I Got My Eyebrows Microbladed (Part 2)

I shared in this post that I finally took the plunge and got my eyebrows microbladed. This was something I had thought about for years but it wasn’t until I saw all the incredibly detailed and natural work from Sheila that I felt ready to give it a try.

You can read all about part 1 here.

I went in a few weeks ago for my “touch up”. This appointment was scheduled at the time of scheduling my full microblading. It’s required no matter what kind of fading or healing you experience when you get microbladed.

During the touch up, I shared that now that I had some experience with microblading, and got to see how subtly it can be done, I was willing to go a bit darker and thicker for the touch up. In a lot of ways it felt like the first time I was microbladed, and the after-care process is the same as well.

Some clients may not need the same amount of microblading during a touch up that I got, and others may need more. It’s truly different for each person and it depends on how intense the first round was. It also depends on how well you took care of the brows during after care.

I’ve been asked a few times if I wished I had gone darker and thicker the first time, and my answer is a vehement “NO”! I was nervous about doing this and while I fully, fully trusted Sheila, I was still very pleased to be in a position of having a lighter, “shadow of a brow” instead of being left with something much too harsh.

One of the things that made me feel the most comfortable during the process was how Sheila really listened to me. We looked at photos of her past work, and I explained to her that I wasn’t getting microbladed so I would never have to use eyebrow products again. I was doing this to have a bit more eyebrow in place for times that I’m not wearing any makeup, especially in the summertime when I’m out swimming or on a run. My brows were a point of insecurity for me when we’d be swimming with friends, so my intention for being microbladed was to solve that problem.

I’ll share a final result photo in several weeks (it takes that long to heal and allow the pigment to settle in) but I’m still very much in the place I was immediately after getting it done at my first appointment–and that is *very happy* !

So pleased that you are happy with micro blading!

I was firmly in the ‘no way’ camp until late 2020 when I had multiple coworkers and my sister rave about it. I was also insecure by my brows and went with the subtle look for my first session and built from there. Truly a game changer for me!

I have lost most of my eyebrows because of alopecia and I’ve been strongly considering getting them microbladed for the same reasons you mentioned. Thanks for sharing your experience! I may finally go through with it this year. I just need to find someone I trust.

They look great! I was in the exact same boat, I went verrrry light and thin for the first appointment and then a teeny bit darker and thicker for the touch up. Nothing trendy, just classic for my face. We have very similar coloring and although this is not brow related I had to ask- have you ever considered any type of laser treatment for your skin? Like I said before our coloring is very alike and I have similar natural redness and a little blotchiness that I see sometimes in your postswhen your sans makeup… I just went for a consult to do a laser treatment for a teeny bit of rosacea and think I’m going to take the plunge! Anyway I would love to hear your thoughts on treatments such as those if you have tried them or plan to! From one fair girl to another I figured any bit of advice would help! Take care!

Looks great! I am close to your same schedule – did my touch up about 10 days ago for combo brows. I had some serious asymmetry and also opted for thicker the second round to even things out. Currently in the “ghosting” stage, which is freaky! Even though I know it will be fine. Won’t this be awesome all summer?!

So happy you like your microblading results. I had mine done in 2021 and love them. I even think I’ll go darker the next time I get a retouch.

Thank you for sharing this experience with us. I have also wanted to do this but wanted it to look as natural as possible. I have been nervous about doing this, but I love how yours turned out. I also have thin eyebrows and the ends are fading as well. I will have to reach out to Sheila and make an appointment.

What eyebrow pencil and color do you use? Do you have a recent video showing how you apply your eyebrow color?
