All the Healthy Hair Products I love (+ which one is my absolute favorite!)

If your goal is to restore health back into your hair this year, check out these recommendations for the best softening, hydrating, healing, and protecting treatments!

Karité Nutri Intense Nourishing Oil – This is a pre-shampoo treatment! You MUST wash it out. You can spray it on about 10 minutes prior to washing, or leave it on much longer if you so desire. It is, hands down, the most dramatic softening treatment I’ve ever done.

Pureology Color Fanatic Multi-Tasking Deep-Conditioning Hair Mask – It’s a fantastic deep conditioner that offers so many benefits to the hair. My hair feels so soft and hydrated after using this!

Bumble and bumble Bond-Building Repair Treatment – I like this because it’s an easy product to use in the shower. It helps repair broken bonds in the hair! Doesn’t necessarily leave you with increidible softness, but it does help support damaged hair.

CAVIAR Anti-Aging® Restructuring Bond Repair Leave-In Overnight Serum – This is such an easy to use overnight product that will make your hair feel new. This is also a wash out product, not a leave-in serum!

Bumble and bumble Hairdresser’s Invisible Oil 72-hour Hydrating Hair Mask – I love this mask because it hydrates, softens, and adds shine to your hair without weighing it down.

K18 Biomimetic Leave-In Molecular Repair Hair Mask – We’re all about bond repair these days, which is important, and this product is designed to heal and restore the hair. It’s similar to Olaplex but I get more lasting softness with K18 than I do with Olaplex.

Pureology Color Fanatic Multi-Tasking Leave-In Conditioner – This leave-in treatment smells lovely and adds a light softness, smoothness, and detangling to the hair. I use this on myself and my daughter.

Bumble and bumble Hairdresser’s Invisible Oil Ultra-Rich Hyaluronic Treatment Lotion – This is one of the few serums I can apply to my hair to help nourish my ends that doesn’t leave my hair feeling heavy. I want my hair to swing and move, and this treatment adds hydration and smoothness without weight.

Kératase Resistance Heat Protecting Leave-In Treatment – Similar to the one mentioned just above, this is a lightweight but effective leave-in serum to help hydrate and protect my hair.

VIRTUE Healing Oil – I only like using this on dry, styled hair. Not only does it soften and hydrate dry ends, but it helps heal the hair! I had a very specific area of damage around my face and this oil healed the broken section so it could grow back out.

Alterna Caviar Anti-Aging Replenishing Moisture CC Cream – This smells so nice and adds softness and smoothness to the hair, along with heat protection!

As you can see, each of these products offers great things to the hair, and it’s simply a matter of preference of use and what your hair needs. Of the mix, though, the product I’d likely recommend the most is the Bumble and Bumble Hairdressers Invisible Oil 72 Hour Hydrating Mask. Why? Because it will make your hair feel healthy and strong and hydrated, without any of the weight you may not want.

You can’t go wrong with any of them, but my guess is most people would be happy with the results of this one.

Do you have any recommendations for a drug store product? Love your recommendations, just in a tight budget this year.

Any drugstore recommendations that are “almost” as good as the expensive products?

Thanks for recommending the Virtue Healing Oil. I really love it and it has helped my damage in my color treated hair. Plus it smells so great.

You always have excellent recommendations and I so appreciate all the work that goes into what you do for all us beauty lovers of everything cosmetics, skincare, hair products, fragrance & more.

Happy New Year to you & your family!

Where does the Briogeo Don’t Despair, Repair! fall into this ranking? I bought that at your recommendation during a Sephora sale and not sure if I should look into one of the others instead?

It’s great! Like I said, there are a handful of others I’ve used and recommend (including some I left under my sink when I filmed this)!

Any product recommendations for oily hair? These are all way too greasy/moisturizing for me.

You shared a different Pureology mask about a week ago that didn’t make this list. I bought it because you recommended it but wondering if you like these better. Regretting my quick purchase. ☹️

I’m 99% sure I shared the color fanatic one from Pureology, which is the only mask I use from that brand. it’s great!

But in your last links and small things you have the Pureology Hydrate Soft one linked? You said above you only use the Fanatic one?

Reply
Kate says · 01.12.23

Thanks for pointing that out! That is not correctly linked and I’m sorry for the confusion! The Color Fanatic one is the one I use. The “soft” one would be great, but I haven’t tried it. I’ll update that link now.

Do you have recommendations for any drugstore options? I need a good deep conditioner but am hoping for something at a lower price point. Thanks!

I love the Virtue Healing Oil for my geezer, bleached hair. I use it on wet hair, right out of the shower. I shake it into very wet hands and work it into ends of hair. I must agree with another commenter. I think the Pureology mask you recommended a while back is Hydrate Superfood Deep Treatment Mask. I’ve been using it as conditioner and love it.

I have a ton of breakage around my face where I tuck my straight hair behind my ears….best treatment to strengthen that area? Is it the Virtue Healing Oil?

I would highly recommend that, yes!

Hi Kate!
I’ve loved your blogs and all your videos since forever!
I’m hoping you can help me with my hair. Lately it’s been getting flaky and itchy. I’ve never colored my hair. I’m a brunette with a lot of fine hair. It’s rather healthy and I cut it maybe once or twice a year.
Hoping you can give me some tips on what to use for scalp treatment.
I’ve been using Hairtage shampoo and conditioner since it doesn’t have all the added ingredients and the creator is another local creator here in Texas. I hope you can help!

Would love to hear from you, take care!

What is your preferred heat protection product? Thank you!

Hello,

Do you have a suggestion for a good molding clay for definition and hair separation? I have a straight bob style cut, somewhat similar to your cut and I was using the Living Proof molding clay that appears to have been discontinued. Thanks so much.

Looking at these and watching your video on them, I have decided to try the René Furterer KARITE NUTRI pre-shampoo treatment, the K18, and the Hairdresser’s Invisible Oil 72 Hour Hydrating Hair Mask by Bumble and Bumble. I already have the Pureology Color Fanatic spray.
I wash my hair 3 times a week. How often should I use each of these products?

I’m a natural brunette but as I age I’m going more blond. My hair is soft kinda fly away, I feel like it’s frizzy and very elastic like. How can I repair this or do I need to? Help please 🙏
