F.A.Q. // “Do I need to wash my hair before my hair appointment?”

August of 2021 was incredibly slow. I remember feeling this lag, a bit of burn out, and anxiously awaiting cooler temperatures and a new season.

August 2022 is proving to be the exact opposite. I feel like I have 100 things spinning in motion! In regards to this week specifically, my parents stayed at my house for a few days prior to moving over to my sisters’ house to babysit Liam, and in that time they redecorated the kids bedrooms. They aren’t completely finished yet, they all need a bit more art and those final touches to make it complete, but they look so fresh with new rugs, a few new pieces of furniture, and fresh paint.

I’m really excited about next week because I’m doing a few hairstyles in person at the Evereve in Durham, at Southpoint Mall. It’s been a few years since I’ve had the chance to do this, and it’s one of my most favorite things. It’s such a fun and casual way to watch a hair demonstration, ask questions while I’m working, and meet other wonderful people. It’s a completely free event, and 15% of sales at Evereve during the event will go to the Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina.

If you are planning on coming, will you please RSVP? It’s helpful for us to plan if we know how many people to expect!

And here are a few things I mentioned on Instagram Stories recently that you may have missed:

Some Great Classic Madewell Finds:

Supima Cotton T-Shirt – I’ve had mine for years and it washes so well.

Whisper Cotton T-Shirt

Perfect Vintage Jeans in Ainsworth Wash – probably my favorite perfect vintage jeans with the raw hem.

Woven Tote Bag

Ashcroft Sunglasses – I have the classic black and the golden oak

Good Morning Kate,
I was hoping to find out the brand and where to find the flax + chia product you used earlier this week in a smoothie ?
Also, will the hair event be recorded for those of who cannot attend to watch later?
Hope you all have a great weekend and the kids rooms look awesome !

You posted a link I think on your stories to an item that was half blush and maybe have highlighter. It was a stick and it was a brand I didn’t recognize. What was that? Thank you!

Hi! Looking into getting some of the perfect vintage jeans. I have road tripper jeans and don’t feel like they bag out. Can you share your thoughts on how the perfect vintage wear please? Thanks so much!

I may be a little early to ask – did you post a replay of your hair styling event a few weeks ago?
