Hair and Makeup Tips for Glasses
Links + Loves
I’ve been wearing glasses more and more these days ever since I got my cool frames from David Kind. Prior to these, I never took the time to invest in frames that I liked so I simply reserved my glasses for evenings or sick days.
I love having the option of wearing my glasses and have enjoyed playing around with my makeup a bit to balance out the darkness of the frames!
Some of the most common issues for glasses wearers include the overall look of darkness around the eye area, makeup smudging where the frames rest on the nose, and losing the impact of pretty eye makeup behind the frames.
As far as hair is concerned, bangs can either add to or really take away from wearing glasses. Through the years as a stylist, I learned a good gauge for an idea length of bangs if my clients wore glasses regularly.
So, let’s start with makeup.
Follow the guide of your frames. If they are bold or dark, feel free to go pretty thick with your eyeliner (especially on your upper lid) and layer the mascara. If your frames are more delicate or fine, go for a slightly thinner, crisper line.
A great way to help your eyes to pop behind glasses is to use a slightly iridescent eyeshadow in the center of your lid. This will reflect light nicely, and help brighten up the entire eye area. If you don’t want to use an iridescent shade all over your lid, just focus it right in the center, above any eyeliner you are wearing. Use a small brush to add brightness right to the center of your lid, and while you are at it, hit the inner corner as well.
Don’t skip highlighting the brow bone, or the top of the cheeks. The more brightness you can add, the better! Also do not forget to fill in your eyebrows! Don’t think they’ll just be hidden behind the frames. It will make a big difference in how your face is framed, and your makeup will look more complete.
If you struggle with your foundation collecting around the nose part of the frames, first try setting with translucent powder. If you are still dealing with that issue, skip applying foundation to that area altogether, and just dab lightly with concealer. Then set with a translucent powder. This should help avoid excess product build up.
Be creative with your lip color! I love the look of a fun, bold lip on a woman wearing glasses.
one, two, three, four, five, six
I have heard great reviews of the Maybelline The Nudes palette. It has a nice mix of shimmery and matte shadows, and plenty of dark ones to add depth to the crease of your eye. Bite is known for highly pigmented lip color, so if you prefer something a little glossier and subtle, check out the fresh Sugar lip tints.
Benefit’s They’re Real! Push Up Liner will give you a dark, inky, pigmented line. Perfect for being seen through lenses. And Mac’s Zoom Fast Black Lash has become a recent must have for me! It delivers serious impact without the weight of a heavy mascara.
I love It cosmetics’ Bye Bye Undereye, and I can’t wait to get my hands on this highlight stick.
As far as hair is concerned, it never hurts to add a bit of volume to the back of your hair. Proportion and balance are important not only when it comes to the cut, but the styling as well. While you are wearing glasses, you are adding something that takes up more visual space to the very front of your face, so balance that out by teasing the back a bit.
If you like to wear side bangs, or are considering getting them, it is vital to wear or bring your glasses to your hair appointment! Request that your bangs are cut dry, so you can determine the actual length of your hair while styled. Wet hair can shrink quite a bit, so having them cut after they are dry will ensure you don’t wake up to a surprise the next morning.
There’s nothing worse than a “shelf” of bangs, whether you wear glasses or not, so asking your stylist to “point cut” or texturize your bangs will help them lay nicely, and taper into the rest of your hair.
If you prefer a full face frame, I’d recommend not cutting your bangs above your eyebrows. Any space left between the top of the frame and the bottom of your bangs may “disconnect” your entire look.
Of course, none of my tips are hard and fast rules. They are just my suggestions if you need a little guidance in that area.
As I was thinking about this post, I thought it would be fun to see if David Kind wanted to jump in on the action and offer something to my readers. So I’m happy to tell you that David Kind is giving away a free pair of frames to a lucky reader!
You can read all about my experience choosing my frames here, but since that post David Kind has updated how you receive your try-on set. I can’t even begin to tell you how thrilled I was to see this post this morning. I used to wear contact lenses for so many years but after giving birth twice already (currently pregnant with #3!) it seems that my eyes just can’t handle having something stuck to them anymore…so it’s been back to glasses for me for the past 4 years.
I love my frames, which are similar to yours except they are black, but I always struggled with my eye makeup. Your tips are great and I will definitely try them out! I also used to have bangs which was always so annoying with the way they hung over my thick frame. If I ever get them cut again, I will know what to do!
Have you ever had your hormones checked? After my third, I was unable to wear contacts. I has my hormones checked for another issue. Once I started hormone cream, I was back in contacts within a week.
Thanks for the tip! I’ll discuss it with my doctor next time I see her.
Laurel frames are cute!
Thank you so much for this post! As someone who has worn glasses since middle school, this is something I struggle with often!
I would love to get David Kind glasses. I really need a new look!
Love the Trenton frames!!
I’ve worn contacts for years because I never thought I could make glasses ” work” with hair and makeup – thanks so much for this post!
I enjoy reading all your posts but I must say, this is one of my favorites! I have been wearing glasses since I was two years old! With each year that passes, I embrace my glasses more and look to them as a fashion accessory! I wear contacts less and less as honestly they bother my eyes. Thank you for the tips! Hope to win! Happy holidays!!!!
This post came at the perfect time! Within the past year, I have transitioned to glasses only from wearing contacts since I was 12 {it’s been many, many years! ;)}
This month I got a new pair that are much lighter and thinner than the heavy, thick frames I’ve used for years. This has been a HUGE adjustment for me!! I’m so glad to have a few more makeup tips to help me feel better about how I look overall in my new frames.
I so needed this post! As a wearer of glasses myself, I constantly struggle with make-up and often just leave my eyes bare (shriek!). This post has given me some great tips that I cannot wait to try out! Thanks so much! I would love to win a new pair of frames as the ones in sporting are 3 years old. Time for a change. I really like the Mia in Rust!
The Trenton and the Laurel are my favorites! They have great colors too!
Love the Louis frames;)
What a great giveaway!!! I really like the Laurel ones!
I really love your frames!!!!! I would be super thrilled to receive a pair of frames.
You look so nice in those glasses. Of course, you always do! Would you be able to do a tutorial on how to add highlights to your face? That would be awesome!
This is so helpful – I’m always trying to figure out my best options for bangs and makeup while wearing my glasses! And I really love the Laurel and Louis frames. 🙂
I love the Mia ones!
I’m having a hard time deciding! I think the aces are my favorite!
Thanks so much for your blog post!! 🙂 I have one question in regards to glasses and bangs… . I’m 26 years old and have had bangs my entire life due to a big red birth mark on half of my forehead and over one eyelid. My bangs (a little over my eye) covers it up pretty well, but I feel like glasses just don’t look particularly good. That’s why I only go to work with contacts… . My question would be if you have any recommendations or styling tips; that would be so great!! 🙂
I like the Laurel or Mia! How fun! The worst part of choosing glasses at the optometrist office is that the people who know you most (like my hubby) aren’t there to help choose.
i have the optometrist office take pictures of me wearing different frames with my cell phone.. then i can look at the photos to see which ones i like best. i find this works well 🙂
This is great! I gave up glasses many years ago and now only wear them in the evenings! I haven’t splurged on glasses since 2009 so I’ve resolved to get a pair in 2015! These are great tips and I’d love a little help picking them out!
What a great post! I wear glasses with dark, thick frames every day and have struggled with what eye makeup to wear as well as the foundation buildup. Thanks so much for the helpful tips!
New Rose or Atlas for me!
Thank you for this post! I recently began wearing some hand me down frames from my sister to give my tired eyes a break from contacts. I have such petite features and I’ve been trying to figure out how to make my makeup stand out with glasses.
I like the Raleigh……
Thank you for this post! I’m a new full time glasses wearer and I’ve been struggling with getting my make-up to look just right. I’ve seen several posts about the David Kind glasses and I’m super impressed with how they manage to find the perfect set of frames for everyone I’ve seen. I’d love to try his glasses.
There were so many great choices, but my favorites were the Ace or Raleigh.
Roman and Laurel are my favorite styles. Thank you for the post, I didn’t know such a service was offered. It’s very frustrating to not like the styles offered at the eye doctor. Crossing my fingers I win!
love the raleigh frames
I love the Mia and Trenton.
There are just too many to choose from…I love them all!
I love the Mia. Do they make non prescription eye glasses!! I would love to wear some but have 20/20 vision!! haha
My favorite is the Laurel but I am typically drawn to frames like that and I would love the input of a stylist at David Kind to see what they recommend! Thanks for the helpful tips on eye makeup with glasses!
I love the Mia and Laurel frames! Never worn glasses and in the market for some. Winning this would be awesome!
I love the style you’re wearing!!!
Ooooooo the Laurel stole my heart!
I am so excited to see this post! One problem I was hoping you might cover is foundation rubbing off on the bottom of your frames. Do you have any recommendations? Thanks for the giveaway!
Never mind. Obviously I just skimmed through the first time through.
Is there something wrong with your sister? Her blog post suck anymore!
That’s not very nice. I love Lauren’s blog posts.
I like the Laurel frames!
I love the Mia frames!
I like the Trenton because I like the bold look of the frames. But there are many cute options to choose from!!
I L O V E this post! I’m a daily glasses “wearer” and all of these tips are SO helpful! I’d love for you to do a follow up post on accessorizing with glasses…what jewelry to avoid, or hair styles to avoid.
Thanks so much Kate! I look forward to your posts every week! 🙂
The Laurel frames are my favorite 🙂
I like Atlas, but I’d be curious to see what a stylist would pick for me!
I’m having a hard time deciding! I like the ace, laurel, Louis, and Mia!!
I love the New Rose style!
Those mia frames are wonderful!!!
I love the Atlas frames in Tiger Eye!
Love your tips! And as a glasses wearer for all of my adult life, your tips are SPOT ON.
My family/friends always question my reasoning for wearing iridescent eye shadow everyday. When my glasses are off (which is only in the early morning and late evening), I might look like I’m ready for a night out 😉 . But with my glasses on, no one would even notice I bothered to put my ‘face’ on without it.
You might add that lash curling is a must– as layering on mascara (which is needed) can make your lashes brush against your lens!
i love the Otto ones!
As a 20 plus years glasses wearer I love this giveaway! Loving the Louis style frames!
The atlas in heather are beautiful! Not sure if they’ll work for me, I’ve always struggled with picking out glasses! Which is why this is such a wonderful service!
I love both the Ace and the Otto frames.
I love the Louis fames in Dusk! so chic!
The clover frames are my favorite!
I wear frames exclusively, and am excited about this giveaway. I like how David Kind gives you 6 different frames to try for a few days. It takes away the doubt of ordering online.
YAY! So glad a post on girls with glasses! I have worn them since third grade and I love this post! Thank you Kate!
As a contact-wearing, glasses-hating person from about 14 through 25 years of age, I was DEVASTATED when my eye doctor told me I could no longer wear my contacts if I was going to be working on the computer for longer than 15-30 minutes at a time. AND I had to get progressive lenses (hello $$$$). So now I am a glasses wearer throughout the week and only wear my contacts on the weekends (if I’m not too lazy to put them in!).
I have a really hard time finding cute frames where I live and when I do find the perfect pair, I am always shelling out some serious cash. The David Kind glasses are WAY cheaper and are completely adorable! I’m obsessed with the Louis, Otto, and Mia frames (I really wish I could pull that green color off because it’s awesome!).
And I’m so glad you talked about the bang shelf issue with glasses. I went through several different stylists when I first moved to Springfield because they just didn’t get how to cut my hair so I didn’t get the bang shelf when I put my glasses on. My current stylist totally gets it and I no longer have to pin up my bangs on a daily basis to avoid the dreaded shelf!
I like the gray or tortoise Trenton frames!
I love the Mia!
I loved the Laurel in the tortoise
I love the Ace or Trenton frames!
These are great tips that I live by as I wear glasses 6 out of 7 days of the week. I go for extra highlighting under the eyes and inner corner of the eyes, thicken up my liner depending on my frames, and go for a bold lip! When I wear glasses I tend to push my bangs out of my face, but never consciously thought about that until now. Great post!
xx
Jenny // Mish Mosh Makeup
I love the Laurel frames…although the Trenton ones are a close second!
Love the Mia frames! I never wear my glasses because they are so uncomfortable on my ears and nose. But I’ve thought about investing in a better pair I can wear more often. My husband would love these bold frames… He thinks nerdy frames are sexy. 🙂
I think I like the Mia! I would love to use a company that ensures you get a great fit for my small face!
I really love your glasses and have since you posted your find through David Kind. We have a similar face shape and in my search for glasses I wanted something a little different from what I usually wear and had a really hard time finding it. I think the Mia in Rust or even black would be a great change for me, I may even consider branching out green although I feel that would be way outside my comfort zone! David Kind appears to be a great brand, thanks for sharing! 🙂
So hard to choose, but I like the Raleigh and the new rose
Perfect post that comes at such a perfect moment!
I needed new glasses and worked with David Kind to get some. I’ve needed vision correction for now 14 years, and never ever have I own a pair of glasses that I loved enough to wear outside of the house. I’ve found the perfect pair for me: the Laurel in rust, but I hesitated between them and the Mia!
I finally understood why I didn’t like wearing glasses before: simply because the quality of lenses I used to get was not high enough to show my eyes through them! I thought I looked washed out as I couldn’t see my makeup. David Kind’s lenses are so clear and thin that the glasses actually bring something more to my face! I love them so much that I’ve been wearing them at work, and that says a lot.
Thanks for the advice about bangs, as I’m about to have my overgrown ones trimmed!
My Christmas wish would be to own the “Laurel” frames!!!!
I love the Atlas frames in Tiger Eye!
I love the Raleigh frames in Dusk!
Uh, I’m digging those Mia’s. Thanks for sharing!
This is such an amazing giveaway! Like you, I only ever wear my glasses in the evenings or weekends at home. They are simply not my style anymore and so I feel uncomfortable wearing them in public. I really love the Clover frames and would feel cute and confident wearing them to work, out with friends, etc. Thanks for all the make-up and hair tips as well – I definitely understand the struggle there!
This post couldn’t have come at a better time, I just learned I need glasses on Tuesday! I’ve never needed them before and haven’t been that excited about the idea of wearing them. This was just the help I needed!
I’m a glasses whore; okay, let me explain. I adore glasses! Sunglasses, prescription glasses and the like are one of many weaknesses. I fell in love with the Roman glasses because they’re classic but with a twist.
I have also struggled to put on makeup when wearing my glasses and I’ve been wearing glasses since I was 9 years old (I’m not 33) so it’s been a LOOOOOOOONNG TIME that I’ve been wearing them.
I currently own a really cool pair but definitely need a new pair and the Roman glasses would be a wonderful addition to my glasses rotation.
BTW, I love yours and am jealous that you can wear them due to your face shape. I, alas, have a different face shape so usually have to work with something a bit more square to balance my face out.
You look so pretty in glasses Kate! 🙂 i started wearing glasses the summer due to being nearsighted. :/ i love my glasses and i never thought about how my makeup looked with my glasses; although, i did worry about people being able to see my makeup through my glasses. But its fine now, i usually wear eyeshadow, mascara and blush and that completes the look for me. I think eyeliner looks to harsh on me. ( i also hate doing it! ) my frames are smaller and black, but they have an adorable zebra strip on the side. 🙂
I’ve never been able to do mascara and glasses. Even with curling, it just smears all over my lenses. The feeling of them brushing against them is annoying!
Thanks for the post. I appreciate the tips. As a glasses wearer for the past 10+ years finding ways to make my eye makeup pop have been difficult.
I am SO SO tempted. I’ve been wanting a new pair of glasses. I LOVE the Trenton and Louis frames. I’m going to look more into getting my vision insurance to pay!
i was just thinking the other day how I’d love to do this! My glasses are old and I don’t know the best style for my face! I need their help!
Great post! I always feel so blah on the days I wear my glasses! I’m so blind without contacts or glasses on though that it’s hard for me to even do eye makeup without them…and it always seemed silly to put in my contacts to do eye makeup so I could take them out to wear my glasses! haha! Any tips for that?!
I have this problem also!! Im so blind that I struggle to see myself an inch or so from the mirror! I kind of have a stab at it with mascara (mostly by feel) then quickly put my glasses back on to survey the damage and clean up!! Oh the joys of being blind as a bat!!
Lol Kelly! I know this routine well!! 🙂
Such a great & timely post, Kate! I have worn glasses for the last 5 years. I am going to try your tip with the iridescent shadow on the upper lid. I have a hair appointment today, considering bangs and I usually take my glasses off first thing. Now I know to keep them on! Love your blog, btw!
THANK YOU for doing a post about this! I have worn frames for almost 20 years now and I was never a make up aficionado before but I always thought I should do my makeup differently since I do wear frames. I love experimenting to see what looks great but this little tutorial of yours is great for every day. Again, love this post and your blog!
Love the laurel frames! I could definitely use an updated pair of frames!!
Such a great post! It never occurred to me to adjust my hairstyle while wearing my glasses. I am digging the clear frames. I am usually a brown frame kind of girl except for the time in sixth grade that I rebelled and got red frames. This post also made me realize I have been wearing glasses since second grade. Wow!
I love the Trenton frames but am interested what they say would look good on my face!
The Laurel frames are my favorite.
I love the Trenton frames. And I actually do own them since I did the try-on process after your last post about David Kind! I love my glasses…they are so comfortable and I get lots of compliments when I wear them. Also, the lenses are so much clearer and crisper than any I’ve owned before. Very, very happy with my purchase!
Since I saw you on Instagram wearing this frame, I’ve been searching all over the internet to find one like yours without breaking the bank. I use contacts all the time but it’s really necessary a pair of frame for those lazy days! I’m so glad you’re making this giveaway! Do i need to say that your glasses are the one I want to win!!
I currently have Laurel in Rust! I loved my experience! If I were to choose a second pair, it would be Mia in either Midnight or Tortoise. My only question, how do you get your mascara on! I’m pretty blind in the -7.5 range, and I cannot get close enough to see myself put on my mascara! Lol! Do you use a magnifier mirror?
Thank you for the tips!! I love love the Clover frame in the Dune color. What a classic style and really cool coloring!
I love the Raleigh in the light color. I have really puffy cheeks so it is hard finding frames that won’t move when I smile. I would be very interested in seeing what they would pick for me.
I love them all!!!
Top three favorite are:
Mia in Leaf
Otto in Diamond
Roman in Rosewood
You look great in yours!!!
Thanks for the opportunity. I really think the laurel, oriole, and new rose are just my style! 🙂
Thanks for this post- great ideas and options for when I wear glasses! I love the Laurel and Ace frames. But I have a feeling the stylist would try to push my limits a little and pick either the Roman or Clover frames. Those are both a little more hipster, but I think they would be fun to wear!!
I love the New Rose. I just got an updated prescription last week and have been putting off getting new glasses because I can’t decide what to get. This service would really help!! Thanks for the tips. As someone who wears glasses all the time, I will definitely put the tips to good use!
I love the Mia and Laurel frames, so cute!!
Great, helpful post! I love the Mia’s!
Great giveaway! I love the Louis frames in Pine!
Oh kate this post could not have been come at better time, i am struggling with my looks at 7 months post partum dealing with hair loss, so was planning to get hair cut and new frames and was just browsing david kind few days ago. I would love to have new rose in heather. It would be perfect birthday gift for me, which is today.
I wish someday i could get hair cut from you and thanks for make up tips, i struggle with eye make up and wearing glasses from 3rd standard.
I like the Trenton.
As someone who wears glasses on a pretty regular basis, I love seeing tips like these. Simple, effortless and very accurate!
Thanks for the great post!
Best,
Araba K.

I am so excited about this giveaway! I have horrible vision and have to wear glasses/contacts. So I try to pick out fun ones that I don’t mind seeing in the mirror everyday. So this is pretty neat!
great post! i love the raleigh and trenton frames. i think i do all of these makeup tips already haha, so glad we’re on the same page 🙂
I think I like the Laurel frames in tortoise the best!
I love the Ace frames!
I love this concept! And I love the frames you have on! They look similar to the ones I have been thinking about purchasing at a retail eyeglass shop.
I love the Trenton frames. They are beautiful.
These are beautiful! I’ve worn glasses since I was 4 years old and I’m now 44. I have always been at a lost as to how to do my make up – more on the eyes? Less on the eyes? Oomph the lips or not? Thanks for this post!
I do believe the Mia frames are calling my name!!!
I like Rhodes in Matte Charcoal.
I like the Laurel frames.
I like the Raleigh frames.
I love the Raleigh frames!
Thank you for these tips!
I really like the Oriole frames but there are so many nice ones.
I love the Louis!
Thanks for the chance to win. Merry Christmas!
This was a super helpful post! I love your frames–they are probably my favorite overall, although I might go for a green or gray color.
Hah! You look so grown up with your glasses but still so cute! And smart! he he!
The Laurel frames, but I would also like their expert opinion!
I am so grateful that you wrote this post! As many other people have said I used to be a nonstop contacts wearer but have recently had to stop. I have 100% stopped wearing makeup because I could never get it right with glasses, but I’m hoping now that I’ll figure it out. Thanks again!!!
the Trenton frames
i like the trenton frames
I love the Raleigh frames! I would love the chance to give my eyes a break from contacts, and if the clarity shown in the comparison of their lenses is accurate- I would definitely wear glasses more!
This is a great blog post! I started wearing glasses on and off, usually just for reading, a few years back and was never sure how I should wear my makeup or hair! I love the glasses you have, and the makeup look is beautiful.
Becky, x // http://undertheseabeauty.blogspot.ca/
The Rhoades frames are adorable! 🙂
Great tips and I sooo need new glasses! I think I’d pick Ace but I’d love to see what the DK stylist would recommend!
I like Otto! I’ve been wearing glasses on and off since I was 8, but since college I’ve been wearing my glasses 24/7. Thanks for these makeup tips.
I looovee your Mia glasses! I would love to have a pair for myself 🙂
I really like the Atlas frames.
THANK YOU for this! I am always struggling with my hair and makeup on the days I wear my glasses. This has been beyond helpful and it almost makes me that much more excited to wear my glasses!
The Otto frames!!
I’ve seen so many bloggers rave about their David Kind glasses! I just went to the optometrist last week and ordered more contacts (under insurance). Realized I really need to update my glasses with the new prescription – they are 4 years old. Like you I save my glasses for sick days and evenings, but I would love to wear them on a more regular bases if I had better looking frames. Thanks for the opportunity. My favorite designs area: Oriole, Raleigh, Laurel, Trenton and Mia!!
Mia in Rust!
The Laurel frames are gorgeous!
Love the Mia frames!
I adore the Laurel frames in Tortoise! I actually ordered a try-on set after your initial David Kind post and fell in love with them but then due to infertility treatment costs I put the order on hold. Oh the things we will do for a family & little ones! Happy holidays to you and yours!
I like the Trenton frames in tortoise!
I am getting ready to get glasses for the first time. I love the Laurel and Trenton both. I can’t decide which one I love more!!!
I love the Louis frames!
I love the Louis in Dusk!
Thanks so much for sharing this! As a glasses wearer myself I have always found it difficult to do my eye makeup because my frames usually hide the pretty details! I really need some new ones and all the options David Kind offers look so fun. You look stunning in your new glasses btw!
I love the Laurel ones!
Thank you for the helpful tips! I wear glasses everyday– all day and these are tips I will be applying. I really like the Raleigh tortoise.
Im so thrilled you did this post!! I used to always wear contacts, but the several eye surgeries, retinal detachments and the threat of Glaucoma has pushed me back to glasses. Its so hard to find any tips & hints, so this post is amazing!
Im not sure if you would have any advice on how to make eyes seem bigger behind glasses? My prescription is so strong that its makes me eyes appear much smaller (one more than the other!) Im always worried that liner etc will make them shrink up even more!
Im getting my hair cut into a longer pixie style on Tuesday, so will definitely take your advice on board there regarding hair.
Sad that I cant enter the comp as Im in Australia, but good luck to all the entries! I will be jealous!!
I like the Raleigh in citrine quartz. Looks unique. I am definitely in the market for glasses.
These are SUCH great tips!! Thank you, thank you, thank you! i just got a fun, chunkier pair of frames a few months ago, and have really ben struggling with how to wear my hair with them. I have really thin hair, and it just seems like it gets completely lost and my glasses become the focus of everything. Excited to try out these tips! Thanks again!!
Atlas (but hard to pick a fav with that selection)
I love both the Trenton and new rose ones!
I love the Louie frames!
I have been thinking about glasses lately. I’ve been wearing contacts and haven’t gotten new frames in 6 years! The struggle with dry eyes can be bothersome. Some of those new rose frames might make me convert back to a glasses wearer!
I think this is a great way to purchase frames. It really helps to have suggestions from a stylist. It makes getting new glasses fun. This site has a lot of really sophisticated frames. Love the “Arbitus” frames.
Love the Louis frames! I need a new pair of glasses!
Meg

Love the Raleigh and New Rose.
I had LASIK 6 years ago and have LOVED it but I now need reading glasses. Like, all the stinkin’ time. I wear the ones from Target’s Dollar Spot but would love something cute. The ones at my doctor are about $600 so it would be great to find a less expensive or free pair!
And…. I’m still loving that Maybelline The Nudes. Love. I just wish I knew how to experiment with different techniques with shadow. I’ve pretty much done the same thing since my grandmother took me to the Clinique counter at age 12!
the trenton in glacier grey are pretty. my biggest issue with makeup and glasses is that i can’t really see when putting on eye make up 🙁 my eyeliner is always wonky and i need like 3 q-tips to fix it every time. it’s kind of hilarious and exhausting at the same time. I’m glad you wrote this! not too common to find tips for makeup & wearing glasses. and i wear mine all the time, since i was 6 🙂
I really like the Raleigh frame in the tortoiseshell color. Thanks for this post also! I used to wear contacts most of the time but because of changes with my prescription I have to wear glasses exclusively now. I found it challenging to figure out what to do with my bangs because long side-swept bangs don’t lay right for me anymore. Cutting them shorter has worked so far but I will keep in mind your suggestion to have the stylist cut them dry if I want to try going longer again in the future.
I really like the New Rose or the Laurel! These are so beautiful. Ever since my sweet son has started wearing glasses I haven’t bought any new frames for myself- so add me to the list of people who really hope they win!
great giveaway and post! i wear my glasses all day everyday so i love your tips here, sometimes i get into a little rut with my glasses and make up!
As someone who wears glasses on a daily basis, I love this post! As for the frames, I love the Ace! This is an awesome service.
I love the Laurel and the Mia! I’ve been wanting to try David Kind glasses for a while now, so I was excited to see this post!
I’ve worn glasses/contacts for 30 years and have never really had a pair of frames that I love. I would definitely like to try David Kind frames. Trenton and Mia are my favs.
I like the Ace frames! Thanks for the tips 🙂
I have the Maybelline Nudes and I LOVE it! There are so many options, while keeping a similar pallate. Honestly, it makes it hard to mess up/mis-match. Plus, the black is great to use w/ an eyeliner brush for a less rigid line.
Thanks for sharing!
I really like the Trenton frames. My husband was just bugging me to get some new glasses since my 1year old broke mine. Whoops!
I just signed up for a home trial. I think the Laurel style would look good on me, but I cant wait to see what the stylist picks out for me!

Loved this post! However, I have an issue with my lashes hitting my lenses. I suppose they always do it, but when I wear mascara with my glasses on it’s way more noticeable and extremely annoying! Any tips for a mascara that makes my lashed look full but not feel hard?
Great post. I’ve recently invested in some great glasses and have started to wear them all the time too. It’s so worth spending the money on a pair you really love!
