Cookie Week: Chocolate Crinkle Cookies

Hello, friends of Kate’s blog! I am so happy to be here today!

My name is Lindsay & I am the blog author of Southern Lovely. I love a good DIY & being able to create beautiful things in my life, for a minimal cost.

Today I am going to show you a very popular recipe at my house. A sweet friend gave it to me years ago, and we have loved it ever since.Let’s begin..
You will need:
1 1/2 sticks butter
Cocoa Powder
Sugar
2 Eggs
Vanilla
Flour
Baking Soda
Baking Powder
12 oz. bag of Chocolate Chips

mix together:
3/4 cup melted butter
1/2 cup cocoa powder
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla

Then in a separate bowl, mix:
2 cups flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. baking powder

Then add to wet ingredients & mix well

Pour bag of chocolate chips in & mix together

**Refrigerate for at least 2 hours**

Roll into small balls, then roll in 1/2 cup of powdered sugar

Bake at 350 degrees for 9 1/2 minutes–do not over bake these!

They should come out looking fluffy & beautiful :)

And trust me, they are some of the best tasting chocolate cookies out there. :)

These are some of my all time favorite cookies!! I got the recipe for them several years ago (maybe 7?) from my sister in law, and whenever I make them, they IMMEDIATELY disappear. SOOOO yummy!! I think we called them Zebra Cookies or something?? Thanks for reminding me anyway, now I need to go make some!! ;)

Thanks so much for sharing these, Lindsay! My mom used to make a similar version (without chocolate chips) that we called Chocolate Kisses. I made your version last night and they are AMAZING! I thought they might have been underbaked but I let them set overnight and they are perfect!!! So yummy!

I made these for a Christmas Party and they were a huge hit! I didn’t have enough chocolate chips so I added some white chips. Delish! Thanks for sharing.

Hi Kate, just wanted to let you know that I love this cookie recipe! I baked them for the first time after reading this blog in 2011 and I’ve done it so many times since. Every time I make the cookies everyone asks for the recipe because they like them so much!
Keep up the good work :)
