anything over $18 dollars is too much.
So….Target….. if you would like to hand out complimentary wine samples while I shop for some sassy Sonia Kashuk, I probably won’t mind the price! Just kidding, Target is a family store! ;)

I am headed to Target to buy some of this, can’t wait to try it!

  125. says

I don’t think I could bring myself to spend more than $15 on lipstick and even that would be painful to me. Closer to $8-$10 is much more realistic for this stay at home mommy!

  126. says

I am really more of a lip gloss girl, so I have to say that $20 would be too much for me. I did purchase a gloss for $25 once, and I’m not quite sure I’d do it again. Typically under $10 :)

  127. Mandy Terrill says

I can’t imagine spending more than $10 for lipstick. But I’m more of a chapstick (sometimes tinted, usually not) girl myself, so maybe that’s why…

  128. Katie Jane says

For the PERFECT lipstick – prefect color, texture, long-lasting, great in real life & in pictures – I’d pay no more than $40.00. I feel like that’s the wrong answer now that I’m reading all of these comments. In the past, I’ve only ever paid like $12.00 (clearly, I feel the peer pressure!), but I’m just sayin’ if everything was perfect 39.99 is the bottom line!

  129. Lacey says

Probably no more than $25. it depends on the quality and I think you can find some great lipsticks, especially at Target, for around $25 or less. I love Target!

  130. says

I would probably not spend more than like $10-$15 because I am not a regular lipstick wearer so it isn’t really necessary for me to spend a lot on them.

  131. Kerry from Texas says

I seriously could not live without lipstick. Luckily my daughter is a markup artist, so I sometimes get some of hers. I literally put it on before even putting on any other makeup. I really am not sure what my limit would be. I think the most I have paid is $17, but if it was a fabulous color and was flattering on me, you never know what might come out of my wallet.

  132. Amy says

I wouldn’t spend more than $15 for lipstick because I just don’t use it often enough. Eye shadow on the other hand….

  133. says

The most I have ever spent was $32.50 for a chanel lipstick BUT it was only because I loved the color and couldn’t find a close dupe anywhere. I only have one. The rest of my lipstick is revlon or covergirl so an occasional splurge is ok.

  134. says

If I could try the color on beforehand and knew that it looked totally fab on me, I’d pay $25. Otherwise, about $8. Max.

The Sonia Kashuk Classic Red is SO pretty on you! I’ll have to get some with my $2 coupon… :)

  135. says

I don’t ever wear lipstick– I’m more of a tinted chapstick or lipgloss girl– but I think I’d wear lipstick more often if I actually found a color that I really liked on me! I think I wouldn’t like to spend more than $10 on lipstick.

  136. Anonymous says

I would only spend up to $15, however I don’t wear it that often and tend to stick to a gloss.
    –Renee

  137. says

I’d have to really love it to spend more than $10 or so, however I’m a less is more girl; I only use a few beauty products, but I will spend more on the select products that work for me.

  138. Rachel says

I would pay up to $10 to $20 if I found something I really loved. I’m a balm and gloss girl myself!

  139. Paige says

How much is too much to pay for lipstick? $12+… there are too many other things I’d rather spend my money on!
    (prebor@ufl.edu)

  140. says

i would have to say $15 is my max for lip color… i am just now getting into it, and don’t wear it enough to invest any more money than that :)

  141. Anneliz says

I am on a strict budget and I tend to lose my lipsticks/gloss/lip balms fairly easily so I usually don’t go over $10. If I find something I ABSOLUTELY love I might treat myself but definitely not over $20.

  142. Laura Matthews says

There are so many low cost options that are great, so I don’t think I need to spend more than $12 to be happy.

  143. says

I have a hard time forking out much over $5. I think $10 is my limit! I wear a lot of colored gloss and can find great stuff for around 7 or 8 bucks!

  144. says

Well, I just paid $22 for a lip balm (Sugar Plum by Fresh) so I think I would pay a bit more than that for lipstick (maybe up to $30) but it would have to be AMAZING!

  145. says

As a girl on a tight budget, I’d have a tough time spending more than $10. If money weren’t an issue I’d probably have really expensive makeup though! I love playing with makeup!

  146. says

Wow! Both lipsticks look amazing on you! I would not spend more than $10 on lipstick being that I don’t wear lipstick very often but if I found one that looked good on my skin tone and features I’d be willing to spend more. Love target!!

  147. Heather says

I wouldnt pay more than $10-15 for a lipstick. However, Im still trying out lipstick. My opinion could change if I found some amazing!

  148. Anonymous says

It would really depend on how much I love th color and quality. $30 would probably my max on most days

  149. says

I don’t wear lipstick much, so I’d probably keep it under $10, but if was something that I really thought I’d wear a lot (and more neutral), then I’d spend more!

  150. Anonymous says

If its the right one for you, plus it makes u a happy girl… The cost shouldn’t matter much. Can’t put a price on a beautiful smile!

  151. says

Personally, I probably wouldn’t spend more than 25, but I don’t have a ton of money to throw around and my favorite lipsticks (MAC) are all 15ish anyways. If you have the money and it makes you happy, though, I don’t think there’s a line of “this much is categorically too much.”

  152. says

Since I don’t usually purchase lipstick, anything over $5 seems a bit much. Based on your review of these lipsticks, I’d say they’d be worth their money. The hardest thing I have with lipstick is the dry feeling they tend to leave.

  153. Brianna says

Makeup can get so pricey so quickly, I really need to cap the spending before it gets out of control. Every once in a while I will splurge on a fantastic product, but mostly I try to keep lipstick purchases under ten dollars.

  154. says

For me, no more than $15. But there are obviously people out there who make a lot of money and they can obviously pay more. I think more than $30 no matter what should be enough.

  155. says

I think over $18 is too much to pay for lipstick. After all, they do last for a while because I have quite a few different colors to choose from. I love that gorgeous red color. So vibrant for Summer!

  156. says

I don’t wear lipstick everyday, so I don’t like to spend more than $15.00. Maybe if I found one that I LOVED and would wear more often I could spend more.

  157. says

I hate lipstick. I really do. But I’m trying to push my limits a little bit…especially after seeing the SK red you’re wearing in this post. In high school & college I paid $15-$20 for my favorite lipstick, but now I don’t pay more than $5. Then again, I don’t buy real lipstick…just Baby Lips in Grape Vine.

  158. says

For me, since I am just beginning to wear more darker shades of lipstick as opposed to gloss, I usually do not want to pay more than $10. If it was a really great color and feel I would go up to $15 but I think $10 is much more reasonable!

  159. says

—————— I think $40 is too much. Even though I’m a fan of affordable lippies like Covergirl’s Lip Perfection Lipsticks & Wet ‘n Wild’s Megalast Lipsticks, I’d spend money on YSL. I believe it’s worth paying that much for the quality & packaging. :)

Spending more than $15 on lipstick is difficult for me to do, especially since I’m more of a lip gloss gal. :)

  161. says

If you find a product that you love- where the color lasts, and it is actually moisturizing… I don’t think you can put a price tag on it! That ‘must have’ lipstick… I’m still waiting to find!

  162. Anonymous says

I think $15 is about the most and even then I’m not sure I would pay that much!

I cannot put a price on the PERFECT RED! I have been searching for it ages and it still elludes me. I have olive skin with yellow undertones (which is normal), but my natural lip color is quite pigmented and I have naturally rosey cheeks. So most reds appear much darker on my lips and my rosey cheeks make dont go with the reds that are good for yellow undertones…ugh!!! Ive paid up to $40 for a tube..but for everyday looks I like to spend $10-25!!!

  164. says

When I shop for lipstick my wallet cringes at anything over $10. I know that quality sometimes costs more, so I have paid more than that for lipsticks that I like. If they seem like an excessive splurge, it’s worth it to feel good about how you look.

  165. says

The Lord is a wonderful creator and He makes all women beautiful! But I’d say $25 is the most I would ever pay for lipstick (and it would have to be really nice!)

  166. Anonymous says

Those are great colors. I don’t know if anyone has ever told you this, but you would look even more beautiful with like 1/4 of the amount of blush you wear. You can always see the thick line of BLUSH on your cheeks. Less is more! Especially with a bold lip color, you’d be better off with just some contouring using a light bronzer. I’m a mac makeup artist and I just had to say it, I would want someone to tell me!

  167. says

no more than $25. although i just bought and tried sonia kashuk’s lipstick and was AMAZED at how smooth and luxurious it felt! and at such an afforadble price! can’t wait to pick up more colors :)

  168. Christine says

I’m always looking for a red lipstick for my blonde hair/fair skin coloring – looks like I may have found a winner :) thanks, as usual!

  169. says

I’d say no more than $10. I can’t ever find a shade I just LOVE on me so I spend the money and it ends up in the makeup bag of makeup I never wear.

  170. says

I dont think I could spend more then $15 for a lipstick. I havent really dived into that particular world yet, so more then that would be a waste for me.

  171. Holli V says

$10 is my max! Those colors look great on you! I’m usually one just to stick to more natural tones.

  172. says

If i’m getting it from target it had better be under $12. I was going to say I like the pink one the best on you. it picks up the coral in your cheeks and looks great. the red is fabulous too. the red is definitely for special occasions (my opinion).

  173. says

am 51 and if i could find a lipstick that i loved and would stay on me as long as the cost did not break the bank i would buy it !!!!!!!!!!!! But i would say that as someone who has not found a lipstick that i love i would spend no more then 25

  174. says

Rarely do I wear lipstick, I’m more of a gloss kind of girl. If I found something I loved I’d probably spend around $25 since it would last me a very long time. Gloss that I go through fast I’d only spend maybe $5.

  175. says

So I went out and bought a Sonia Kashuk lipstick last night after reading this blog post (I got the Nude Pink) and I love it! And I usually don’t like lipstick so now, after buying this (which was $8.99) I probably would not pay more than $10 for a lipstick. Thanks for this post because I wouldn’t have tried it otherwise!

  176. says

I wouldn’t feel good spending more than $12 on a lipstick. I get heart palpitations spending $17 on my MAC blush and live with buyers remorse for at least a few hours afterwards. :)

  177. says

During this life phase I’m in; newly married, just out of college, swimming in school debt, I am looking for the most economical lipstick with the best quality! I will not budge over 10 for a lipstick! :) Maybe in the future when we win the lottery I can splurge up to 20! :D

  178. says

I am not likely to pay more than 20 bucks for a lipstick….I am more of a gloss girl anyway…..
besides you always have to re-apply no matter what they say….

  179. says

I think it depends on what I’m looking for in the lipstick. If I just want something for a little color and am not interested in longevity or how it feels, then I wouldn’t pay more than $10. If, however, I’m looking for something I won’t have to reapply very often, that feels good (and looks better) my limit is usually $25 (unless my husband is with me…then I just don’t buy any!!)

  180. says

I usually won’t pay more than $10 for a lipstick because I’m horrible about picking colors…but if it’s one I’ve tried, and I know I like it, I’d pay up to $25.

  181. says

I don’t like to pay more than $10, especially from Target/Walmart/drugstores because if you don’t like the color, you can’t return it.

  182. says

I think too much is anything higher than $25. I haven’t gone that high, but there are some that are tempting me… I’d love to try these out! I love Sonia Kashuk makeup, and Target!

  183. says

I usually don’t spend more than $8 when trying new colors. Now if I find a shade I like, I may get a better quality one for like $20.
